Say what you want about the guy behind this band. The music is not poisoned by his idiotic beliefs and crazy idiologies. It is a piece of art that (in my opinion) should be seen as something independent. I'm beyond tired of these endless discussions about politics and music and if it is okay to even listen to a certain band, if the person who wrote the music is a total nutjob or did anything else wrong. Music is music. Art is art. Politics should be completely left out of both of them.
I am a musician and have no interest whatsoever in any political discussions. The music I like, listen to, make and promote are pure art to me and free from any political statements.
Let's talk about blastbeats, sick riffs, guitars and amps. I don't want to spend my time for politcal discussions. If that's ignorant to anyone, I have no problem at all to be called that.

It's sad that you can't even say the artist's NAME anymore on certain social media sites. Burzum (separate from Varg) will always be remembered as one of the most influential black metal artists of the 1990's, no matter how many times people try to cancel its name. Good cover, too!

Fallen is such an underrated album, but it has an unique atmosphere and feeling. Thanks for doing justice to this song

@@Cineastre AFAIK, Varg was recording in near-professional studio, but mastered tracks by himself
@@vla5102008 That's not correct. It was recorded, produced and mixed by Pytten at the legendary Grieghallen Studios (which is far from "semi-professional") and mastered by Naweed at Whitefield Mastering London.
Instead of "professional" let's call it "actually good sounding". But to be fair they probably made it sound like shit on purpose since that's just part of Burzum's sound.

I'll always love how Burzum breaks the music down to almost as simple as it can be, yet it still some of the greatest Black Metal ever made. Its the baseline of how we judge the rest of the genre.

Classic Burzum is great, but I'd go as far as to say Varg developed a beautiful sense of melody building after leaving prison. Belus and Fallen were his best works in my personal opinion. The lyrics as well became more introspective than ever before. Great cover as always.
Yea his songwriting skills got way better. I was never a huge Burzum fan as i felt his stuff dragged too long although he wrote great parts.
But Belus and Fallen are well written records with great atmosphere without relying on playing the same riff for 10 minutes.
Totally agreed, Fallen and Bellus are awesome albums.

I recently published a Burzum cover with my project "TOMBALE".
A simple cover of Dunkelheit.
However, like you, I had to write an explanatory text explaining that I don't share Varg Vikernes' "ideas", and that I have to separate the man from the artist (or the artist from the music).
It's pretty crazy to have to justify yourself all the time to appease potential haters when you have nothing to do with the NSBM scene.

The main controversy seems to come from people unfamiliar with black metal. I don't know a single Burzum fan who's not appalled by Varg's views, but because his music and political views are totally separate from one another, I don't think there's a conflict between enjoying his music and disliking the man.

Vielen Dank erstmal! Ganz genau, die Nebelmaschine (Hazer war mir zu teuer) bringt echt so viel mehr Tiefe und macht einen großen Unterschied finde ich.
Meine main-cam ist die Sony a7 IV und sitzt in diesem Video fast immer auf den slider shots mit dem Samyang 35mm f/1.4 (außer die Szene "in der kickdrum", da hatte ich das Samyang 14mm f/2.8 drauf).
Als B und C cam (in diesem Video alle shots auf stativen) habe ich eine Sony a7S II mit Brightin Star 50mm f/0.95 (ja, 0.95 und mit manuellem Fokus teuflisch schwierig vernünftig zu fokussieren 😅) und eine Sony ZV-E10 mit dem Viltrox 23mm f/1.4
Auf allen Objektiven (mit Ausnahme des 14mm) sitzt jeweils ein DIY mist filter... Ganz simpel mit den Amazon UV filtern und schwarz mattem Sprühlack 😉

Exzellent. Eine solide und handwerklich perfekte Leistung. Naja,anders sind wir es ja auch nicht von Dir gewohnt. Schon damals war das ein schwarzes Kunstwerk. Und es ist gut das diese Musik nicht in Vergessenheit gerät. B..... hat die damalige musikalische Szene mit geprägt und war sehr wichtig da die Musik wesentlich atmosphärischer und dichter war. Ohne B..... hätte es einige andere Bands wahrscheinlich nicht gegeben. Das ist nur meine persönliche Meinung zu CC und seinem damaligen Projekt.

I have a Burzum tshirt but as I stay in an asian country, most people don't know about black metal. One day I walked past an european mid age lady tourist and she was giving me the disapproving look..and in return I gave her an evil grin.
