This is a fun pen! I own one and am surprised by how good it feels in the hand and how well it writes. Just a great model and, as you say, "very different!!"

Ha, what a happy coincidence that I see a review video alert of this pen on the very same day. I just saw and commented on What I Ink’s ace review of the pen earlier today. And now I see your own splendid show and tell of the pen.
As I’ve already stated in the comments on the other video, I love the Rotring Core very much and use it often. It’s definitely a wacky looking but inexpensive and wonderful fountain pen that will impress a lot more pen fans if only they tried it out.

I believe the holes on the barrel are meant to be an ink window but when the converter is inside you can't see it... also when you unscrew the barrel the section has an orange button that you press and it releases the cartridge/converter.
Yes, I seem to remember that the name Rotring is synonymous with precision and quality and I have seen them on eBay both mechanical pencils and fountain pens (pricey).

Aloha Troy! Nice review of a very unique looking and shaped pen. I have seen other reviews, but have not had the urge to get one as I am trying to save up for a vintage pen or two. It looks as though you have a Parker/Waterman converter? Or just a standard international that looks like a Parker/Waterman? Interesting that Alan (What I Ink) seems to also have a review of this same pen. Have a nice upcoming work week. Mahalo, Thomas
