Thanks so much for this great video, Kathy! I learned something new so how cool is that?! I used CreateSpace for my first coloring book and I'm pulling images together for another coloring book. I always do them in Illustrator, but, like you, I am more comfortable in Photoshop - especially if you like a hand-drawn look, and I do. Looking forward to viewing more of your vids! They are SUPER AWESOME!
Love this. Ater working with this, can certainly see the value in making my own brushes. Question: any way we can do this with Photoshop on the Ipad? Would love to letter on the iPad and transfer over...
Do you use Procreate on the iPad? You can design brushes in that app. It’s fantastic and I’m sure there’s videos on You Tube to learn how! I haven’t used Photoshop on the iPad enough to know what the custom brush situation is in the app.
@@kathywellerart No, I use Photoshop on the iPad. I don't think it is possible to do this, as far as I can tell, because you can't add the stroke on the iPad. But I think you can make the art on the iPad and then import it into Photoshop full version and add the stroke.....maybe someone else has a better way? Anyway, thanks for your tutorial!
Hi Kathy, I am so glad I found your video and your great advice! I have finished my book and ready to prepare to load it but am still trying to get everything perfect with transferring to Vector since I also work mostly in Photoshop. I followed your steps but wanted to know what is the best file setting for the KDP? Is it PDF or PNG for clearest line art? Do I need to send it back to PS or upload files from AI? I appreciate your insight and thrilled I found these and need more. Thanks Mona
Mona Harris hey Mona! I save my pages a transparent PNGS. After each page is saved, I assemble them all into one multi page PDF. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any follow up questions!
Mary Liuzzi Hi MARY! Yes! I have an iMac with a Wacom Cintiq 21ux connected to it. It’s a first generation Cintiq ! It’s about ten years old, and it still works like a charm! Also, I even bought it factory refurbished, and it still works great. Wacom products are so excellent. I have the Adobe Creative Suite cloud and that’s how I use the adobe products. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any more questions!
Hi, great vid, thank you. quick question though, do you do your writing with the cintiq pen? or do you use fonts in photoshop, also as you were outlining, were you erasing the original lettering.
Holy guacamole, thanks for the outlining tip! This is going to streamline my lettering process so much.
