  • In this video I do a review of the King Komb pet grooming and deshedding brush. It's no secret that my long time favorite for a dog grooming brush is the Kong ZoomGroom, so I'll use that as a primary point for comparison for its effectiveness, price, and build quality.

Gus is so well behaved. ❤️❤️❤️
Btw, thanks for the detailed review! I'm looking for a good brush and this definitely helps.

As I watched Gus' reaction to both, he seemed very at ease with the Kong. With the King, I seemed to notice he reacted as if it was too sharp on his skin in a few strokes. I know with our Dane, she would not like that sharpness at all. In fact, she does fine with regular bristle type hair brush. The nubs on the Kong probably feel almost like a massage. Great video, as usual. He sure is a calm fella!

Definitely more at ease with the Kong, but she’s also gotten used to it over the years. I think it was more so just the different feeling than anything with the new brush

The King Komb isn't sharp at all. There's no way you would scratch your dog when using with common sense.
      Short hair = less pressure
      Long hair = more pressure
You should always start with less pressure until your dog is comfortable with it.

I did see the reaction too. Her back hollowed a bit and she turned her head towards the area. My dog does it too sometimes (with a coat king type of comb) and then I know to work even more careful there. I love the kong zoom groom for general grooming. My dog is a short-haired collie - American bulldog mix, pretty much short-haired with thick undercoat.

@@christinamartinez8132 I never heard of it before either, or since. He is a super sweet dog, good with all other dogs, and everybody adores him 😊

Thanks for this comparison video. I hadn’t heard of the King Komb and will check it out.
I just bought the Kong Groom brush and the instructions say to “brush gently in a circular motion.” I haven’t seen anyone use it like that in any videos, but it seems to pull out more hair with a gentle circular motion.

Our Dane mix is 1 year old today. She is a Newfoundland grate Dane mix not as big as a pure Dane but looks just like one she really likes the water . But 1 question does your Dane have webbed feet I know most water dogs do and ours does but was wandering if it was from the Newfoundland or the Dane side . She's just shy of 100lbs and not even filling out yet

I’m having a tough time keeping our Great Dane hair shedding to a minimum he sleeps in the bed with us and we have to sweep and dust everyday it’s a ton of hair all over the place even made it’s way on our clothes very badly, will the king brush after brushing a couple minutes a day eliminate that problem???

Crikey Mate! Your poor dog! It's a wonder he had any fur or skin left after you'd finished 'grooming' him! Way too rough! : (

Surely you aren't serious... A dog is an animal, not a fragile object. There's absolutely no way that would cause any harm.

This is like Joe rogan reviewing hair products…. Maybe use a dog with fur next time?
