As someone who watched a 30-minute flash documentary on the subject. I am a self-qualified expert to answer the chains' question. A 13 y/o beat Tetris by triggering a "Kill Screen" well before level 255. So he did actually beat the game. However, if someone were to clear level 255, both the player and the game would win on what the competitive tetris community calls the "Rebirth Screen" since the game resets to the very beginning like nothing happened. That also means that technically, if played perfectly, you can play a never-ending game of Tetris for the rest of your life. (Assuming you pause the game).
I never imagined that a movie about tetris could be so enthralling. Easily one of the best pieces of media out there and the soundtrack is just cherry on the top.
Agree, that’s a great game. There is a UA-camr who comments Tetris championships, I didn’t know it was so entertaining. It’s in Russian though, Yuri the Professional
"Not bad..." Coming from Hiroshi Yamauchi, the great-grandson of the Founder of Nintendo and the owner and CEO of the company at the time Henk Rogers brought a prototype of the game to him asking for permission to release it on the Famicom/Nintendo Entertainment System, that's the *highest* praise a game can get.
Holy Moly, what did I just watch? As a kid who grew up in the 90's, this was the ultimate walk down memory lane. That revamped early 90's video game aesthetic and the Tetris inspired music made this 40-year-old man cry like the little boy he was when he first played the game. An entire generation needed this.
Fantastic film. Great soundtrack, perfectly placed, all actors on their game, especially Taron Egerton who nails it as a young Richard Dreyfuss. Love this film and is addictive...JUST LIKE TETRIS!
Putting aside the jokes, I loved the throwback to Mirrorsoft (didn't know it collapsed in itself due to mismanagement, it was a pretty important UK game developer back in the day… Caesar The Cat was one of the first C64 games I remember I have ever played) and to Andromeda Software (look for the longplay of Scarabeus by Der Schmu). I also didn't know the chaos behind the management of the worldwide rights.
Спасибо за такой классный фильм! В последнее время очень мало качественных фильмов. А так-же этот фильм показывается что добрые люди есть везде и важно это помнить!
I have ADHD so my favourite video games are ones like tetris where you can pick it up, play for a 30mins to a few hours and not need to get involved in a whole backstory or complete assignments over a long period of time. Tetris is great for that.
Many years ago I wrote source code of Tetris in A.I and I.T in my university college & period[house],I have made a lot of games and I've invested for those programms by factories all around the world
Pinball the man who saved a game Similar movie released before this movie with same concept how games become legal Both movies are essence for history of gaming
Apple I have never watched a single movie produced by u I didn't like, u guys always pay attention to the littlest of details to make ur stories believable, and always go all out, the best studio cooperation indeed
Honestly, this should of been in theaters. Maybe scrub down some of the language, as it’s the only thing making it R rated, if it where PG-13, it could of had more recognition, which it absolutely deserved. Awesome movie.
@@T-Dawg75 No problem. If you meant to say there would be more viewings with a movie theater rental, yes, I agree. But it's not because of the R rating that the movie wasn't shown in theaters. It's because Apple bought the rights to show and distribute it in 2020. And by showing the movie, they were building loyalty to the streaming service. So it's not because of the "language" in the movie. It's also possible that the language would have been different and the scenes themselves would have been different. I think the movie is good the way it is, of course the scenes were directed not by chance, but to emphasize specific moments in the movie. So I would not change anything, in any case the movie will still be reviewed and discussed online, and whoever wants to watch it more than once will be able to do so. Some movies, over time, only gain popularity, and here with views I think everything will be fine.
Watch this film. Such an incredible story executed brilliantly by the writers and cast. 10/10. Egerton is one of the best actors in the game right now.
This movie lied in that it highlighted not the creator of the game who did not seek money but rather Stein who lied his way to swindle the product away from the original creator without any benefit to him until he was forced to fight back
I don't care how much this movie is "authentic" versus "fiction". It was holy cow, hawt dang, gosh darn, AMAZGINLY entertaining. And Taron and the cast was superb! I love this movie! See it now! rent it NOW! Buy it NOW!
I remember that in ``The Brothers Karamazo '' by Dostoyevsky, there is a scene in which Russian children are being subjected to harsh training and dying, just like the children in the Japanese Manga ``Akira'' . I am afraid that just as ``Crime and Punishment'' by Dostoyevsky seems to show me a reverse simulation of ``The Troubles of Young Werther,'' Russians might have been in the position of optimizing the world's distortions, and the threshold of children might have been misused. I can find this trajectory in the music video "Russians" by Sting. A long time ago, I heard that Tetris was developed by a Russian genius child. I might feel blue if this movie did deepen that darkness.
And today, a human finally beat the game.
Yeah a 13 year old.
Maybe not exactly, the final reachable level in Tetris is 255. No a single human has reached that level as for now
if the original game stops working at level 157 then the final reachable level is 157.@@TheGGMediaMemonto

Should we help this film fight against the Big Boys?
Considering how insane the real story is, I’m surprised they haven’t tried to make a movie of it sooner.

Critics: Man who is puting boxes. (In mind: Who cares?)
In reality: 'Soviet Union is about to implode!'

Seeing "Oldman Nintendo" sure made me smile. Dude might as well had been family to me.
