Moved to GA in 1992 and just now saying "I gotta this DOWN!!" When I'm done locking in it, I know I'll have the best available. Next? Throw my head back and sing it with all the love I have for the words and the melody. You've given me the chance to change my life and I will, gratefully, take it from here! Thank You.
Wow O Wow man you rocked this presentation. The absolute best tutorial of this song that I've come across. Your beautiful vocal accompaniment is super also.
Such a good way of teaching - love it when you play something and say 'right?' - I find myself replying and saying 'right' back, and little touches like ' keep the C in' on the passing B7 make it so bluesy..thanks so much. Would love to hear your full version singing and playing uninterrupted .
Just gotta say, you’ve really made it easy to follow along with you. I appreciate it, it helps so much. I once saw on a channel someone ask the uploader if they could provide the notes to the song they were teaching in the video. The uploader was like “if you’re serious about playing piano, you don’t need me to provide the notes”. I thought that was so petty and ridiculous. Sure, after a while you kind of know what’s happening, but beginners are just going to get bogged down. Having videos like this makes learning piano far more accessible. So, again, thanks. Merry Christmas!
a lot of people you see playing piano on youtube have been playing since they were kids. they have no idea what it’s like to learn music like it’s completely new.
I found this to be a wonderful tutorial. Thank you so much from Australia. And your voice! What a great surprise! I’m going to spend a little time learning this one. What would make it even better would be if you could play and sing it the whole way through, right at the beginning in your own rendition.
Thank you so much. Shouts out to Australia. I love your suggestion but it’s a time issue for me. I do so many tutorials and it would slow me down. I hope that makes sense
Ok let’s go to learn it, wonderful, thank you for this tutorial I'm very happy to see tutorials like this one that really represents what ray Charles played
Man, your stuff is tasty! Im sitting here in a little town in Germany, and I really enjoy listening to your music while of course trying to get the stuff that you teach all together on the keys. Thanks a lot, you sound fantastic!
Love it man! At least for me, when you say "right?'" it is in the right place to make me feel like I am right there with you. Right? You have a gift. Thank you.
Dude, you're a legend. Been looking for a tutorial like this. I don't do theory (sorry to any real musicians out there), I just need to know what buttons to press 😂This nails it! Off to start learning...
I've recently started learning blues on both piano and guitar - using "Georgia On My Mind" piece. Then I stumbled upon your video with an excellent process of not only learning the rhythm itself, but also how to sing it. You've definitely given this song justice with great performance. Thanks for sharing 👏👍
Wow, what a teacher and what a voice man, I'd pay to listen to you do a gig, also can't thank you enough for the Stevie tunes, Too High blew my mind although I doubt I'll ever be able to play it : 0 )
3:53 😂😂 as a fellow pianist, I am so laughing at the comment that followed the chord identification. Reminds me of harmony class back in college. 😂 I totally understand why you said that for less experienced musicians that would need the entire harmony classes to understand the mathematical structure and logic behind a composition. 🙉 Your version is made easy to perform for the average person and yet still sound rich and complete in harmony. Well done as to the tutorial as a whole. 🙏👍 Anyone with a bit of experience, even beginners, who spends his time watching and following 🎹 this video twice a day daily, week ends included will surely perform the entire song in a matter of days. 2 weeks at most.
Thank you for this generous sharing of your musical inspiration! Wow, beautiful playing and teaching! So enjoyable! I appreciate this so much!!!!!! Going to keep practicing ;-) such a powerful song….I recently learned some more of the history of this song…lots to learn and reflect on….
I love Ray Charles and I love this song. Thank you so much. I only try and learn them when it gets stuck in my head. It really helps when you say “start off with the Left hand, Right?” 😂 Can you see my brains ricocheting around in my head for about 2 seconds 😂
You can play the piano AND sing beautifully! Also I love your accent. May I ask, where you're from? Is it around New York? Happy greetings from southern Germany :)
Thanks so much for saying every note you are playing because I am a blind piano player and it really helps when you do this.
I got you
Aint no way

If my mom was still alive, she'd be glued to the piano with this on an iPad.
