Just got one with 95K miles. Engine purrrs like a kitten, trans shifts perfect, 5.2 engine better on gas then a v6 vortec. Aside from rust where the water runs down when it rains on one side, I love this van ! Bought it cheap and worth every penny !!!
These vans were in production for a LONG time!!! 1971-2003!!! Had a friend who had an '85 Ram 250 3/4 ton conversion van that he'd let me drive once in a while, That was one SWEET rig!!!!
Watching this is such a throwback! 12 years after this was recorded is insane to think about. Also weird to think that these conversion vans used to be a common vehicle, now they are completely gone.
My family use to have a 1998 Dodge Ram Conversion van back in the early 2000's. we bough ours used though but I remembered we took that van everywhere from California to Colorado to the Grand Canyon. The engine had to be replaced after 75,000 miles but other then that these vans are really great for family road trips.
my dad has a 2003 ram van conversion in forest green, but he bought it for my grandpa to ride around in, and since hes in a wheelchair we have the wheelchair lift and the conversion top. It has less than 12000 miles on it. it mostly just sits in our driveway besides when i drive it.
I had a 1999 hi-top one and it was awesome never had a problem! Had alpine stereo system,TV,VCR,All lights inside, was awesome! Traded it in last year when it hit 100,000 miles for a 2006 Ford Explorer! One down side of the van is it SUCKED in snow!
They stopped making them because they didn't know how to make a van. It did not have a frame underneath it. It was a unibody. And they would literally rust away. I don't people that have had the motors fall onto the road because of some frames rusted out where they bolt to the unibody. Just completely junk. Run don't walk away from one of these Dodge vans
I like the ram van i had when i graduated from high school old guy was going to junk it cause no one would buy it so took off his hands for 500 bucks had all the fixing and everything. I just put 1,000 into it for new tires and various engines parts ran like new for 8yrs. till engine died at 306,720miles.
im planning on buying a 2001 with the 3.9 l v6 120k for around 2500 is this a good deal i know its not a power horse but i need a car and my dad is in a wheel chair any boody have one of these and wahts a good way to make it wheel chair useable thanx alot
This is my dads old van he collects antiques and he pulled his enclosed trailer with it and he drove it every day he also has a picup now he has a maroon chevy g20 van
now see i like how they have the windows switches up front like that ontop of the door in the corner. Who ever thought of that did their homework. By having in that spot it doesn't take your eyes off the road.
I have a 98 140K motor & trans perfect, rear seat folds to bed, the bad: suspension hard as truck, front end problems, rusted to the frame, but overall, excellent ……
We’ll start it up show you the engine get exhaust clip and go over the performance details and show u a bunch of the features on the interior as well as exterior
@randomrazr GM has 2 conversion vans and the work vans while other companies like dodge and Ford decided to make vans but they are more like boxes you just got to look at them.
+JxC actually the Dodge vans never came with the 4.7. Your timeline is correct for the trucks, in 2002 the options were the 4.7 and the 5.9, but the vans never got the new engines, so their options remained 5.2 and 5.9

I love these vans more! Awesome job bro.
These machines were awesome. Shame they discontinued them. My only gripe with them was that the front door windows looked to small.
Michael Burke you can fit like 20 kids in them
They’re return is promaster

I really like conversion van. If I were to drive and travel I would definitely get one. That dodge conversion van is real clean and nice.
@BackyardFLPB they are like regular vans but converted to be like mini mobile homes for long road trips and camping etc.
LOL For some reason I find it funny when you say "Power everything"
I have the 2000 version of that. The cool thing about mine is the way back seats fold into a bed!
I wouldn't mind having one of these. 👌🏻

I guess it's the best conversion van you have reviewed.
Hey Kyle, could you explain what are conversion vans for people fro, other countries, like me?
You know what Kyle, i don't mind you put horsepower / torque specs in the beginning like this... i kinda like it ^^
the 1994-2003 Dodge Ram Van was assembled in
Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Those conversion vans have the most comfy seats. now all you need to find is a Ford conversion van. and you will have all of them covered.
Can you do a Ford E-Series passenger van and/or a E-Series conversion van?
Hey kyle nice video man. I always enjoy them. Brandon Reeves has a 1994 Ford F250 on their website. can you do a video on it please?
1:03 the chime sounds different than other dodge and jeep and Chrysler chime
Probably the only good looking one I've seen in years

Gamerboy, I have a 99 that just about as nice you can buy. They are cool and comfortable rides.
I remember my uncle had a 2000 Dodge Ram cargo van and it had a buzzer instead of the chime in this van. That buzzer was annoying
Would this make a good first car?
This van awsome for long distance trips !

does the rear seat convert to a bed, and I don't really like the idea of mounting a tv to the floor... someone could kick it and break it...
