Pandit Shivkumar Sharma with Rahul Sharma ~ Raga Vachaspati (October 1999)

Navras Records and Sama Arts presented an evening of two legends in duets, with each other and their next generation. The duet of Pandit Shivkumar Sharma and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia - respective legends of the Santoor and Bansuri - was preceded by duets of Hariji with his nephew and disciple Rakesh Chaurasia and Shivji with his son and disciple Rahul Sharma. This concert was presented at London's Barbican Centre on 1st October 1999.
Shivji and Rahul played the South Indian Raga Vacahspati and were accompanied by the great Tabla Maestro (late) Ustad Shafat Ahmad Khan. We present excerpts from this rendition from the Navras (now with Sony Music India) archives.
