I found your channel when I started in the hobby about 2 years ago. Kev gives the facts I have set up all my tanks this way and have had no issues #seachem #knowledge
I’m new to the hobby. Aaaaaaaand i decided to go with cichlids 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ BUT thank the gods i found your channel. I’ve been slowly learning a lot. I’ve even purchased your cichlid book and clear water book. I was wondering how long i need to use prime and stability for. Aaaand now i know. Lol. Thank you!!!! I’m even considering joining the membership!
Facts. Testing kits. As you said this hobby is not for the lazy, or the faint of heart. Requires dedication, knowing your tank and knowledge. It’s your tank and only you know what works.
I cycled a planted (in fluval substrate) ten gallon with an Oase 100 thermo for a week, and have never seen ammonia or nitrites, even after adding fish after three weeks. Nitrates around 5 ppm. So far so good! Btw, I did add some packaged beneficial bacteria that first week and after the first 30% water change. I will just change about 15% to 20% weekly going forward, but my ammonia and nitrite levels are zero before and after the changes.
Day 11 of Prime and Stability, in new tank fish in.Hap and Peacocks 6 total so far. 75g w Fluval FX6. I basically designed the entire setup off of your channel. Thanks bro!!
thank you i recently changed my gravel and underground filter to a side filter and your methed helped me get my fish back in (slowly) the tank in 4 days ish
Thank you so much! I’m new to this as my father in law passed away before Christmas, and I took over his beloved tank. Due to his poor health it haven’t been cleaned for months, and let’s just say it was a train wreck. Thankfully the tank is stocked with spotted tilapia, and I have “only” lost 6 out of many. The problem I’m having is that I managed to ruin my bacterial cycle, so I got new tank syndrome with spiked nitrite and ammonia, with a bacterial bloom 😔 after days of working on the levels, they are starting to look good now, but I’m gonna use Stability and Prime until nitrite levels are stable at 0. Can you point me into the right direction when it comes to dosing? I have a 105gallon tank (400 liters). Thank you in advance 🙏🏻
No water changes while doing this method right? It’s been about a week and a half still haven’t done a water change. I have no ammonia, pretty high nitrite and a few nitrates

Thanks for sticking with me bro! Glad you found success! 😁💪
Same here! I knew nothing about maintaining a cichlid tank. Now, my cichlids are thriving in a 90-gallon tank.

Prime goes into tap water. I never use it after that . stability is wonderful . Tested tanks today and they perfect for fish
Agreed, this video is about cycling your tank with fish in.
Shout we be adding a full dose of prime daily? Why do you propose the bottle only gives direction for the one dose?
Cause you only need 1 dose daily. The bottl;e also says its safe to dose up to 5x
Do you find that it usually takes longer than 7 days to reach those water parameters?
Depending on tank size, fish-in or fishless, pH and few others.
No, it can take more or less. Checkout the full video linked.

No water changes until ammonia and nitrite hit 0
@@lukeborg9523 i waited and got 0 both now. went from high nitrite to 0 over night
me too yesterday :) @@BriceTooNice
You're good to go now! 💪👏
@@KaveManAquatics thanks to you bro!
I've been at it 3 weeks still not cycled

@@KaveManAquatics looking like my pH was too low for cycle to start
I'm water changing to raise my pH
I cycle my tanks with an .89 cent bottle of ammonia. That works as well.
Of course that works, but not with fish in the tank. This is how you cycle a tank with fish in on day 1.
