As a Mexican that grew up poor and now lives well in the US, I can honestly say I lived happiest in Mexico. I obviously live well here but in MX, I was happy. We aren't ignorant, and we also do try to live better, but with so little and work being so hard, we just learned to live in the moment and enjoy what we have. The western world is so caught up on the go and on the climb that no enjoyment is enjoyed.
As someone who has lived and experienced both lives, I can confidently say that it is not ignorance that makes these people happy. I honestly can't say what is but even after experiencing the average American life, I was much happier going back to my country and living a life where everything seemed worse in comparison but in fact was much richer. Even to this day, I have dreams where I wake up in my families humble home, which always brings me joy.
Good for you but it is not comfortable for me to have a toilet that can't flush and not having clean water or green grass in my yard and a sanitary kitchen space I don't find much happiness in that I don't care if my house is small or if I have no TV or electronics just as long as it can be sanitary and well working plumbing house then things can run smooth for me, there are always things to entertain us, singing, dancing, playing soccer or cards but to have bad hygiene conditions is what gets to me. I have always wanted to live out in the country and have my own farm life but make sure to have a clean proper working home. What people call a simple life is actually hard work it's just at a slower pace of time. They appreciate what they have even if it's not much and that is always a good thing
I always laugh when I see people buy things like electronic grounding pads so they can be grounded to the energy of Gaia (the Earth). We would just go barefoot. It still works.🤣
This was pretty cool to watch, as a 3rd Generation Mexican American who has only visited Mexico on several occasions I find it eye opening and very interesting … My relatives are from a large city called Monterrey Mexico and they all have had opportunities for education and jobs in the city .. all are thriving and well but I am not blind to that fact there are remote and indigenous areas of Mexico with people who lack resources such as education, jobs and modern luxuries such as modern day plumbing and running water. What I’ve learned is that people who live in poverty don’t have time to think about it because your daily focus is survival. Family is always the core of a Latino, Hispanic or however people identify themselves. As long as you have the love of your family you can survive any living condition. I would love to have seen a sit down recap with the family you visited .. here you can get those burning questions answered. Thanks again for sharing .. Education is Power!
I've always been "well off" because my parents have money, but I hd friends or other relatives with very humble homes and I can tell you...the memories I have of those places..Just...warmth, love, joy, closeness...
@@supernatural2029 I sure agree with you. The “woke” always have to hate on the “rube” white American…people are people. Viva la difference! Until one has gone outside of one’s home/hometown, you can’t fully understand another’s cultural difference. Go to West Virginia or the deep swamps in Louisiana and stay for a week. If you’ve never been where mosquitos are horrible, you’d never make it!!!
Im not Mexican, Im ecuadorian, but this situation is something very common in all latin american countries... Love your content, it makes you think about a lot.
Indeed. I'm Mexican from the USA. I've met many latinos in Florida. I've also traveled to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The latin way is very evident to us in the USA.
This was so wholesome! Thanks for doing this! I’d really like to see the reverse video, where you invite the rural Mexican family to come live with y’all for a few days.
If you can’t bring them all the way out to Canada, I encourage you to bring them to texas! They can still experience life in a first world country, and I’d be happy to help in any way possible to make this happen!
@@DiscoverConnection i do know that in Leamington, Ontario, Canada they bring in workers from Mexico to work in the farm sector. There are many greenhouses and farms
@@DiscoverConnection maybe you guys could also open a donation box? I really really hope this won’t be misunderstood but I would love to help the family in any shape or form
As someone who grew up experiencing that similar simple but “harsh” living conditions and later had the opportunity to live comfortable in a first world country I’ll just say that I was somehow happier when I didn’t have so much and it was easier to have faith because there was no other option. I think comfortable living presents itself with the challenge of testing you, your values and priorities, “will you forget what life it’s about once you have more? “ it’s the question those opportunities come with.
My ex-boyfriend is one of 13 children from a small town in Aguacatan, Guatemala. He grew up in very similar conditions, where they had no running water, and every morning they would have to hike down to some river to get water to boil just to make tortillas and coffee, etc. They had to sacrifice their education to work. And when he got here to the United States, he was blown away. But after 10 years being here and getting addicted to a cell phone with 24/7 access to Social media and porn. I feel like it ruined him. I see this happen with a lot of young men that come from Third World countries.
Because in the USA sometimes people focus more on the value of stuff instead of knowing how to value life and being thankful and grateful for wat they have. Some also seem is like the more they have the more they want and still not grateful for wat they have.
As a Mexican American I am very happy you guys tried to be involved in this culture. I know it’s very different from what you know but I appreciate that you tried :)
I feel sad for Liam not getting why people are happy with less. Its certainly nothing to do with not knowing better. I have travelled the world and worked in seventy six countries on five continents, lived with people who have nothing and people who have everything, and can say without a doubt the ones with less are in general happier with their lives. I myself have lived a very affluent life until I chose a simpler path ten years ago. I went from a very successful and wealthy but stressed out man to now living in not much more than a shack that I built myself, no running water, a dry compost toilet and a woodstove for heat. Life is richer now than it ever was living in my three quarters of a million house and working a high status job. I eat fresh natural foods and drink free spring water, cut my own wood for my woodstove that heats my home in winter, i wash in a bucket of creek water with a jug to pour it over my head, my beds comfortable, and my life is my own now. I do have power and internet but not much else in terms of a "western style home" I think people are too hung up on what society tells them they need to have to be happy. Its a social trap. You are told you need more to be happy so you work harder, but the fruits of your labour dont compensate fully for the stress and pressures you get from working towards your goal of "success". Its like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, you never actually get to it no matter how fast or far you run towards it. Living a simpler life is like sitting back and just admiring that rainbow, instead of trying to get the pot of gold and missing the beauty of the colours in the sky. Life made simple is life made happy. I could never go back to my former life now. It would destroy my soul.
I am glad that you know what life is about happiness over materialism. If you are happy inside then what you have outside only adds to it but it does not define you or your happiness. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@helloitsme111-g3e how do you know he doesn't have Jesus in his heart. Just because someone can't relate, you jump to conclusions. That's what's wrong with this wretched world. You immediately assume that everyone NEEDS Jesus. Speaking of, tell me, Where did Jesus Dad come from? Who made him, what woman gave birth to the "Father" who in turn apparently violated a woman against her will and raped her forcing her to conceive another human? Makes no fucking sense does it?
I want to ask for an advice, I’m currently a college student but I’m not happy with my career, I wanted this because I can make good money, but is not what I want, I’m in the US right now, I miss Mexico so much even if had nothing over there, I had this happiness and smiles with my family,I feel so lonely in this country, I don’t know what to do right now, I want to be successful and I want to be happy, I think I can’t get both 😔
Tearing up right now. My abuela used to sing that song to my siblings and I growing up. You’ve unlocked a memory I haven’t allowed myself to think about in so long. She was our rock, our big supporter no matter what the situation was. I’ll always carry the wisdom and life lessons she taught us with me. Thank you. This was worth watching.
This family was so welcoming and nice to you guys. Thats been my experience visiting Mexico. In the USA we have very different priorities- nice cars and home luxuries. They somehow seem happier always smiling and we rarely smile. Love Mexico 🇲🇽
I loved this episode and the fact that Yojan grew so close to Liam in such a short time without even speaking the same language is amazing shows that we can all build strong connections with others if we just open our hearts and our minds. Keep up the amazing work guys I want to see this channel grow even bigger.
I think its because he is seeking attention. The men in the family are mostly working and probably dont have time for him. This guy played with him. I've seen it all the time.
Kids tend to get attached to responsive adults much more easily than older humans do. It's funny that his name is Yojan, which, when pronounced in standard Spanish, sounds exactly the same as the German Johann. I wonder where giving him that name came from.
I had this same experience in 1994. It changed who I was and of course changed my life. Now I have two godchildren in Mexico and miss the people there so bad... Even though its only been a few months. Your edits were great but what touched me most was the incredible voice overs. I wish I had the money to be a regular supporter of your channel but I have spent much of my retirement in Mexico. Que le vaya bien.
This was so awesome. The three ladies were singing "How Great Thou Art". Thank you for sharing this experience. This reminds me how many small things I take for granted everyday.
Mexican people are always like this, they are so down to earth, they are very humble, very caring, very nice and very friendly. They will always invite you to their house , invite you food. They will always welcome you and make you feel at home. I can tell you this because I'm 🇲🇽🇺🇲. Also they know how to party, to drink and have alot of fun.
Oh yes we are like this. I am Mexican American too. You will always get food as a visitor and to go to a Mexican party just bring beer and it is an invite to the party
Here's the thing: People in the western world think that happiness is linked to money, material possessions and career success, where as people from Latin America are happy regardless of what life throws at them. It is a mindset. People in the western world are often cold, distant and unapproachable. Latinos are warm, open and friendly. The western world should maybe slow down a bit and learn from this culture.
I completely agree with everything you just said but I feel like u need money to survive in the western world since u need money to survive everywhere but just less of it
Wonder how Toni would feel knowing some little kid in rural Mexico has literally only one song, that he listens to multiple times a day and knows word for word, and it’s her song.
the song they were singing in the kitchen is a hymn called “how great thou art.” It’s amazing how much happiness is tied to gratefulness. Especially when you don’t have a lot, singing praise and being thankful for everything you have, moments family food, that’s just beautiful.
@@abimaellopezmaylord27lopez7 It's terrible for you to stereotype people based solely on your experience.. There's good, bad & ugly everywhere!! By the way what difference does it make where they live
So very true. My uncle brought 2 coworkers from Arizona back home two West Virginia. I was in my teens and it was the first time I had met anyone from outside my community. They were such kind and mannerly men. That week opened my eyes to a wonderous fact .... we are all alike and if we can get past our fears and ignorance the world would be so great.
This video is amazing, these people actually have a bit more than we had growing up in Juarez Mexico, but coming to the US and suffering both physically and mentally as I have for 49 years it's always been a beautiful feeling to remember how life was back then compared to how life is today, yes... My people are known to be very hard working and complain less than others when put to the test but, it's hurtful to realize that we came here to become modern day slaves for a country that rejects us and talks horribly about us yet they can't take our harmony away from us. No matter how much I have or how much I don't I share the same feelings as the people in this video ... I am happy and always grateful. 🙏❤
Wow what an amazing video, I'm going to Mexico in 3 months and I'm super excited to experience the culture and meet people like you have. Creo que la gente de Mexico es increible.
Yeah you will love it, I went there with my family for 10 days and it was a blast. I would recommend going on the public busses it really cheap and cool!
Hey Rec0rder Mast3r, where in Mexico will you be staying?? I'm currently in Mexico I've been here since mid July. I've been to Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Puebla and lastly Mexico City. I couldn't be more happier traveling with my small family. Wish you the best on your odyssey, you will love it!
The best memories I have is from visiting a family in Peru down the amazon river. They literally lived in a wooden/grass hut with a dirt floor. They were the most amazing and welcoming family I have ever met. Yes, their life may be called simple by us but their family was so full of love for everyone. Those and these people are what community really is. They are so beautiful in there caring. The world would be a better place if everyone had hearts and minds and big and open as theirs are
I'm from Ireland but live about an hour drive from the Mexican border, I work with all Mexicans and I must say that they are the nicest and friendliest people I've ever met
Tears are pouring down my eyes now as im typing 😢. I used to live almost like this however luckily enough it was in California USA. I worked in our fields picking and help with cooking. Im so lucky to have a education. This was so touching. Reminds me to be grateful for what i have with much gratitude 🙏. I believe you had a impact on that boy and hope you go back one day to reunite. Blessings to the family out there and Mexico 🇲🇽. Thank you guys from Canada 🇨🇦 for being you.🙏💜🥰
Living in that condition is one of the hardest ways to live and it is also one of the most beautiful. There's nothing like having your family always around. But trust me, these men are always working really hard to feed their family, I've seen comments saying that they are far away from the anxiety and stress of living in a big city.. they couldn't be more wrong... these men are the ones that end up crossing the border only to get better opportunities for their families and a lot of them end up killed by a rancher at the border shooting at them like if it was a sport. I'm not saying they aren't happy though, as I said, there's nothing like a united family living to care and protect each other, kids also grow up playing with their friends but also start working as soon as they are capable. Men in this situation tend to get depressed by their lack of possibilities of life improvement, a lot of them hide their depression behind a smile, because men don't cry, men work and feed families. Us who live in cities tend to ignore their situation only because we are blinded by our own aspirations to get luxury shit, while these men fight every day to at least have a proper bathroom. I wish our government was not corrupt so taxes could be used properly to improve everyone's situation. Thank you guys for coming to México and documenting your experiences, you guys are awesome and I hope you keep coming.
You're right. They are not ignorant of the luxurious life they could be living even in Mexico, but if they put their focus on that, they will definitely live miserably.
A man I knew from AZ a long time ago used to call it exactly that- hunting. They shoot at people for sport. People who are just trying to find a better life for their families.
I was working with my dad since I remember myself at the farms and when I became 18 I did my service in the army in a special unit close to the borders (in Greece every male citizen has to serve for 1 year, then becomes reserve). I experienced all the things you showed in the video, except that I have never struggled to survive, because we are not that poor. I was never forced to work, I was just out of control from the day I was born till the I became around 10. You learnt how difficult is to stay under the sun all day and work like maniac to make your salary. People should know this, and appreciate what farmers do for us. There are so many organisations, governments etc. that fight us here in Europe. The overpriced products you face is because of this, but they all the time speak about climate crisis, COVID crisis and whatever the fck comes to their mind. When farmers protest, is not because they don't like environment. It's because these laws don't allow them to make money. We barely find someone to work for us when we need more hands to collect fruits. Every year more and more people abandon this job. So next time you see farmers need help, go and support them with any way. Greetings from Hellas 🇬🇷☦️.
18 years down here in Mexico and I can tell you that they are grateful for what they have and don´t stress out about what the Jones´ have. Me too, soy como Mexicano.
I hate it when people say wholesome, but this is the most wholesome channel I've found in my years on UA-cam. It reminds me we're all the same, in almost every way. Regardless of wealth we all have problems, but we all do our best. It's been a brilliant reminder of that to me, from someone who usually walks around supermarkets genuinely actively disliking people I've never even met, for the smallest thing. Thank you for the much needed nudge back in the right direction.
I just recently came back from Mexico and this is exactly what I miss. I never realized how simple life can be. It made me have mix feelings about the way I live my life of just work, eat, and sleep. If there is one feeling I want to experience again is the feeling of comfort and simplicity.
im of mexican/american decent and this is maybe my 4th video watching of this channel and the moment i seen you guys showering in an extremely dingy and messes up situation (compared to us in the states and in canada) and yall completely being (somewhat) at ease and saying "hey if it works" brought me to tears growing up even in the state with similar (though) no where near as underdeveloped situations really made me feel... im not sure how to explain it but thank you guys for your compassion genuinely brought me to tears thank you
What a MASTERPIECE!!! Liam asks so many real and GREAT questions for us to think about and he is also a great commentator that we can all relate to. Cheers!
such a beautiful channel, breaking our hearts open in the most beautiful, tender way. thank you for this work, the world needs so much compassion and understanding now, and your intentions are not without enormous appreciation. and that food looks BOMBBBBBB. que viva Mexico!!!!
New video! Let's goooo! I've recently subscribed and I'm currently watching the Hitchhiking Across Canada series. What you've built is pretty awesome! Hope we can meet if you ever go to Belgium or Spain! Cheers =)
Graat video. I loved at around the 8 min mark when you realized what I did many years ago. You hit it on the nose bro. Less is almost always more in the end. The lack of bs that blurs what matters allows you to actually enjoy life. Living in the moment , especially with food is the way to happiness.
I love the sentiment of this video. At the beginning Liam was feeling sorry and dumbfounded by everything they go through until he realized the beauty of simplicity. This showed the difference in viewing what is normal. These individual don't see their lack of supplies or stuff a hinderence but they see it as every day life. It's not a problem to them as this is what they know. And in a way it's exactly what needs to be for them. While, I do agree that more money and resources would definitely be useful for these folks but they don't look at it that way. It appears they're content with what they have and are happy anyways. What an eye opening video.. cheers.
They do care about money and resources they just do everything in their power to avoid making their happiness dependent on the amount of money and resources they have.
Poor people sing. Ahem. Que sorpresa! That part really got me, that the American guest was surprised that they sang?! Yeah, poor people sing & dance, guy. Sometimes from happiness, sometimes to keep their sanity. Just like rich people.
@@kathleencardincpm4435 I don't know specifically if he was suprised that they sing but how humble and efficient they all are when it comes to the kids having fun and the adults entertaining themselves. I think people understand that "poor people sing", but its not necessarily about the singing that is surprisingly. However, it's about the energy and effort put into doing such things that we as north americans take for granted. I just overall love this video.
@@benjaminariasjr I wasn't saying that they don't want money and resources, hence why I said "While, I do agree that more money and resources would definitely be useful for these folks but they don't look at it that way. It appears they're content with what they have and are happy anyways.". I'm more so loving the context of this video. It shows what we all take for granted in north america. I grew up poor so I understand finding the beauty in simplicity. It's just a humbling thing to see and be brought back to the basics.
The song they were singing it's actually a Christian song called How great thou art but translated to Spanish, they are happy because they have the joy of God in their hearts
thank you exactly what i said also !!! . this was something they didnt want to include about mexicans . THEIR DEEP FAITH IN GOD IS THE FOUNDATION TO THEIR JOY. i say this is poor representation because after 2 days of living with them or even 2 hours this is obvious . but they made sure not to include it . GOD IS ESSENTIAL IN THEIR LIVES there is nothing confusing about this . that confusion liam felt was him realizing what it is that made them happy that liam didnt have GOD in your life ignorance is bliss? it didnt look like liam was happy until he was around people of GOD . ???????

I am Mexican. I live in the USA. What makes people happy in Mexico is not ignorance. The Mexican culture makes emphasis on generosity and service. Which gives life purpose. USA culture focuses on self achievement. The lack of connection and service in USA among each other makes people depressed and lonely. In Mexico people have more tendency to trust each other, in USA of being afraid of each other. Sharing a humble tortilla with a friend makes you happier than having a full fridge and a lonely meal. Our human souls become full when we love and care for each other, carrying our burdens alone and thinking too much about ourselves leads to sadness. If the values in USA shifted to being less self focused, it would be not only financially prosperous but would be a truly joyous place.
This really resonated with me. Subscribed. I’m a backpacker/camper and work FT. I’m 61. This past summer I had opportunity to backpack 260 miles before and then on the John Muir Trail that travels along California’s Sierra Nevada mountain range. On trail, your only focus is on water, food, hiking, rest and weather. No other distractions. It is difficult, but glorious. On another note, my son just married the girl of his dreams, who came from a small village in Mexico. She is always so happy, something that escapes most of us. I’m sure it comes from her roots and I so admire it.
8:10 I loved your moment of introspect, and I don't think your priorities are messed up, your blessed soul had the opportunity to live the life you got, you have your priorities according to your situation!
It is not that they're happy with the life they have, they are happy despite everything because it is not worth worrying about what you don't have. The only life they've lived is to ensure there is food and shelter, every nice thing they can afford after that is just a plus. They know there are better living conditions and they do everything in their power to get there but understanding the odds are against them they learn how to enjoy what they have, otherwise, you're leaving a door open to frustration and depression which can definitely diminish your ability to ensure the food and shelter they need to survive.
Couldn't agree more. I'd like to add: What might be hard to get for many 'developed' 'westerners' is that in the deep latin american comunities life is not that much about private property as in the US and CA, in wich everyone is trying to build their very own empire and utopia. It's more about working together for a better tomorrow for each one.
@@cesarspencemarin7598 i met many Californian kids that are sad because they don’t have a mansion or an expensive car but I tell them be happy you have a family or shelter
Hey guys!!! I love this video! What a great experience! I miss that little boy and I wasn't even there! I hope you go visit him again Liam, he really loves you! Brad, always great to see you!!! Keep the videos coming my friend!!!
Beautiful video guys, I'm mexican and during the pandemic Mexico has become a popular place for people from around the world, but I don't think most have had the experience and humility you had, to actually get to know the culture, the people & understand the differences and similarities between us. Great storytelling, un abrazo!
Thank you for approaching the experience with such an open mind and heart. It’s truly inspiring to see people present and enjoying the moment, reminding us of what we might sometimes overlook in our own lives. It’s not just about the climb; it’s about appreciating the journey along the way.
Touching and genuine connection. Liam and the boy..priceless. Love what he said here…that simplicity and happiness is a mindset, not how much stuff you own. When I was a kid in my early years I would love to go see my grandparents in Mexico for two weeks in the summer. I would not have the things like TV with many channels ,in-house toilet, and malls, but I had my simple fun things like marbles, toy Top(w string), and cool Indian arrowhead treasure hunting! I witnessed my uncles woke up at 3:30 am to get farm, while my grandmother would be up hour early to prepare their lunches and breakfast. My biggest special time is “faking” I had lice to have my grandmother scratch for 5-10min my hair! I love and miss my grandma . My biggest regret is not seeing her find her younger brother( we’re split up into different families during the revolution). My grandpa was a talker. He had great stories that would keep you on your edge of your seat. No movies or Netflix , only wholesome family time…something I miss now with the hustle and bustle of life in US. My memory of my time there in my lovely Mexico were triggered by your channel..love you all for this.
Only 4 minutes in and I've already laughed my @$$ off🤣🤣🤣 This is like a hilarious immersive prank. Brooke's desire to stay and be a part of the experience made my heart happy!🥰
You guys are the best! It brought me to tears because lately I been feeling like I need more and more and more. Nice this nice that. I get caught up in materialistic things and I loose sight of what is actually important. Thank you for opening my eyes you guys keep doing what you guys do!
I love what you, collectively, do. This is, by far, the most moving video. Liam and Brooke have memories for life. I am sure that Yojan will remember this experience for a very long time.
This was just awesome I see many videos a day and this one has impacted me the most. I am very impressed with you guys seeing the real Mexico instead of Cancun. Great video.
thank you man for educating more people about how other people live, I grew up in a community just like that, started working when I was 8 years old, needless to say I stayed there until the age of 13 when I move to Mexico city because I just felt that there was a better way to earn a living, I was pretty much on my own at the age of 13 until the age of 18 that I came to the united states and I know that I had to learn the language in order to get a better paying job, the next day after I got here I went and sign myself up in a English class, I was 10 years old the last time I was in school but thank God I learnt and 5 years later I got my GED, it may not seem like much but for me it was a great accomplishment, in 1985 I joint the united states army and I am a veteran of desert storm made it rank of sergeant, believe me when I say, you being spending time with the little boy is going to change his life forever as well as yours, God bless , sometimes we just don't know how good we have it
Heartfelt!! Important message that always needs to get out: Let's help one another on this Earth. Such compassion when it comes from a great source, one soul to another, whether is be person to person, person helping animals, etc.
I been living in Mexico now over 40years, I also first lived like that, talking to little kids, you can get some good input on comunicating, family is everything, thanx for bringing back my memories of my early life in Mexico, and I still go to the store around the corner from me everyday if I need something,
When I was about 19 or 20 I met a white guy who spoke very fluent Spanish. I asked him how he learned English so well, he said when he was 13 he said his dad told him it was time for him to broaden his horizons so he took him to Mexico and abandoned him there .I was like what the heck
I've been spending way too much time on American politics, American Media, and American everything and came across this channel and what a breath of fresh air. I want more of it. I would love to experience it myself, but I really truly appreciate your channel
Nicely done. Respectful and educational for those who have never traveled outside of their, "bubble." I do hope a little bit or all of this video's earnings goes to that family.
You should do videos of south and Central America. I love watching my speaking Spanish people. They are truly the nicest people out there. I love your Mexico videos. They are my favorite by far. You are awesome
An absolutely beautiful experience that you captured through this video. I was born American, but I have family in Panama that I have visited several times, so I had a similar experience as Liam. I used to stay with my extended family for a week at a time once every few years, so I got reexposed throughout my formative years. But not being able to communicate and learning about the bathroom/shower and the other amenities or the lack thereof was a significant lifestyle change. I love what your video set out to do and accomplish because I believe it did very well. First of all, Liam was a great choice of character to experience this journey. He had some beautiful critical thinking skills that led to outstanding questions. If I could help him answer his questions with my point of view and experiences, I would say that "Ignorance can be Bliss," But the American Culture heavily values becoming an accomplished and successful individual. In contrast, Latin Culture is more rooted in being successful for/with your family. Many people will bring up the value of family in Latin cultures, but I think something Brooke observed was the 'simplicity' the lifestyle seems to bring. When American culture has such high expectations to perform but not how to evaluate your performance, it can be hard to feel like you are doing well or that you are making the right choices. With that domestic setting, it is much easier to know you are doing good, hard work because you can see the benefits for your family. It can help foster a hard work ethic and be a soothing experience for individuals who are used to feeling overwhelmed with their day-to-day life or are uncertain about their future. I would argue that this lifestyle can lead to healthier mental health. So to return to Liam's question, I believe this lifestyle can be better for some people to chase. I hope people seek a lifestyle that brings them positive and healthy memories and experiences, and I think your channel embraces some of those values. So I look forward to your future videos and your continued success!
You my friend are truly the most interesting man in the world. Thanks for the video documentaries. I've been watching them for hours, laughing, and a bit choked on occasion. I'll not forget this.
What a cool video✨ I'm mexican, i don’t live this kinda life right now i could probably say that i'm privileged but both my parents did grow up somewhat like that. And all i can say is that i have the best memories as a kid growing up in a farm without technology, i kinda wish things would still be like that sometimes. That’s where you find true happiness, in the simple things and enjoying spending time with our loved ones🤍 Pd: sorry if my English is bad, i don’t practice it enough.
I agree. Life is far more easier than we make it. I miss the simpler life too but learning to evolve and be humble is also a beautiful thing. If only u were closer. I'd love to practice English with you.
What a beautiful and moving documentary you created as your content. This is so special. I echo the other commentary below that this is a small Masterpiece. Really food for thought. Looking forward to discovering more with your channel!
This actually made me shed a tear.. or a handful. My family lives in Lebanon, i live in Denmark. Whenever i visit them and sleep at one of my aunts houses, my eyes open up a tad more to the reality of others. Lebanon does have functioning toilets, they just can’t flush toilet paper, so that experience is different ahaha. Most of my family there also work in supermarkets and other jobs that are relatively common in the west, but their living conditions and goals in life remind me closely of that of the family in the video. Beautiful people, children, mothers, fathers, communities and so much more beauty spread amongst those kind people. It brings me the same happiness as staying at a family members home in Lebanon, picking beans and making food in large batches. It brings me peace and appreciation of the things i have, even if i’m not the most blessed person with two cars or a big tv. I’m living a normal, great life that allows me to help my family in Lebanon financially as much as my paycheck allows. Thank you for this amazing video, God bless you all.
glad you guys put the efforts and kept smiling, the world is a tough place but most often it's easiest to find the bits of joy in an overall negative situation. that is their secret, Great video 👍👍😁
It is because of stress and bills, everything is expensive in the US. Do people in Mexico have bills and pay taxes?
@@dietlindvonhohenwald448yes we do pay bills and taxes.
@@dietlindvonhohenwald448yes. We have bills. Eg electricity, water, gas and yes. We do pay taxes.
Mexicans can adjust to anything.
I agree 100%

100% agree.

Watching them sing of God's greatness with such peace radiating from their faces, confirmed to me that joy can be found anywhere Christ is.
Such a beautiful hymn! Having God’s peace in any situation is such a blessing!
I'd never heard it in Spanish, how sweet

Oh yes we are like this. I am Mexican American too. You will always get food as a visitor and to go to a Mexican party just bring beer and it is an invite to the party
Here's the thing: People in the western world think that happiness is linked to money, material possessions and career success, where as people from Latin America are happy regardless of what life throws at them. It is a mindset. People in the western world are often cold, distant and unapproachable. Latinos are warm, open and friendly. The western world should maybe slow down a bit and learn from this culture.

Right!
@@cesarspencemarin7598 i met many Californian kids that are sad because they don’t have a mansion or an expensive car but I tell them be happy you have a family or shelter
@@dmybeloved many kids in my school hate each other because school is boring for them 😂

Maaaaan this is one of the best videos I've seen on YT
They were singing "How great thou are " to you my friend. Praise God !
I loved this video so much. I really hope theres a part 2 of them going back!! Same cast!
This one really brought some tears. Hopefully you guys return soon. You're family now!
Brown nosing much?
El Niño es bien tierno y buena gente. Se encariño rápido con el gringo. Ojala vuelvan pronto a visitarlo
That was a fire episode. Our family in Mexico are my fav people i ever met. You dont need as much as you think to be happy. Happiness is about LOVE
Only 4 minutes in and I've already laughed my @$$ off🤣🤣🤣
This is like a hilarious immersive prank.
Brooke's desire to stay and be a part of the experience made my heart happy!🥰
Glad you enjoyed the video 😄
Definitely don't want this to come off as a "prank" though, not the intention at all
You guys are the best!
This has the production value of a channel with 5 mil+ subs. I predict that's where you will go. I like this type of stuff.
Much appreciated 🙏🏼
thank you man for educating more people about how other people live, I grew up in a community just like that, started working when I was 8 years old, needless to say I stayed there until the age of 13 when I move to Mexico city because I just felt that there was a better way to earn a living, I was pretty much on my own at the age of 13 until the age of 18 that I came to the united states and I know that I had to learn the language in order to get a better paying job, the next day after I got here I went and sign myself up in a English class, I was 10 years old the last time I was in school but thank God I learnt and 5 years later I got my GED, it may not seem like much but for me it was a great accomplishment, in 1985 I joint the united states army and I am a veteran of desert storm made it rank of sergeant, believe me when I say, you being spending time with the little boy is going to change his life forever as well as yours, God bless , sometimes we just don't know how good we have it
It’s crazy how much you’ve improved jus thru your interactions with the people there, awesome vid
Heartfelt!! Important message that always needs to get out: Let's help one another on this Earth. Such compassion when it comes from a great source, one soul to another, whether is be person to person, person helping animals, etc.
You have no idea how much I needed this channel, thank you.
This was so wholesome. That little boy is so cool and sweet. Thanks for sharing.
The little boy! I cried what an awesome video.
I been living in Mexico now over 40years, I also first lived like that, talking to little kids, you can get some good input on comunicating, family is everything, thanx for bringing back my memories of my early life in Mexico, and I still go to the store around the corner from me everyday if I need something,
Thanks!
Thank you so much Raquelita ❤️
Laughing and crying with this one. Sweet family especially the children
When I was about 19 or 20 I met a white guy who spoke very fluent Spanish. I asked him how he learned English so well, he said when he was 13 he said his dad told him it was time for him to broaden his horizons so he took him to Mexico and abandoned him there .I was like what the heck
so... what happened next?? keep typing jeje i'm joking
you said it like it was weird to see white people in mexico bruh
I've been spending way too much time on American politics, American Media, and American everything and came across this channel and what a breath of fresh air. I want more of it. I would love to experience it myself, but I really truly appreciate your channel
I like how my notification only says "I abandoned my friend", I was like, "What a game changer for your channel"
😂
@@DiscoverConnection yooooo keep up the good work
@@articfox9895 Thank you, will do 😄
Nicely done. Respectful and educational for those who have never traveled outside of their, "bubble." I do hope a little bit or all of this video's earnings goes to that family.
Thanks for all the good times just by watching the videos I wish they can be longer I’ve enjoy them very much, and definitely am joining the patreon
Ayee much appreciated Alfredo ❤
Many Hispanic Americans in my school are sad because their parents don’t have expensive things but I tell them be happy you have a house
I absolutely love this sentiment. What a phenomenal way to start my week, with a different perspective! This made my soul happy!
You my friend are truly the most interesting man in the world. Thanks for the video documentaries. I've been watching them for hours, laughing, and a bit choked on occasion. I'll not forget this.
Isn't it amazing what just 2 days can create between human beings. Wow. Beautiful video!
That was beautiful and real. Great video guys. Also... good job to Liam and his honest introspection.
That’s where you find true happiness, in the simple things and enjoying spending time with our loved ones🤍
Pd: sorry if my English is bad, i don’t practice it enough.
I agree. Life is far more easier than we make it. I miss the simpler life too but learning to evolve and be humble is also a beautiful thing. If only u were closer. I'd love to practice English with you.
@@THEFINESTINTROVERTS aw you’re so nice! Hope i can travel some day so i can practice more☺️
Your English is fine
Loved this video. I lived six months in Mexico. It really affected me in a good way.
What a beautiful and moving documentary you created as your content. This is so special. I echo the other commentary below that this is a small Masterpiece. Really food for thought. Looking forward to discovering more with your channel!
Thank you Anibal ❤
I love watching your videos. Especially because I can understand both languages perfectly. I feel blessed
Brooke wanting to stay and immerse herself in the culture! What a find! She is my spirit animal
