Yeah, it's not something you see that often! Only other examples I can think of that have a random mode are the Digitech Turbo Flange and the Line 6 Liqua Flange.
I notice that Flange is like having high Gain on tap, a potentially powerful sound tool, but one which should be carefully used. All those control parameters can allow one to do just that; or, to make a huge mess.

Totally, flanger is a weapon not everyone likes/handle. Mess is good though.
Flanger was one of those meh fx for me but pretty interested on how this sounds!
