😍Memories light the corners of my mind. Misty water coloured memories of the way we were!🎶 Thank you for a lovely walk thru my old stomping grounds when I lived in this neighbourhood for two years forty years ago. I worked at the Royal Lancaster and walked these streets and mews daily! I can't believe it is still recognisable! Our staff pub was the Archery on Bathurst and I always think of there at Christmas because we were all sitting around the tables and in walked a little horse with a lantern on its head! As a charity collection. Good times! Thank you big time! 😘🤗
I have been motivated to start a UA-cam channel to help people have a better and quality life using photography because of the quality of videos and the impact they have had in my life. Thank you for helping me and also keep up the good work.

Thank you for this beautiful stroll among the charming and so well decorated various mews. I particularly loved the Sussex Gardens area. I am looking forward to seeing your next video !
Your program is like a dream to me. When I am trying to get to sleep I watch this beautiful video and it is perfect. I have never been to London or England but always wished I had. I think this is the 3rd walk I have been on. Bless you sweet blogger for giving us this chance. From New Zealand ❤️
Thank you for this walk/video! I've been fortunate enough to have visited London several times; we've stayed near Paddington most often. I've always loved London/the UK and seeing this makes me feel completely warm and at home. 17:30: The Victoria. My favorite pub/bar anywhere, a truly special place. Quite a few dinners, pints, and conversations with friends old and new. Spot the Victorian painted mirrors - and the one that's slightly different, as it replaced an original due to a WWII bomb blast. Someday, hopefully very soon, I'll be able to return and explore these beautiful mews that I've somehow missed all these years. Cheers!
I haven’t seen all of your videos as yet Sanpo, but of those that I have, this just has to be my favourite. Some of the twists and turns were unexpectedly breathtaking! You cannot imagine how much your videos mean to me (and my husband as we are both permanently disabled and housebound) such a joy to view such lovely places I have never seen before. Please keep up your amazing work - yes, even in the rain if you can! Wonder if we will get any snow this winter, a walk in the snow would be fantastic! ☃️❄️❄️❄️ 🙂
Thank you Jane, I’m glad you are enjoying my videos. It was great to walk thought Paddington and see things I didn’t know. I will definitely do a snow walk if we are lucky enough to have snow this year.
What a wonderful way to spend nearly 40 minutes. You make my most favourite videos. They are peaceful and relaxing. I also liked the way that some people greeted you and you replied. Such lovely manners. Often in London one may as well be invisible. No one speaks. Thank you for the video :)
Hello Susan, thank you for your kind words! I am a bit nervous that people will react badly when I am filming but most people are friendly and sometimes chatty.
What a beautiful walk Sanpo, We don't often go off the beaten track down mews and cut throughs when we walk about London. I never knew there were so many alleyways and side streets in Paddington. Thanks again from a vintage Londoner.
My mums stomping ground as a kid. She lived in Elnathan mews which had the dray horses stabled on the ground floor and family’s lived on top...just over a few streets in Maida Vale (though she said it still Paddington?) behind Warwick Avenue. She told me the council moved everybody out of those homes and across to Braden street and Praed street areas.
This is my most favourite video of London. I stayed with fond memories in Norfolk place on a school holiday trip for a whole week back in 1977 and went back to this particular area in 1987 where I took my father with me and we both stayed in the same hotel for a fortnite long
Thank you for answering a huge question of mine. When I visit London and see people horse riding around the park I've always wondered where the horses are kept in the centre of London. Now I know not all the mews have been transformed into flats.
Thanks for the video I really enjoyed bcz this place was my childhood place where I used to go shopping through this road to edgwar road also used to visit from my primary school to Paddington station, the British rail side .👍
Yes, more nostalgic memories as i used to cycle these roads on my way into the West End from my gaff off Westbourne grove. You could almost smell the leaves! It's funny how some places look EXACTLY the same yet others have changed. Good work as always.
The Mews were just beautiful like a country village, St.Mary's Hospital......What a beautifully built Structure.....so much history in London! We had some beautiful structures like London in NYC years ago but because Real Estate value on land in NYC became so high, they tore down all those beautiful structures and built Sky Scrapers where they could extract more money! Your videos are valuable and beautiful. Walt in Miami
Your videos makes me relax and achieved tranquillity without physically doing the walking. It opens up the world to places that you always dream of visiting. Thanks for the series of well planned videos. Keep up with your good work!
Gee, another great video, with another great improvement (CC). I almost flipped off when I actually saw horses in mews. But I did wonder where they are keeping horses that stroll through Hyde Park. Now I know, of course, in mews, lol. Backward walking is great technique, often used in movies. Too bad walkers cannot walk backwards all the time, :) .
If I ever visit London again, I will follow your footsteps and walk these hidden alleys. I would not want to live in those standardised so called modern luxury apartments, but rather choose those charming little 2 stories stables that have so much characters. Thank you for sharing your walks with us. Bravo.
Sorry, made a mistake there, it was good to walk along some of the streets & see places I knew, I wish I'd known about the Mews, I would have had a look, thanks for that, I enjoyed it again !!😀😀
Thoroughly enjoyed the walk, thank you! The additional information is greatly appreciated. The fully landscaped mews at 29.14 was so tranquil, love it. It is really tempting to rent a small apartment in one of these mews, if available, for a couple of months to explore London and other parts of England. Wondering if ten thousand pounds per month is adequate to rent a nice place and pay for all the living expenses. Is that a realistic number? Again, thank you for the walk! Well done!
They would once have belonged to the grand houses around them, as stables (and later, garages). The grooms (and later the chauffeurs) would have also occupied them. The word "mews" actually means a place where falcons were housed during their moulting season, back in days of yore.
Hello Sanpo Loved the walk. Our first three times we stay in London was in this area. We stayed at the Royal Lancaster which you walked by twice. When you came out of the first mews you turn right, but just to the left is a hardware store I had to go in buy some gaffer tape to fix up our luggage that had been damaged. While staying at the Royal Lancaster we used to see the horses coming out of mews going to Hyde park, but had not actually seen where they came from, it was great to see the mews as they might have been in the old times. Then St Marys Hospital at the end is cool because that is where my grandfather was born in 1903 and behind is one our favourite places, Paddington basin. Sandra picked out the yellow Hummer at the beginning. How is the lock down going? Stay safe Chris and Sandra of Canada.
Hello Chris and Sandra, Sandra has a great eyes although the hammer is very obvious once it has been pointed out. I knew about the mews in the area but I was surprised that horses are still kept there. Our lock down is going okay just two and half more weeks to go. Take care.
I love the white Labrador dog walking out of the tube station at 1:21 and looking left and right to get his bearings, like any other traveler ! I hope you know your way home, little buddy ! BTW, where do you keep your Oyster card ?
