- Orange can be made by mixing yellow and red. But as always, there are different oranges, yellows and reds. In this video I'll show some possibilities but of course the main goal is to try to demonstrate the principles of color mixing.
Colors used in this video: primary yellow (or cadmium yellow light, or azo yellow light, or hansa yellow light), pyrrole red, carmine red and magenta.
For a vivid orange use pyrrole red and primary yellow (or similar colors). For a dull orange add a little bit of blue or use a yellow with a green bias and/or a red with a purple bias.

Could you maybe make a video how to mix a dark yellow, without it getting muddy?
That's a good idea, I'll put it on my list. For now: the complementary color of yellow is purple. If you have exactly the right kind of purple, then you'll get a darker yellow that's grey. If it turns out more to the green side, then the amoont of blue in the purple is slightly too high, if it gets to brown, then the amount of red in the purple is slightly to high.
forgot to say that the complementary color is a great way to make this color dark😂
