This looks amazing! Two questions for you. When do you estimate this firmware will receive a full release? Also, do Mario 64 rom hacks run natively, too?
Hi, not sure about an official release, but I would say it's months away just based on the progress I've seen the past couple of months, and the bugs that are left to fix. I don't think rom hacks will work on the SM64 port, but please let me know if you try!
The firmware will probably only be marked as stable once HDMI is supported, and all the other bugs are fixed. Also, rom hacks can't work natively unless they have been ported to the SM64 codebase and their source code made available. (So far, nobody has done either, despite some rom hackers already using the source code)
I find these devices almost unplayable because the lowest brightness and lowest volume settings are simply too high. Do you know any way to access these settings and reduce them beyond the minimum?
Still looks like total arse. These guys REALLY need to hire a UX/UI Designer. The horrendous interface design is the main reason I won't buy an OpenDingux device anymore. It's lazy and dated and looks about as bad as websites did in the early 90s - or the first Motorola phone UIs. It's high, high time to sort it out.
people get opendingux devices for their performance, not their looks of UI. the point of these devices are to play games, not to stare at home screen UI
@@Vampsune I disagree - people get Opendingux devices because there isn't enough viable alternatives at the moment. However you do have a point about games being the main point - but why can't we have both? - a modern design and the performance people do like about Opendingux? Surely you'd agree the OS is due for a visual overhaul?
@@brunojenso261 I don’t know what an OpenDingux device is. I’m assuming you’re referring to Anbernic devices. OpenDingux doesn’t have any devices, they’re purely software made for emulation system use, etc. For me, when it comes to UI I really don’t mind. I mean the Anbernic team has at least developed the canvas, which is a full fledged emulation system that runs classic consoles. If you’re smart enough to know about front-ends, SimpleMenu, 350etic, Rogue are great and quite easy to use to mess with things such as UI if that’s your thing. But I definitely wouldn’t expect anything special UI wise for OpenDingux Beta (your original comment on this video) like cmon it’s called beta for a reason😂
How do I remove a game or emulator? I deleted the opk file and the .xyz folder, the icon remains on the home screen. I don't want a chaos on the screen.

Don't expect Reicast to run on it... Last attempt was it using an interpreter for the CPU that was slow as balls as they never wrote an SH4 to MIPS32r2 dynarec for it. There are plans however to improve PS1 emulation, including some games that don't work.
Is there any update on a possible RG351P port for OpenDingux?
I haven’t heard anything lately, I think JohnnyonFlame (the developer who was working on it, iirc) ran into a roadblock.
I got an OpenDingux like firmware that works on it but the issue is that SDL 1.2 needs to be rotated by 270 degrees due to the screen and i wasn't able to do it properly without the apps crashing in spectacular fashion... Still working on a solution for that.
@@gameblabla Please release an OpenDingux firmware for the RG351P, I just can't really configure the RetroArch thing properly on many emulators!
Any more updates on this? Thanks if you reply!
It gets updated nearly every day, but unfortunately they don't maintain a changelog. If you want, you could peek in the OpenDingux-Dev channel in the RGH Discord and see what they're up to: discord.com/invite/SHq4ssp
Are you Eta Prime?
Yes, we are exactly the same person. Our voices and hands may sound/look different, but that's because he wears elaborate gloves and uses voice-altering software on that other, less successful, channel of his/mine :)
@@RetroGameCorps Thanks man i love your job. I always watch your videos.
will mario 64 opk run on the 280v?
I have to try this out that would be insane
when is the full one will be release
It’s still in Beta but it’s matured a lot even since this video!
hello, i hope somebody can help me.
ive installed opendingux beta on my rg350, super mario is working really damn fine but i have problems with all the doom mods i think.
i got some mods, f.e. batman doom... all vanilla and boom supported .wad files.
i tried the method using the freedoom.opk file and OpenPackageCreator.
the only mod working until now was "Chex Quest"....
I also tried PreBoom method, but it seems like its not working on opendingux beta... any suggestions?
i followed your guide on modded doom games very strictly.
How do you run n64 on the mupen64plus? mine is worse than base?!?!
The Mupen64Plus still sucks on this firmware. The developer recompiled it just to see what it would do, and unfortunately it just can't handle the N64 system requirements.
@@RetroGameCorps Thanks, would love to see it better in the future tho :/
Can u put this on the pocket go 2 v2
I'm not sure. Theoretically it could, but I don't have one to test...
Nope, not yet as it's not supported by the beta FW. (it will eventually)
@@gameblabla ldk game?
Will this work on 350M as well?
Yes!
I enjoy your videos an webpage but there have been many updates since you made this video, and your webpage is outdated. Any plans of updating your info?
What updates are missing? I’d be happy to make the adjustments.
Your latest info on opendingux is from des, 05, i tried your link several times since then and the latest is from des 29 as of today. Sorry for Anny missunderstandings, i have dysleksia and english is not my native language. I realy enjoy your channel and webpage.
@@roycowboy3286 I’ll see what changes have been implemented since then, as far as I know there hasn’t been a lot on the GitHub commits page.
@@RetroGameCorps thx for replying, that would really Be apreciated, i know im not the only one interested in this
Does anyone know if the gameboy emulator on this firmware has a speed up option?
Yes, the Gambatte emulator for the BETA has a Fast Forward function.
@@RetroGameCorps I have Gambette already but can't identify the fast forward function? :)
@@RetroGameCorps Sorry, missed your point. I obviously need to update my version to one of the later beta versions. Thank you.
@@airrunner85 here is the latest version, which is OD Beta compatible. The FF function is in Settings > Controls > Fast Forward > Hotkey Toggle, then save the default settings. After that, Press L1 to toggle it on/off. github.com/bardeci/gambatte-dms/releases
anybody, please, give me a link to nightly opendingus from zcrc.me to install on rg280v, thanks
Does it include RG350M?
Yes! I show the RG350M in particular for the first half of the video.
@@RetroGameCorps Thanks. I asked the question before I finished the video. Keep up the good work.
Where do I download this?
Check out the written guide linked below the video!
@gameblabla @Retro Game Corps Okay, I gotcha! Thank you guys for your help!
hi, if i change the sd card for another sd card of better quality can i improve the system a bit?
I find these devices almost unplayable because the lowest brightness and lowest volume settings are simply too high. Do you know any way to access these settings and reduce them beyond the minimum?
Do you think I can run Half life?
Unfortunately this chipset won't be powerful enough for Half-Life.
@@RetroGameCorps According to Google, there is a version of Half life for the GP32 which came out in 2001
Alguno que haga el video en spanish
No arcade. So not for me.
Someone just sent me a couple OPKs (MAME4all and FBA) that work on the beta, I've updated my written guide to include them. Hope that helps!
This stupid thing has always been in beta, I regret buying mine it’s bloody awful.
