  • This 1987 Peterbilt represents the last year the 359 was produced, this truck is # 357 of the 359 built that final year. A special dash plaque, kick panel logo and fenders confirm the story. Seen at the 2012 CNY ATHS chapter show in Syracuse, NY.

Love the 359 long hood and flat top sleepers. They just look right. Not out of proportion. I've driven the 379 and 377s plus the KW900Ls. This one here is really cool.

I own a 1974 Peterbilt 359-A with a Big Cam 400 Cummins with a 13 speed Eaton Fuller Transmission with 36" box sleeper, I use it for pulling my Hopper Bottom.

In September 2018, I saw a 359 ext/hood walk-in sleeper in the backwoods of Louisiana while visiting a friend. For some reason, I think it would be a 77/82 model with the bigger stacks that only came on the KTA600 and the 3408's those years and no steps after the fuel tanks. This truck was cream with the darker brown and white stripes an I think that was the last years of that color combo. It was all there and the truck looked good but it has been sitting for a while by the look of the weeds, tires, and stuff. Been thinking about asking them if they wanted to get rid of it. Had a 79 ext/hood model with the 3408 6x4 with the stainless transmission oil coolers on the right side by the air filter.

Although my 2006 379 PETE is showing in my avatar to the left. I like my 1978 359 model better. I have been restoring it for about a year now. Can't wait to finish it, but it will always be a project in the makings. Never ending.
