Wow!! As a Gothic horror fan this is heaven. They really thought about utilising all the angles this year. Up, down, left, right. The masks are on point and the shadow projectors.
LOVE THIS! The corridor with all the Invisible Man clones was so well done. The hunchback jumping at you ftom above was so unexpected. I wish we had some more time was Quasi at the end. It feels they were afraid to do much with him since he's not evil like the others.
Quasi caught me off guard, I dropped a bit and grabbed the wall. I may have even blacked out a second or two. I heard a room attendant ask if I was ok. 😂
This one was the best! When you walk through the opera house with the posters and flowers on the wall it smells like roses. But after you turn the corner with the chair scene it smells terrible. I have no clue what it's supposed to smell like but it was v spooky.
omg when i went with my group, there was a scare actor in the box at 1:16 cutting the dude's face off and we were screaming "not raoul!!!!" and he seemed to get a kick out of it
I live in California and after seeing this and comparing it to the others I think this is the best Universal Monsters haunted house in Orlando it's so good The creativity is amazing
My brother and I did 8 out of the 10 houses. The only ones we missed were Chucky and The Darkest Deal. Out of the 8 we did, this one was our favorite. The others were good, but this one just went above and beyond with set design. And the scares were on point. Overall a great experience.
That was actually way better then the other two ("The Last Of Us" and "Chucky"), because this haunted house is not really based on a specific movie, and so this allows for a better environment and more variety.
Can't believe its already September and Halloween is next month. I love Halloween it's always fun and there is always new things every year. Have you guys been to madworld it's near me and every year it gets better.
As haunted houses go, that looked pretty impressive. Well designed and really great the way you couldn't see anyone until they were on top of you. Noticeably few shrieks from the patrons, but it looked jolly good fun anyway.
I literally screamed “you betta work, Erik!!!!” at 3:23. I just wish they gave him a punjab lasso as a weapon and not a knife, but I know that can be hard to translate when scaring people.
Was very confused who the monster with the audibly sharp blade was. Not until the end after looking for the Phantom did i realize that was him the whole time. Um, monsters are like Saints, they are recognised by their iconography. The Phantom's weapon is a bleepin' ROPE. The heck.
Christ on a stick! I actually visited HHN 2023 and I can't believe I missed this one. It's good for them to return to their roots and make a more traditional Gothic horror attraction.
The original Phantom from the 1925 film and the book wasn’t so charmed. His face was horribly disfigured and he would cause accidents, blackmail, manipulate, and murder to feed his obsession of Christine. The musicals changed him to be more sympathetic and tragic. They also made his face less disfigured so actors could emote and appear more humanized.
Universal turned Erik into a monster :( I'm still happy that he is included, at least? Because i would scream his name and send him a little kiss 🤭 Well but they turned Quasimodo into a murderous monster as well... it's tragic.
@@StormX6 First of all, his name is ERIK, not "phantom". And what a shame to mention the novel, trying to "teach" an actual Phan with misinformation. Then again, your comment proves my point. You think he is a monster because he is "horribly disfigured"; and he was literally abused because of his face. True, the 2004 movie made him handsome, but he was turned into a groomer... but you think 2004 Erik is more likable than the original because he is handsome. Oh Gods. In the musical he killed Buquet and Piangi for no particular reason, in the original novel AND 1925s movie, he didn't. Erik blackmailed the managers, only, and that doesn't turn him into a "monster" lol he was an outcast and built the Opera Garnier, 20.000 francs was the MINIMAL that he deserved. He is the manipulated and easily dominated one, Christine had everything under her control, she is not a defenseless dame neither a poor helpess victim. But of course, Erik, a tragic, sympathetic abuse survivor (anti-hero, or at worst anti-villain, yet still not a villain) who loved Christine and only wished to be treated as a human being... is the "monster". Typical 🙄
I can’t wait this the house i am looking forward too the most I love Phantom I know it’s more of a book look creepier look then look from the musical but still it’s one of my favorite musicals!!! Down once more to the dungeon of my dark despair down we plunge to the prison of my mind!!!!
I went to this a few weeks ago and my first encounter with The Phantom of the Opera startled me and the actor added to it by screaming, "I'll wear your face!"
The physical set is amazing high Hollywood budget, but they're not even Jump Scares the 2019 Univeral Monsters Maze was actually scary and dark with actual Jump Scares
I wanna know as a Phantom fan why they only put Christine in there once.if she’s the object of his obsession and hes supposed to be a crazy scary psycho shouldn’t she have more appearances?
i went yesterday and it was pitch black and didn’t have half those scares… i literally couldn’t see where i was walking half the time and had to hold on the strangers in front of me. it was my first house of the night and i was super disappointed
Hi! I have some questions hope you could help me solve them 😅 This is inside one of the parks? if that’s the case it is universal studios or islands of adventure? if so do you get access to all the park attractions during the horror nights? And about closing hours, I know it’s variable but a range would be helpful 😅 Hope you can help me, thanks in advance!
Quasimodo and Phantom don't deserve the slander! They're not horror (ok Phantom kind of threatened to murder someone, but he's just misunderstood ^w^) Quasi is a legit good guy whose whole moral was about "scary" looking people being shunned/discriminated. He shouldn't be there at all!
Yeah but no. The only good thing they both did in their respecting stories was to let the women they love free. In Notre Dame de Paris, Quasimodo's heart is full of hatred towards the people of Paris who rejects him for his difformity, the one who showed him kindness were Frollo (at least in his childhood) and Esmeralda. But he still has predatory behavior towards her (she is 14) like all the men in the book. For the justice for the innocents theme, it's pretty in modern adaptations likes 1939 version of the Hunchback of Notre Dame and the Disney version. The original was more about the importance of the cathedral itself than the characters. The building was threathen to be destroyed back in Hugo's time. Sorry for the long comment.
What can we do about it? They're ignorant idiots who included two tragic and sympathetic characters (Quasimodo and Erik) as monsters. The same way their abusers did in their stories. The world will never change... what we can do is love these characters for who they actually are and ignore Universal's BS.
@@МаксимЛяшко-и3ъ Lmao ableist term aside, Erik "couldn't help" the way he was treated his entire life. Abandoned, abused, dehumanized, eslaved. Do you think someone under this circunstamces would turn out okay? Erik is not a 'perfect victim', no one is. And calling him a monster only proves my point. Erik is a morally grey character. He's nuanced. Unlike some people think, he never killed innocent people. He turned into more villainous actions in the end of the novel, but he made up for his mistakes and let Christine go. I'm really not in the mood for discussion, specially sorrounding such an exhausting topic like Erik's morality. So I'll let the discussion here.
The sets are amazing but the actual scares are very repetitive and scripted. It’s the same in every maze. There aren’t any organic unscripted interactions with guests. Knott’s may not have IP mazes but their monsters are more impressive and interactive IMO.
Well luckily - if she’s telling the truth - she’ll win in court. They’ll end up with a lawsuit. He’s actually wrong. He can’t just charge her with DUI based on observations. The manipulative leading statements. “We all make mistakes” - The gaslighting is astounding. All she needs to do is get a lawyer and have a blood test. DWI won’t even stick once she appears - she get it reduced to reckless driving and have to take a safety course and pay court costs. She’ll be ok.
This might sound weird but that house was adorable and actually apriciated the "monsters". The set design was really good on this one.
This house was the scariest one for me opening night, hands down lol
this one actually scared me. I think it was the sounds tbh.
Wow!! As a Gothic horror fan this is heaven. They really thought about utilising all the angles this year. Up, down, left, right. The masks are on point and the shadow projectors.
Abouslutely people talk about horor now not as a art form but a trend but this is amazing you can't beat the classics

This was my favorite house this year!! And the triple scare at the end was just perfection!
I went tonight, between this and Chucky, this was much more fun.
omg AGREED!!
I'm really happy to see them use the underrated horror creatures. Seeing them do Frankenstein/Drac/Wolfman/Bride/Mummy got a little old.
Omg I love how they did this. It’s the phantom is so to the book when it comes to how they designed him
the set design for the open street sections are phenomenal. If they keep going in this direction we'll get something on par with Gothic
This one was the best! When you walk through the opera house with the posters and flowers on the wall it smells like roses. But after you turn the corner with the chair scene it smells terrible. I have no clue what it's supposed to smell like but it was v spooky.
I'd be going through yelling - "I Love your Broadway shows!!!!"
omg when i went with my group, there was a scare actor in the box at 1:16 cutting the dude's face off and we were screaming "not raoul!!!!" and he seemed to get a kick out of it
Classic monsters are fantastic. This house looks great. Thanks for the look inside
I live in California and after seeing this and comparing it to the others I think this is the best Universal Monsters haunted house in Orlando it's so good

Also I feel like even though that Hollywood’s was a better haunted house, I like the story in Orlando a bit better

I would also like to request an organ fanfare every time I enter a room please thank you.

Yeah the Chucky one was pretty eh. I'm not a super critical person but the it just felt pretty low quality
SO excited for this one! The sets and costumes look amazing! It definitely seems like some houses got better budgets than others this year...
The Monsters mazes are usually pretty great. I'm looking very forward to getting to HHN at USH so I can see their version too! This is cool :)
He’s there the Phantom of the Opera
This one was way better than the one from the previous year
THE MAZE IS COOL!

Erik/Phantom SLAYYYYEEED!!! literally too!!

Yes he did 💅
Goth prince babygirl 😍
The invisible was the best part..
Was it good? I did not see it…
Got to hand it to Universal, they know how to do it! They make Merlin’s walk through’s look like a fairground play house 😂
@bp19870 what’s your problem with Dueling Dragons: Choose Thy Fate
I love universal monsters I saw them at beetlejuice show

UNIVERSAL MONSTERS UNMASKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m sorry. The Phantom of The Opera is usually not like this. He’s usually such a Gentleman, and an absolute Apollo!

Universal Studios HHN “UNMASKED” Horror Maze
Starring: Clay aka Dream
This house was great
This was one of the best houses ever
I hope they do an alien one next year
The best of the event
This is definitely my favorite house for hhn 32
The physical set is amazing high Hollywood budget, but they're not even Jump Scares the 2019 Univeral Monsters Maze was actually scary and dark with actual Jump Scares
Lol I’m watching while here cuz line too long haha. Love this maze tho
This is scary!!
They should stick to more classic movies! The newer movie themed houses dont seem as authentic/involved
Wanting to move to universal Studios
Jonathan the actor
BC make it happen 😀
I think im going to go to Florida instead of California for the next hnn I go to....
I wanna know as a

Does anyone know who the girl in the hat is in front of them?
Not bad. Last years legends unite seemed better.
