All these quad cortex vids start in my feed the moment I bought a gt 1000. The algorithms are tryin to make me feel bad.

Kinda three radically different Marshalls being emulated, no?

We are in times where the technology in modelers sounds so good that professional bands are using it, I don't know if in the video you use a modeling amplifier or a capture in the case of QC, if it is the case I will consider it as a small advantage for the QC, the two modelers are amazing and the question would be, what would you use it for? in my particular case I use it to practice with my band and for events, looking for comfort and a friendly interface, that's why I decided on the QC, it's easy to use and create presets quickly, easy to transport, thanks to its power it allows me to connect two guitars and a bass and it's all we use i chose it for those reasons fractal for me is more for experimentation as it allows for more advanced setup and is more tweakable although it's a bit more complicated to use and bigger in its more complete versions, I would love to experiment with fractal sounds but at this moment the needs of the band are different, in short the two modelers are great and sound very good, depending on what you need it will be your decision

Real amp, FM3, Quad for me. Seems like too much treble on all, but maybe works in a mix. All sound good and useable live or recorded.

Yes, you’re right, these settings are what I normally dial in for a live setting and the bump in high mids and treble really keeps you from getting buried. That, and I’m accustomed to Marshall’s inherent trebly presence.

Thanks for the video, but I think it's hard to compare the two as they can all be tweaked to sound the same. The quad cortex sounded the worst to me on the metal setting, but I own the QC and i e q the warmth in to taste. Both incredible units.

Great video! Both sound great! In the case of QC did you use factory amp simulations or did you use some capture ?
    All the best

I wish this had been done blind. I definitely have a bias towards fractal. That said I really liked the quad cortex, the amp modeling is stellar!

To my ears Fractal sounds more like a real Amp. It’s crisp and clean
Qc has a bit of fuzzy noise

I prefer QC but lack of effects diferent colors for the scenes in the footswitces and the cheap power transformer makes me wait until see the final development. Mi Helix from 6 years ago can do things that QC not, and 1800 euros...

I’ve been a Helix user for the past 6 years, bought the cortex and the Helix is collecting dust. QC is wayyyy far superior in sounds. In my case I don’t care about tons of effects, I wanted something that sounded great out of the bat and that is the QC.
I do miss the scribble strips and other things but you’ll get use to it pretty quick.

QC is as organic as the Marshall and way more defined than the Fractal... Not sure why but there is magic in the overall sound definition of the QC... Fractal seemed anemic... Good video sound is crisp and clean...

Cursed with perfect pitch since birth but don't believe me. Ask someone to spend the few minutes the video lasts and have them blind test and state what they hear. There are mids fully defined in the QC capture that are just ignored by the Fractal and otherwise pushed upward or downward in regards to frquency. They brag about the algorithm being perfect and it may very well be plus just like at the end of the Van Halen Hotel California video "THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINING"...

The quad cortex seemed sterile and bland - and the fractal just seem to bloom in an unbelievable quality of aural bliss !!!

Exactly. Fractal sound lacks bass, there is no thickness in the sound

@@soundimages77630 Who cares if you have perfect pitch? The QC sucked compared to the FM3 that costs 900 less. Let's compare the FM9 Turbo which costs a bit less than the QC and it blows the QC out of orbit.

Neither one can duplicate the actual amp since both the QC and FM3 add low frequencies.

QC had a harshness in the treble when gain was introduced on crunch and metal that the real amp and Fractal didn’t have. Clean they all sounded really good. QC was instantly brought to the bottom of my list by that distortion tone…
