Hi we were ready to throw away our Christmas inflatable and we took your advice and shhok the motor and now it works!!! Good old UA-cam! Thank you! Merry Christmas!
Shaking worked for me! Thank you! My best guess for why it works is that shaft is dirty and needs to cleaned and oiled - and shaking gets it free (temporarily).
Most likely there is something stuck in the motor, like a piece of grass or something. One other time we had a motor where the blades of the motor were too long and were scrapping the sides of the motor case which caused an irritating noise, but eventually the blades shortened due to scrapping against the sides. Other than that we only have a couple of inflatables that make a buzzing noise when there is nothing stuck in the motor and we can usually get the noise to go away by shaking the motor a bit. Not really sure what causes this noise, could be something loose inside of the motor.
I have one of those polar bear inflatables that is supposed to turn its head. It inflates, but the head doesn't turn now, do you know how that can be fixed?
It might. Sometimes our motors will stop working so we bring it inside and let it dry out for a couple of days and it works again. Couldn't hurt to try.
Thank you for this video! Based on your experience do you know what needs to be replaced if the lights blink and fan pulses but it won’t actually stay on? Tried a different adapter and that didn’t work. Sadly only had this two days, one of the days was rainy so moved it onto the porch from the yard. Worked on the porch one day but now won’t blow up again and has the flashing/pulsing symptom.
Usually that means it needs a new adapter, sometimes letting it dry out works, but you've already tried those. How many things do you have plugged into the extension cord this one is on? Does it work if you plug it directly into the outlet inside your home? Sometimes when this happens to us the inflatables just start working again one day. If you're still having the issue even when it's plugged directly into an outlet then unfortunately you might need to replace the motor.
Yeah if the lights turn on but the motor doesn't turn on then the problem is most likely with the motor. I haven't tried fixing the motor itself and probably in most cases it can't be fixed. You can find motors on Amazon for 20-40 dollars, in most cases it's cheaper to just buy a new inflatable. If this is an inflatable you really like and want to use it again someday you should check out the stores after the holidays, you might be able to find one of similar size to yours that is 50% to 75% off and just use the motor from that one to put into your current broken one. Would probably be a lot cheaper than buying a motor.
Unlikely it would be the power adapter. How did you add the new lights? Did you replace the motor with a motor that came with lights, or did you splice new lights into the old wiring?
@@Braando93 one of the wires from the old wiring should have a red stripe on it (might be a different color but usually red), the new wiring should have a wire that also has a stripe on it (usually black or grey), make sure the wires with the stripes are spliced together and the wires with no stripes are spliced together.
@@HolidayHouse5777 yes they are. I plugged the same lights onto another fan and they worked. Process of elimination. Have you ever had a fan that ran but new lights wouldn’t?
Please help me I lost the plug for my 2009 Mickey mouse inflatable I do not have an fan and plug for it I'm going to have to take one of the fan out of my snowman inflatable and then put it in there I will I will also put lights in it
No light and the motor isn't working? It is probably the power adapter. The good news is that is the easiest problem to fix, the bad news is the power adapter alone could cost you around 15 dollars, which could cost almost as much as the inflatable depending on the inflatable. You could try calling the 800 number and they might send you a replacement part since it is so new. These motors don't typically stop working after just a month, but we have had that happen several times over the years so it does happen. Sometimes the problem is the fan has ice on it or is just really wet and after letting it dry out for a couple of days it will start working again.
Yeah it's not a good sign when that happens. We have had several motors over the years smell like they are burning but there was no actual smoke, and a few of those ended up being just fine the next day or two, the others the motors burnt out and we had to replace them. We have only had one that was actually smoking and the motor was fried and had to be replaced.
It sounds like your fan was jammed. The debris was dislodged when you shook it, allowing the fan blades to move. But it lodged into a fan blade again & started to burn up the motor. You always want to check the openings of the fan for any debris & take a screwdriver to move the fan blades until you feel no resistance & they move with ease.
mine still working but is not that much power in it so i think i should have soon replaced but dont know how to do this :-( dont wanna broken the material ,if you can see how to do this it could be awesome 😊

@@lorddabber3016 that’s awesome, glad you got it working. That’s also a good theory.
The shaking worked like a charm. Gracias.

Thank you, this helped fix my brand new Halloween inflatable that came broken!
That's awesome!

Very useful for me . One of my Halloween inflatables was down and i shook the motor and it worksa now . Im very happy :)
Awesome. Glad to hear it’s working.

Thanks so much u saved my jack infallible 😢❤ it's not working on my ogy but I hope it will I waiting for it to dry out more 🎉😊❤
Glad to hear you got at least one inflatable working.

Sorry afraid not, I haven't gotten into trying to fix animated inflatables yet.
Thanks for the video . Definitely help with what to do or buy
You're very welcome!
1 question I don’t know if I have to live the air on or is something the I have to do for the air to stay inside I appreciated the help thanks
Mine got water in it, think if I let it air out it’ll work?, water only got in the motor not on plug
It might. Sometimes our motors will stop working so we bring it inside and let it dry out for a couple of days and it works again. Couldn't hurt to try.
My motor is working but seems like not enough air is being pushed out to fully inflate? I checked for leaks and see noe?

This just happened to me. Santa that pops in and out of a chimney. Did you ever solve the issue?
The light is blinking on mine and the moter is skipping, how do i fix this
Sometimes shaking the motor works for us too when this happens. If not you could try using a new adapter.
I hear a small ticking when the inflatable is plugged in. Can that be an issue of a shortage?
I haven't ran mine for days and now one won't inflate. It ain't the power adapter or the outlet it's the fan motor but it does light up

@@HolidayHouse5777 spliced new lights onto the old wiring from motor.
Thinking it has to be where light wires splice into actually fan..?

Unfortunately you probably need a new motor.

It sounds like you have a tear or hole in the lining that needs to be patched up.

Just spray with electronical spraying liquid. Try to clean any components inside fan.
Mine has no light, it’s brand new just got it a month ago it was working a few nights ago

@@monika1987rokrokYou should see a zip tie holding the fan in place. Just cut & install new fan with a new zip tie. There’s not much to these things.
