  • We bumped into Carey McMahon, who competes in Group A Historics, at Croydon Racing Developments. He was owned the R31 and R32 Nismo cars and now races the Benson & Hedges Sierra Cosworth. We talked to him bout comparing the cars, the racing and what's in store for the Sierra.

This car is now in the possession of a chap named Paul in the UK who specialises in restoring and maintaining Sierras. He has two of Dick's Sierras as well. And one of the Eggenberger Texacos. You can see videos on UA-cam of his collection.

Growing up in the 80's, I always LOVED these cars. Whenever I see a stock on e on the street I freak out inside. I would so love to own one, but they are SO expensive- it's just hard to justify buying one when all I want to do is modify it and destroy it's resale value. Man these things are special to those of us who grew up in the era they raced Group A in. The best I could hope for is the 4 door equivalent that looks a bit different but has the same driveline

Daniel Brealey there are a couple 4 door Sierra Cosworths where I am that get daily driven!(from what I understand although never had a chance to ask the bloke) I see them around every now and then. Awesome cars, definitely love to have one someday. Good luck!!

dohc1974 They used to flutter and chirp like that every time they let off the throttle at the track, every time I went to a meet to watch with my Dad as a kid every Sierra sounded the same. I've often wondered why myself. They sound so good.

Yeah bovs aren't really that popular in motorsport. They only add unneeded complication / potential leak points to the boost piping. The added benefits of running a bov are questionable at best.

3.50 that is the plastic Bosch style blow off valve, and it's installed backwards, a little trick to do so the plastic b.o.v holds boost. I've seen it done here in NZ in the early 2000s performance car scene.
