- Tory Liam Kerr tables a motion of no-confidence in Lorna Slater
Circular economy minister Lorna Slater is “out of her depth”, a Conservative MSP said as he tabled a motion of no confidence in her over the deposit return scheme (DRS) turmoil.
But Ms Slater said the attempt to oust her is a “shameless political stunt”.
Tory net-zero spokesman Liam Kerr has lodged a motion of no confidence in Ms Slater at the Scottish Parliament, which gained the backing of his party colleagues.
Scottish Labour and the Liberal Democrats have also said they will be supporting the motion.

I do not like to see people lose their job,but, I work hard and pay my taxes to pay politicians to do a job. LS has not been elected she has done a herendance job in government. If that was me in my work, I would be gone
Lorna Slater, is one of those dangerous people, who are so thick, that they do not know they are thick, but when surrounded by other equally thick people, you do not stand out so much.
It is about integrity if she doesn’t resign. She knew she was using the private limo whilst trying to get us off the roads. She knew she was using a private chartered boat at a cost of £1200 to the taxpayer whilst the Island communities are still waiting for ferries! And now she knows she’s delivered a chocolate teapot instead of a viable DRS, and at a cost of millions to the taxpayer. It’s time she went.

There was nothing wrong with the boat hire actually! She had a government arrangement to fulfil and couldn’t have done it using the public ferry timetable .

The staff of CSL have lost their jobs because Lorna Slater took a petted lip at not getting everything all her own way. The blame for that hangs around her neck, and her neck alone.
The scheme could still have started on time without the inclusion of glass, but just like the Police VAT debacle, manufacturing a grievance was more important than doing what they were elected to do.
No doubt she'll recycle yet another of her previous scripts to remind us all that CSL is a private company, it's nothing to do with her... and it's all Westminster's fault.

Litter where ever they walk or stand.
Teach people to stop dropping litter invest money in that and the problem is more likely to be solved

Votes aside, the disastrous Slater should be ousted and told to go back to Canada.
I've only watched her once answering questions, I was appalled, she never answered any question, she merely read some notes over and over again. I assumed that she was so ignorant that she had no answer, so just read a pre-prepared script, relevant or not.
They did their homework on Slater, i'm glad! I've been complaining about her for months.

A waste firm has begun legal action against the Scottish government for a £55m financial loss it claims it suffered by investing in the deposit return scheme (DRS)
