Thank you sooo much for the pictures!!!! It is very hard to find any info about this town and really hard to find pics, I grew up close to here and went and explored alot of it last week, the place is amazing, would have loved to been around during its prime
Southeast KCTCS, the local community college, in neighboring Cumberland has an extensive archive of these photos from both Lynch and Benham. After US Steel shut the Lynch operation down, a local professor worked hard to get as many of those print and negative files as possible. He spent years archiving them. Some are on permanent display at the college’s main campus.
Great place! Many fond memories. It's great seeing photos from that era.
