  • In a four-part series on Vic Dana, here are his 1965 single "That's All" and the album cut "You Were Meant for Me." "That's All" had been recorded by Ricky Nelson in 1959, and would be recorded by Leon Russell for his 2002 album Moonlight & Love Songs. "You Were Meant for Me" was on his Dolton album Red Roses For A Blue Lady, and on his Sunset album Warm & Wonderful. They were recorded during a few days of sessions in February 1965. Ernie Freeman was the leader and arranger and had the omnipotent piano player Leon Russell on ivory detail. Also of note among the musicians were guitarist Carol Kaye and bassist Lyle Ritz.
