- We are now in Bangkok again! Thailand is a great place to buy Tamiya kits and accessories. Today, I'm on the hunt for some rare pieces. Join me as i hit a couple of shops looking for some Holy Grails!!
Tamiya Australia is an Instagram page and UA-cam channel dedicated to all things Tamiya. I have been collecting Tamiya RC products for over 35 years and have amassed a large collection of runners, new in box and shelf queens..
I hope you enjoy the content that I make.. I do it for fun!
Tamiya Incorporated (株式会社タミヤ, Kabushiki gaisha Tamiya) is a Japanese manufacturer of plastic model kits, radio-controlled cars, battery and solar powered educational models, sailboat models, acrylic and enamel model paints, and various modelling tools and supplies. The company was founded by Yoshio Tamiya in Shizuoka, Japan, in 1946.
The company has gained a reputation among hobbyists of producing models of outstanding quality and accurate scale detail. Tamiya also produces materials and tools, including enamel paints, acrylic paints, airbrushes, aerosol paint, and marker pens.

I just finished building my Wild One (Non blockhead version)...what an amazing and fun build, and actually very easy as well. Its a fantastic buggy, and I may buy the blockhead version and have both Wild Ones side by side on display at my home.

These shops are an Aladdins cave!!!. I’m here in the uk and it’s a bucket list thing for me to travel to one these locations and buy a few kits.. I’m 52 now so i better hurry up!!!

Wish there was a Tamiya store around here. The shops around here don't carry the kits at all. Not even parts for them

Oh man! I'd go broke in that second shop for sure! Nice ones you were able to pick up at both shops! Too bad the one you were aiming to get was not there but you still got some great kits!

The best Tamiya store I have been to is the Stargek store in Singapore. When I moved from SG to Manila I could take my spray paint cans but for my new job to KL I was not allowed to take my paint so gave it to my RC friends in Manila. I want the new BBX and do a motor and escape upgrade and A 180SX model to match my car I miss in Australia.

@tamiya_australia I will check it out I an Australian expat now in KL but when I lived in SG enjoyed the rc scene though Malaysia has more places.

Guy 😮 awesome to see an actual model shop 😪 the Internet has destroyed actual shopping for model kits in the UK. My go to model shop was Great Dee models in the centre of Nottingham 😢 gone killed by the Internet. Great video, find me a Falcon pal 😮
Hahaha.. I'll have to find 2 then! I've been on the hunt for a Falcon for ages! Yeah, Asia do hobby shops the best.. Nothing beats the feeling of heading to a shop and picking up the kit you want 👍👍

Wow. How do you get to travel around and visit all these hobby shops? Your work take you around the world? Tell me you got the M four! I’m looking for one
No 😪 The M-four was gone, i'm still on the hunt for one too... We can travel because we sold our business in 2021, so we decided to take a couple of years off to see more of the World. We are heading back to Australia next month 👍👍 Thanks foer watching the video 😁

Yeah, tell me anout it.. Tamiya could do so much more in Australia, it's pretty frustrating.
@@tamiya_australia annoying is an understatement, seems you can get most kits and chassis any where but Australia. I’d order a BBX but I’m sure that the preorders are optimistic at best, I fear many will have paid up in full but not much stock will be distributed leaving many waiting. Could be wrong but I’ve heard the stories.
You should get some CC01 because they stop making them. You know I'd also like to see you while playing with them.
I've got a CC01 at Home 👍👍 I never really run them THB.. I have a HPI Baja that i run sometimes and my old TA04Pro..

Hey there, I’m currently in Bangkok now and plan to visit both shops today ! Strange question… but when you scoop 2-3-4 kits do you post them back to Aus ? Or take them on the plane back (hold of course).
You are in for a treat! If you post them, you have to pay GST on the import, so i bring them in our checked luggage... In a standard suitcase, i can usually get 2 standard sized kits... Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment 👍

Great video i saw lots there i want mainly 1/14th trucks. How do you get them home? in luggage or suitcase?
Yeah, RC trucks are huge in Thailand.. I have a way of packimg kits up in my suitcase, i might make a how-to video👍👍👍

Hahaha.. There are a couple of cheap stores in Australia still.. Check out Ace Hobbies in Midland WA.. They are my LHS and always have great prices👍

A lot (all in my area) Hobby and RC shops in US and Canada have gone bankrupt. There were auctions with containers of these kits, going for $/lbs.
I can tell you in Montreal Canada, we used to have several including one of the biggest, the size of a few warehouses. All gone bankrupt. Drones and aliexpress sort of destroyed it all.
That is such a shame 😪 Some of my fondest memories growing up are of me and my Dad goimg tto our local hobby shop.. Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment 😁
@@tamiya_australia So are mine. We'd look at kits and talk about what to build next, and so on. Tamiya was always premium quality, so we would eye them, but it was out of our range. I hope they (and you) can survive these very strange times.

You can still find OG Willy's... Keep an eye on eBay.. But it will be expensive!
