Afternoon Field Duck Hunt in a PIT BLIND | Duck Hunting 2024

Matt is out for an afternoon field duck and goose hunt with his buddy Matt. Conditions aren't the most favorable for hunting ducks but the pair still have a good time in the blind watching ducks and geese as the sun slowly sinks. All in all another good day of duck hunting.

So much information about the right way to hide in a harvested corn field, the decoy spreads of geese and ducks, spinners, calls, etc... But to dig into the pit, like two foxholes, what a dedication! And yes, as usual, such a nice shot, video and quarry! Thanks again for sharing this with us!

I would think hunting water roosting areas would be better in evenings and fields early mornings ?

The birds in the area weren't leaving the roost to feed until late afternoon/evening with the full moon.

What size Boss Shells do you use? I’m considering getting some for a 20 gauge for next season. I mainly hunt divers. What shot size would you recommend?

I use 2 3/4" 6s. I'd recommend 4s for divers.
