What I really caught hold of was that the Jewish people need to repent and accept the Messiah before He returns and it will probably be just before. I love how you put the pieces together to describe the bigger picture.

Hi Maria, No the Messiah's return is NOT dependent on Israel's repentance and acceptance. If you listen carefully that was what the disciples believed would happen, (33rd minute onward) The Jews as a nation will only accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah at the end of the tribulation when He defeats there enemies.

The reason you say this is because God is dead to you, you neither know him , nor his Son, neither his word,
otherwise you would obey his command :
"This is my Son who I love and with whom I am well pleased, listen to him"
but your uncircumcised heart can't allow you to; hence the need to be born by his Spirit.

I would like to buy that commentary on Jeremiah eventually. I'm having so many doubts about biblical prophecy these days and I would like to see more apologetic focus on the subject of prophecy.

I've been focused on the prophecies Christ fulfilled off and on since 74 and see a beautiful point in the Dead Sea Scroll of Isaiah describing Christ 200 years before the fulfillment. Further the prophecy of Moses at Deuteronomy 4:29-36 that says Israel would be scattered for acting corruptly, is not limited to the earlier dispersal, but applies to the scattering of Israel in 70 AD, thus putting grave doubt into the judgement of first century Jewish leadership. There's so much more. And answers to your questions. I know a Doc...

The presence of the Jews in the areas where God scattered them, witnesses the truth of the Gospel to the gentiles nations into which the Jews were sown. That's how I see it.

I think the reason why the promises and the scriptures are only partly fulfilled is because Israel in their unbelief put everything concerning Israel and Messiah Jesus' mission to them on hold. In the mean time Messiah Jesus is still being a light and a banner to the nations. God fore saw it all.
Like how Isaiah's suffering servant thought He failed in His mission to the Jewish nation but God said He would ultimate not fail.
Also Daniel (in chapter 9), Malachi (in chapter 3) and Zechariah (in chapter 13) saw that Messiah Jesus would come and take Israel through a process of judgment and purification.

      Here are some:
Object of a murderous plot- Jeremiah 31:15. Righteous Sufferer- Psalm 69. Messiah will be lifted up- Numbers 21:6-9. Would be the Passover Lamb- Exodus 12:1-51. Would be a willing sacrifice- Genesis 22:1-18. Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver- Zechariah 11:12-13. Pierced- Zechariah 12:10. Would not remain dead but see His seed, prolong his days and be exalted- Isaiah 52:13-53:12. The rejected cornerstone- Psalm 118:22-24. Forsaken and pierced but vindicated- Psalm 22:1-31 (note: this is only true of pre-rabbinic psalms- old Hebrew text copies, modernized translations say foot like a lion instead of feet bored through and pierced). Messiah Resurrected- Psalm 16:8-11.
The entire rest of the Old Testament speaks to the coming Messiah and Elohim using the Messiah to bring both the Hebrews and the Gentiles into the family of Elohim prior to the great and terrible final day of the Lord.
