The Dirt Drag Truck is Back!!! And It's Looking Promising?!?!

- I now have the perfect spot to test and run the Dirt Drag Truck with the headlands being right out my back door!! We've had a lot of trouble in the past with the dirt being too packed for the paddle tires to actually give us any grip. Today I was hoping to get some mud to really sink into and possibly rip through after all the rain we got recently. But the field soaked it up a lot quicker than I thought it would.
Still I couldn't pass up the opportunity to test a bet with everything being so smooth and flat.
How'd it go?? I think pretty promising although the results aren't there yet. I learned a lot about the truck getting to get a lot more time with it. And it's always pretty fun to just drive this truck no matter how well it runs!!
Hope you enjoy the Video!!

The launches were sick bro.
Absolutely!! I think the truck launches great! If only I could keep it hooked now...
🤘wooooooooooooo🤘 dirt drag truck is still badass 🤘🍻🤘
Thank you!! I really love it myself!
@@FullThrottleRC yeah man, yer welcome. You did a great job building that truck 🤘🍻🤘
Next spot you should try is a baseball diamond I know it’s not dirt but it’ll be a step in the right direction 99.9% of the time it’s flat
I will say I believe the headlands here are about as flat as a baseball field will be. Especially after some rain like this. The farmers grate it pretty regularly so it's well kept. Just tough when the dirt is hard packed
Should either find sand to try or bring a metal rake and make it loose, usually they groom dirt tracks to be loose so paddles can grab like in sand.
I am definitely getting a rake to try out next time!! Such a simple solution I didn't think of for some reason. Thanks!
in my experience with running straight line with dirt, the car likes the initial zing up of power, but when it kicks sideways is about a foot or so out. if u can tune the throttle ramp with the mamba x, try a quick hit of 100%, drop it down to 50, and slowly ramp it back up to 100
I'll have to look a bit more, I'm not sure if it's possible to set a throttle ramp like that in the mamba x but I agree that would really help get some traction
Nice
Thanks!
no prep into dirt nice
Definitely no prepping here!
The paddles look like they did well on the grass 🤔
They actually did! That's why I'm thinking it has a lot to do with just the dirt being too hard packed to get any traction
Wonder if you installed a gyro of that would help? And yea no doubt need to add a throttle curve. Hell I have hard time finding traction on pavement! Have to ramp up power really slow
A gyro may help but that's not something I really want to add. I rather drive naturally myself
Love the truck! I need a new body for my drag truck. Those front tires look very nice for a 2wd offroad rig. What tires are on the front?
Thank you! The fronts are jconcepts carvers that a glued onto the ssd front drag wheels!
I don't know if you could do this but if you could get hose to wet the surface maybe you would get better grip? But cool video otherwise!
I might be able to get a hose out there. Even maybe a bucket of water could help get me a little more mud. I like the idea! Thanks!
What paddle tyres and fronts are they? I want some!
The fronts are jconcepts carvers and the paddles are jconcepts animals
I think it’s all in the diff…..
I don't quite remember as it's been a long time since I built this truck but I'm pretty sure I set this diff the same way I do with my no prep car. So likely 1 mil wt fluid. I've found for my no prep car that helps it launch at straight but stay straight on the top end. I assumed the same would be true in this truck but maybe the surface is looking for something different
