U can make chilli with the ground beef, black beans, kidney beans and some green pepper.

Almost forgot, that vegetable is a yucca root. It has a little bit of a starchy, nutty like flavor You can use it like a potato in soups or stews, just takes a lit bit longer to cook. . I even like it cooked with green beans.
