Know that anytime you suggest an overlapping astragal ,and coordinator ,it can never be applied to a pair of double active doors ,having two panic bars ,as the coordinator will do it's job closing the primary door ,but once the secondary door closes ...you can not open the primary door at all ,it is trapped until the secondary door ,with the overlapping astragal is opened ,this is called special knowledge to open an emergency egress door and is illegal to do. Yet I have seen this done in many places , as a "quick fix" to lessen a too wide center door gap on hallway or stairwell doors ,etc...,as was cited by a fire Marshall . The overlap astragal vs coordinator is commonly used on "ACTIVE /INACTIVE leafs with auto flush bolt applications... Just a fyi, as mentioning overlap astragals can be dangerous ...thanks ,great instruction guys !!
