I drove BMW 5 series cars for nearly 40 years, and own a a 2011 M3 garage queen now. IMO, NOTHING can compare to my Model S. Renders “supercars” obsolete.
What a very levelheaded review. As a Tesla owner I can subscribe to both the positives and negatives. Love that you emphasised the safety aspects and charging infrastructure. My Model 3 Performance only needed one set of wiper blades in 4 years and several liters wiper fluid.
How come the "irrelevance" of the Plaid's acceleration is so short lived, when it makes any necessary overtake so much safer throughout the whole life of the car, by being able to hang back to ensure maximum visibility and then, spending as little time on the wrong side of the road as possible?
Tesla only seem to do revised versions of all their cars.So buyers of their latest cars need to play spot the difference. Cost cutting again by Tesla rather than invent all new designs? Why buy new when you can save thousands buying a 2nd hand version that looks very similar?
8:40 News Flash to all you reviewers who foolishly think we want “feel“ or” feedback” in our steering and suspensions: WE DON’T!!!!! WE NEVER DID!!! WE NEVER WILL!!!!!!!!!!!
20 seconds in to this video the review loses all credibility. Stated “almost supercar like acceleration.” Almost? It does 1.99 sec 0-60! How many supercars to that or less? So it’s not almost it’s beyond supercar acceleration.
I love my model s performance dual motor ludicrous 2019 Ravin, its the best car I bought in my life. I often camp / sleep in it & consumes only circa 5% of battery per night @ 22 c. A.C settings
Maybe not perfect but still an amazing car now with new seats for the plaid and upcoming ambient lighting and front facing camera. My dream car I love the space since we're a family of 5❤
The script is a bit odd. Wheels come standard 19” on both regular and Plaid. Ventilated seats are standard as well, not mentioned. As Tesla Vision is the new thing; no parking sensors, only cameras on the car. Regarding the lights, also already known at the time of filming, matrix headlights are equipped and have by now and then aswell, been updated to feature adaptive headlights. I could go on. I greatly appreciate the in depth of footage, as barely anyone seems to have reviewed the new S and X in depth. Just some of the facts are not correct. One more thing regarding the value; why would it drop if they bring out a right hand drive version? You can export it to anywhere in the world..
Excelent and very informative review probably the best I've seen! Still one of the best EVs fully capable to take on the onslaught of Chinese cars flooding our markets. A car I want buy after considering many other models i've come back to this one. Cheers and hello from México 🇲🇽
By a wide margin this new Model S is the best car available today at that price. To get better you need a 296 gtb from Ferrari or a Porsche GT3. But I am a car performance junkie. 😅🎉
@Cttechexpress 0-60 is not the only measure of a car, and do you race with other cars in a straight line on public roads with speed limits? Who is going to go superfast every time from one stop light to another with the back full of groceries or toddlers in child-seat, and speed limits everywhere? Driving dynamics, ride and handling, the feel and precision of the steering wheel, nimbleness in corners, NVH control (noise and vibration levels), interior and exterior quality are all pieces that make up a good car.
@harmony3138 the Model S Plaid did the Nurburgring faster than a C8 Corvette, so there's no lack of driving dynamics. The ride quality and comfort are also excellent... meanwhile the technology in a Tesla makes the Porsche look like a smartphone competing with a flip phone. How's the Porsche app? Can the Porsche pull itself out of the garage? Drive itself to your destination? Not to mention how much smaller the Porsch is, in all dimensions in order to achieve those sporty driving dynamics you're never going to use on a public roadway, while still getting 30% less range and slower acceleration.
Unfortunately they only sell in low numbers even in left-hand drive form, the separate dash, steering linkage and everything else required to make a right-hand drive version that will probably sell in the hundreds in the UK just isn't worth the cost.
Apart from the somewhat weird plaid badge ( removable I hope) I would love to order one in ultra red, black interior, 21" arachnid rims/tyres ( WLTP eaters but that's a sacrifice) So far and after 14 years, there's imho no other manufactorer of EV's that can beat Tesla. Not only their cars but also the infrastructure such as their supercharger grid, powerwalls etc. I'm not a Tesla fanboy persé but the competitors have a job to do to convince me.
Why would you not have brake regen activated when you lift your foot off the gas and hit the brakes? I own a Model 3 RWD and it uses BOTH regen and brakes when I hit the brakes. I really don't understand your point here. Comparing a Porsche to this car is incredibly inequitable. Porsche's cars cost two times more than the Model S. Tesla's competitors may offer more superficial luxury, but the more spartan Model S has luxury where you need to and it costs a fraction of what a Porsche costs to buy and maintain. Nor are the new Porsche EVs proven for reliability and durability like the Model S is. The Model S is $74,990 in the United States, which is much cheaper than similar competitors. The Model S is due for an updated reversion and probably will come out with the addition of either solid-state or semi-solid-state batteries, which will give the car over 600 miles of range. It is "annoying" that reviewers keep whining about the lack of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I use Google Maps regularly with my Toyota Tacoma 4-wheel drive, and it is inferior to Tesla's updated version. Every feature of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is surpassed by Tesla's native apps, software, UI and touchscreen. Why would any person use these two inferior driving apps when Tesla's native system puts them to shame? The Tesla Wall Connector (wall charger) will charge this car at nearly 12 kW per hour. They also are far better than competing wall chargers, and they have a 5-year warranty. With the Tesla Wall Connector, you can charge this car from 0 -100% in less than nine hours.
Odd review. Makes no mention of the ceramic brake option even though he talks about Nurburgring records and 200 mph top speed which is also incorrect. I hit 203 mph gps verified.
so it's not in production, a quick google search or youtube search and it will magically appear. and out perform the model S from $69k to 250K USD in every ASPECT! i'll give you software on everything except driving performance
@@nibotkram7743 If true, that one car produced dragged the Model S up and down the Drag strip, up and down the Range test and up and down the Autobahn Country Club course.. But I will give you Telsa can play apple car play better and you can sleep at the wheel.

We all do. So unpractical to drive with less than 700 hp really. I love my new 2024 Model S. I wouldn’t have anything else as a daily driver. Not a Bentley Speed, not an M5 and not an RS6 or AMG, they remind me of propeller planes vs the Model S turbine engines. I would however have a Ferrari 296 gtb and a GT3 RS for the weekend and the track. These are the best 3 cars driving today in my view.
Yup, superfast they are, and most electric cars are, but who is going to go superfast every time from one stop light to another with the back full of groceries or toddlers in child-seat, and speed limits everywhere.
Way too slow the Mustang unfortunately Who cares if people like propeller planes if they get instantly passed by this fighter jet. 😂 i want speed and control. This Tesla is the king of the road. But you must drive it to understand. I would have said the same as i loved my LS7 v8 engine in my zo6 corvette ,,,, until i made the mistake to try this Model S Plaid fighter jet and had to buy one.

I couldn't live with a left hand drive in the UK even if it was brilliant sadly
In the first minute, almost a supercar? My P100 D 0 to 60 is as fast as a Formula One car.
