I’ve walked past that spot for nearly 30 years, never seen anybody fishing. I’m amazed there were fish in there. Great video Pato, you’re a good bloke.
there's a good spot not too far from here, bit further down the river just before the first bridge that goes into bassests sweet factory been fishing it for years never failed.
Great first video! What rod and reel you using? You got any favourite spots from your travels about the UK? Any of your teammates or pals any good at fishing? Would be funny to see a wee 1v1 challenge 😂 What’s your favourite fish to catch?
I fish my local River Clyde here in Glasgow and catch anything from Salmon, Sea Trout, Brown Trout, Barbel, Pike, Roach, Dace, Flatties... the list is endless!!
Loved the video. Great to see you doing something you good at. Joking.! The don not long ago was really polluted. Nothing could live in it. Once going home drunk i decided to wade across on my way. Fell over on the slippy rocks. As a pulled my hand out of water. Caught a salmon in my hand. It was a tin of jon west. Took it home and ate it for supper. True ! Keep it up. Look forward to more videos
Great video, and lovely bit of river and going to have explore it. My brother in law spotted the video and is a massive Wednesday fan (season ticket holder). Well done on getting promotion too, what a way to do it. My son supports man utd and Wednesday (after is dad) and hasn’t stopped singing about the season you have had!
I'm a Blade but I fish aswell! Great to watch you on the Don, I fish it a lot, my favourite spot is the weirpool at top of clay wheels lane, I got what I'm certain was a sea trout about a pound and three quarters there on a lure. Some really big brown trout and chub aswell. Nice one pal, great video, put some more on!!
Late evening is best time around dusk, it comes alive pal! A bit further upstream past the next deep pool I saw a fella pull a 6 pound barbel out aswell on that slow stretch. Love what you're doing and I'll keep an eye out for any further video's you put on 🖒
I wonder if you came out of the stadium and said to your teammates "im gonna catch a fish out of the river and stick it on UA-cam!" You did and you have! Well done Callum, looking forward to your next video, back of the net!!!
Brilliant, really enjoyed that and would love to see more. I watch loads of fishing videos and yours is definately up there with the better ones. Cheers Callum.
Brilliant pato don't let gaffer catch you sliding down bank grew up on Chesterfield canal with little spinning rod perch and jack pike fishing still do it to this day ❤
Great vid, some nice fish caught on your Drennan vertex there. Looking forward to the next upload Pato 👍🏻. Perhaps barbel next?? Wishing you all the best for the new season mate. WAWAW!
Couple of tips Callum.. Because trout have such hard mouths they bounce the hook out. You need a really soft tipped rod also you don't need a 14ft rod on the don. I use a little 8ft quiver tip rod which is ideal for scrambling about on the banks and in the river with and is soft tipped enough to stop the fish bouncing the hook out. Also use a wading stick, there's some deep holes and loads of rocks and boulders to fall over and into on the don
What a legend pato Keep up the videos 2 questions Would you get any of your team mates in any of the videos to do some fishing with Any fishing celebrations for the new campaign for when you score Wawaw
Loving this video Callum, nice and chilled Random question, you ever heard of the famous old Scottish group: Sensational Alex Harvey Band? Cheers Jim (Greystones Owl)
Great vid Pato, unfortunately I’ve always been more of a maggot drownder myself. Also have you ever seen the kingfishers that live on that stretch. I always used to look for the when I had a job working on the broadcast circuits in the press box for BT.
Ever used a whip. I got one for daughter when she was just walking. They are like a small roach pole. First time I took her on canal it was hilarious. Fisherman with hundreds of pounds worth of gear. 2 year old daughter schooling them. She got bored of catching them. Be ideal for those little ones in shallows. Mentioned it because anyone who wants to start and not wanting to spend a lot. The whip is ideal
Down to earth humble guy. Wednesday legend

Great video patto, glad you are stopping at Wednesday 😀
Hope to see more of these pato, Ik I’m a week late but this has made my Monday, great watch👍🏻

Thanks mate! Fished clay wheels a few times but not luck with chub or any half decent brownie. Just tiddlers and plenty of grayling!

If you're into your course/carp fishing, try Barlow Country Club just outside Sheffield/Chesterfield. Lovely place.
Good bit of Fyshing ;)
Lovely stuff mate, come fly fishing on the Don with us sometime 😊
There's a couple of nice spots just before the bridge into the ground and a bit higher up past tyre place on leppings lane

If we’re entering an era where pato becomes an youtuber im 100% here for it. My guy got a vegan to watch a fishing video 😂
Great video mate! We miss you at Hearts

Fished there many times over the years. Try a little spinner for some good sized Perch.
Good stuff Dr Funk, still think you should've been fishing the water of Leith along from Tynie next season though. 😢
You’re a natural patto, fish down the river taff when you come to play us this year 👍
A days fishing with Pato sounds a right laugh
