I am crying. Soviet ballet will definitely never be surpassed. This... this is beyond perfection... No, perfection is a mediocre word, this is life itself, this is art at its best... thank you for your wonderful videos
Diana, You are IMHO absolutely correct. It's so nice to find a fellow enthusiast. These dancers from this era were beyond perfection. I was fortunate enough to see Galina Ulanova dance Juliet and Giselle in 1959 -- an experience I will never forget and that, to be perfectly honest, changed my life. To paraphrase what you say, her art is life itself. Her art is transcendent. And Plisetskaya in Don Quixote and Laurencia --- everything those roles could ever be. And then there was Struchkova -- pure delight and grace. And the men: Vladimir Vasiliev - the consummate artist, Yuri Zhadonov - great Romeo (though I saw him only in the film), Nicolai Fadeyechev - great partner, great Albrecht. I could go on and on. So grateful to be able to see so many videos of these great Russian dancers on UA-cam. I, too, thank you, Felici Rameau, so much for sharing.
