I watched an Oliveira's live stream yesterday, explaining his mindset during the whole IEM championship run, about how he phycallogically postured himself to the final success. Pointed out herO and Maru's mental brakedowns after losing him one or two games, made unusual and uncharacter mistakes. Explained his series of extraordinary decision makings and guessings in a very detailed, map to map way, which he still cannot believe it's true. In the live stream he constantly asked his watchers, "bro, can you believe it's me? If you hide the names, everyone will think the opposite." He outplayed everybody that day, and most importantly he became a better himself. It was really fun to listen to his reactions and he's still in disbelief.
Where'd you find this stream? Been typing different keywords into youtube's search bar and the only stream I've found is the IEM stream. Was it on Twitch?

Truly a miracle story and a grand finals that should be remembered decades. I feel so lucky to have been able to take part in watching it happen.
StarCraft delivers again, now with an unprecedented and wholesome underdog story! This is something beyond the championship itself; we can't forget Oliveira's journey: - Standings: He showed up in the 21th place by EPT points. - Group Stage: Almost fell right here, barely securing a 3rd place by defeating Clem and Cure (2:0), losing to Ragnarok (0:2) and losing against Dark and Neeb, but having managed to take crucial maps from them (1:2). - Playoffs: Defeated the EU Terran final boss, HeroMarine (3:1). - Quarterfinals: Defeated the EU Zerg champion, Reynor (3:2). - Semifinals: Defeated the KR Protoss champion, HerO (3:1). - Finals: As we saw, he overcame the Terran Final Boss, Maru (4:1), and went home with a sweet prize of $150.600 ($150.000 for 1st place + $300x2 for the two victories in the Group Stage). GGWP Oliveira, the normal man lmao!
I feel like pointing out, going into this, that Maru's BEST statistical matchup in SC2 is the mirror match; TvT. Oliveira's TvT was middling, at best. So, Oliveira overcame an ENORMOUS statistical and historical disadvantage to take this world championship.
Translate time/Olivera’s interview in Chinese : I have been waiting this for too long. Last year was especially difficult . Numerous times I thought the gate of SCII is closed for me. Only thought kept me going is to practice more and practice more . If one day I may get a championship I can prove it to everyone.
i loved how he was cheering with the crowd after every game ... jumping around .... and that speech at the end we can agree that it was somewhat touching. GREAT DUDE
Wow! What a spectacular run by Oliveira! In the playoffs he had to beat Reynor, who is a huge young talent and has always been in form and was the top of their group. Reynor was also the champion of this tournament in 2021. And then to come back from an 0-2 deficit where the second game just came down to 1 baneling... Holy damn! Then he had to beat arguably the greatest Protoss of all time in herO, who also has the longevity which many neglect, o and also topped his group. her0 was also a 2022 GSL Champion. And lastly he had to face who many regard as not only the greatest Terran but overall player in sc2 with the longevity to boot and also topped his group, Maru. Falling one game down getting pressured in game 2, he miraculously came back and won 4 games in a row, beating all these former champions in succession. Oliveria is officially a feller of titans. One of the most emotional and greatest success stories not only in starcraft 2 history, but in esports tournament history.
After 7 years of not playing and resembling of Maru as a child watching him win G5L and rooting for him I thought he had it after game 1 but Oliveira did so great as a Terran it was amazing to see T take over this year and playing having so much fun
Seriously, i doubted Oliveira during the quarters and semis. Just started to believe in him after game 3. But should've seen his potential to be champ after he beat HeroMarine. Also, i want to thank the whole IEM series for rekindling my spirit to play SC2 again. The whole series brought excitement to my old heart...
One of the best finals I’ve ever seen, even as a Maru fan I couldn’t help but root for the underdog and he absolutely smashed it, congratulations Oliveira!
Game 4 was so impressive. He seemed totally prepped for Maru and knew he would do his typical tank drop. His reapers scouted the move-out, and then he saw the medivac path and intercepted it with a cyclone. And then his reapers counterattacked, so he shut down Maru's attack while also getting damage. And then he got a push together before Maru had time to rebuild and GG. amazing play
Oliveira did an amazing job. He outplayed Maru in those 3 games both mechanically and strategically. It's very interesting that the mass Ravens were destroyed so easily with a good combination of libs, vikings, and marines with tank backup.
Thank you for keeping the interview in! My God Oli's so inspirational and humble. I am super touched he chose to thank all of us in English first, even if he believes his English is not good (it is!). And what a comforting thing to know his dad was so supportive of him, when so many stereotypes are presented of harsh, unforgiving Asian fathers. To see him decimate Maru as fluidly as he did shows how much he's grown. Hell look at the sweat glistening on his nose of all places in that last match.
This is one of the best matches I've ever seen, not just from a skill level perspective, but from the story and emotion behind the game! I love Maru and feel bad that he couldn't take the title, but Time/Oliveria blew me away the heart he put into the game. I used to hate watching TvT but seeing squads of marines suicide drop on top of tank positions so that the battle a screen away could be won was epic!
Every time, I feel like my research is too hard, and I am about to give up, I come back and watch this IEM final. Really motivating. You only got one shot, would you capture it or just let it slip. And we only live once, this whole life is a single shot.
First game was so brutal. Oliveira smelled the drop coming and yet he couldn't stop it from knocking him out. Was sure this would be a 30 minutes 4-0 after the first match
They didn't even show a single game of him on the main stream during group stages. Probably wasn't big or important enough. And this guy came out and defeted 3 top players in a row to take the crown. This is like a story of a movie
Oliveira didn't win by better micro or macro, dude won by taking initiative, doesn't even waiver for a second. He saw chances and just took it. Most TvT would be in a siege stand off and stalemate. Oliveira doesn't just let Maru do his thing, he either force an engagement or react instantly when Maru makes a move. It may look like Maru play bad, but that is because Oliveira just played too good, making the all the right split second decisions. Most other players even the top players would struggle against Maru as Maru slowly grinds them down. Oliveira never let that situation happen.
Yes, Time sucked in macro and decision making previously, which made him not competitve against top tier players. Don't know what happened to him after the tournament in Altanta. Look at his macro, especially reaction to split. I cannot believe, this is Time.
@B Z he did so many clutch plays this tournament, it was amazing to watch. I kind of want to make a highlight reel, it was so amazing. A little bit of luck but a lot of great decision making. Amazing run and truly legend in the making. Movie type shit 😄
I watched Oliveira’s streaming explaining all his thoughts and choices from Ro8 to final (in Chinese from huya). He kept practicing 12-15 hours per day, played 700+ top tier games in one month, lost to top tiers again and again. Every time he gained minor advantage, instead of using his ‘barbarian punch’, pushing boldly and throwing the game like he used to, Oliveira played with extreme caution. He basically chocked Reynor and Maru to death, forcing them to make more and more mistakes, crushing their confidence, and won afterwards.
The last game is worthy of the championship finals. Honestly, never even heard of the guy, but it's true, that I'm just a casual enjoyer of these matches.
Wow, that was some God level playing from an underdog I've never even heard about before. While I was rooting for a Zerg win, this was still an incredible sight to behold. Can't wait to see how far Oliveira will go!
And one detail makes me laugh so hard was, he said -"bro, last time I won Maru in 2019 by 3:2 in a group match, look at Maru when I shake his hand. Look at this time, he uses both hands! Bro, whenever did you see maru shake hands with me with both hands?" Just so many fun details about the matches from Oliveira himself.
And: I wanted this champion for a long time. I was almost about to give up StarCraft since last year’s lose. However, I told myself to practice and practice more. If one day I become a world champion, I can finally prove myself.
Translate : I have been waiting for this moment for too long. last year was especially difficult for me. GGWP Oliveira, the normal man lmao!
I’m Chinese fans I tell u guys this guy wake up at 2pm 2hours fitness and play 12hours to 4am. I’m gonna cry.nothing it’s impossible!
Not often you see someone outclassing Maru. Oliveira played godly this finals, big gratz to him!
That was sick final :D
SC2HL - Thank you SO MUCH for an incredible edit! I felt like I was in the audience!!!
What a game and what a story.
i loved how he was cheering with the crowd after every game ... jumping around .... and that speech at the end we can agree that it was somewhat touching.
GREAT DUDE
he bowed to everyone and kneeled to the floor, then shake hands with the opponent. truly a manifestation of humbleness. congrats normal man.
We need a documentary for this.
One if the most emotional tournaments in StarCraft history and I’m so glad for Oliveira
Wildest tournament ever! Never seen so many upsets in a tournament before! xD
Congrats to Oliveira, he made this tournament so much interesting
Man u are literally everywhere, from vtubers and movie content to starcraft games lol
All the way, he defeats the best P, the best Z, and now, the best T. Now, he is the undisputed champion.
So happy to have witnessed this live! So awesome!!
Alright guys let`s just admit Oli made all of us cry with happy gamer tears. Btw i was rooting for Maru
Damn man it's not everyday you see something like this
Is that Artoises? Good to hear him again
The greatest tournament run, and the greatest finals of all time. I was there to witness history!
This is incredible! The most beautiful TvT in a while, and such an awesome way to conclude the tournament!
Amazing job with the edit and posting it so quickly after the match. I was happy to hear both Tasteless and the retired Artists casting the final
Congrats to Time.
The road was long and difficult, but you made it.
The new world champion from China.
Reminds me of has's run a few years back, except he actually managed to close it out, WOW
Always the best in his dads heart! Yes!
mindblowing. this series has reactivated my interest in SC2.
Every time, I feel like my research is too hard, and I am about to give up, I come back and watch this IEM final. Really motivating.
You only got one shot, would you capture it or just let it slip. And we only live once, this whole life is a single shot.
Such an instantly likeable player.
Goes 1st to shake Marus hand.
A great commander always respect its opponent
Oliveira just made Starcraft history!
The biggest upset in EIM Katowice history! Congratulation Oliveria/Time!
The only game that make me cry out super loudly 😭😭😭Oliveira! The champion from China!
If you outplay Maru you deserve it! That move into his main and liberating the natural was genius. So clean. Confidence carried him.
@@bz2857 Since the lost in Atlanta, he practiced 12 hrs every day and for months.
"God is dead. _And I killed him_ 🍃🚬🗿" - Oliviera, 2023.
Everyone told me to retire, everyone told me to give up. But…look at me now!
I don't remember seeing this guy ... however, I'm glad that two Terran players got to the top! Long live the Terrans!
Congratulations, Oliveira. That was beautiful.
That was a great series. I will always love Maru 😘🤙
I am so glad I got to witness this live. By far the most incredible starcraf 2 moment ever
Olivieras tvt all week was amazing. Idk what he's doing its like he unlocked some new build. Unreal.
He basically chocked Reynor and Maru to death, forcing them to make more and more mistakes, crushing their confidence, and won afterwards.
that was EPIC! Well done Oliveira!
This was such an amazing game, I give such mad props. His skill and timing . Maru was not prepared for it like olivera was.
Didn't knew Time existed still, he was so cool in previous years
A TvT I actually enjoyed watching, amazing series
One of the greatest tournaments in SC2 history
21:50 crazy liberator/viking strategy to break through tanks
Oilivera hes mind is soo fast.. I never seen anything like that in a split second. from the marine drops to the final battle. can't wait for IEM 2024!
The last game is worthy of the championship finals.
Honestly, never even heard of the guy, but it's true, that I'm just a casual enjoyer of these matches.
Oliveira is the new handle for TIME, a Chinese player who has been around since 2014 and regarded as the best player in China.
Wow, that was some God level playing from an underdog I've never even heard about before. While I was rooting for a Zerg win, this was still an incredible sight to behold. Can't wait to see how far Oliveira will go!
Congratulations to the Chinese player on behalf of Russia. Brothers forever.
永遠的兄弟
Tht little move time did is game changer
Which game, lol?
@@guest273 the last game.......
@@guest273 All games lol.... Dude i just making all the right moves at the critical moment. Doesn't care, sees an opening and take his chances.
If you give up trying, you are not giving up your dream. What you truly gives up is the right to have this dream and to practice it one day on stage🎉
Maru : Who is TIME?
Oliveira : Hell, It's about TIME.
What is the translation of Olivera's Chinese words? The interviewer also looked really emotional.
Something like: nothing is impossible. Don’t give up. I can win the world champion. Everything is possible.
And: I wanted this champion for a long time. I was almost about to give up StarCraft since last year’s lose. However, I told myself to practice and practice more. If one day I become a world champion, I can finally prove myself.
Translate : I have been waiting for this moment for too long. last year was especially difficult for me. There were times i thought the gate of SCII is closed on me, only thought kept me going is if I can practice a little more, a little bit more. If only I may get a champion ship then I can prove myself to everyone.
may this final was the most emotive that i ever seem in sc2.....congrats oliveira.........¡¡¡¡ VIVA SC2...¡¡¡¡¡¡
I feel so burn at "He rush into Maru's main base! " "Now you can't sage here!"
The madman, he actually did it
“其实没有什么事情是不可能的,我都拿到世界冠军了”
Damn that was a killer game! I cannot believe someone topped Maru! Love seeing the new players be a real threat.
that mic holder is quite emotional. I blame it for my emotions!
Nothing is impossible. he proved that. well done
Congratulations to TIME!中国星际2的第一个全球冠军!
24:12 Marine: hey, guys! Wait up! Guys?..
I need this, not with commentary, but playing out to Stan Bush’s The Touch! Please someone make it happen!
