Where you water, the plants will grow. Are you going to be growing weeds of unfairness, despair, misery? Or, are you going to be growing gratitude by focusing on what you do have? Because I guarantee someone out there wishes and prays for the bad that you have right now. I know for me, going through a terminal diagnosis with our late cancer warrior, took a lot of years of depression and eating my feelings where I got to the point where I was waiting to be happy when cancer was gone. I thought, “I'll be happy when we get a clean scan.” But after years of clean scans, it was like, “oh, I'm never going to be happy.”
We can't put off happiness. We have to learn to be happy now, even when things are less than perfect and life is not fair. We are forging our character
All trials and unfairness are, is life creating in us the ultimate version of who we can be. So, the next time you get bad luck remember - Good luck. Bad luck. Who knows?
