As a Yankees fan, Happy to see his great performance in the postseason. When he played for the Yankees, He was one of my favorite pitchers in the team.
As a Padres fan, I miss Juan Soto, without Michael King the Padres would have been 'Up A Creek' this season. He has been their most steady and reliable starter.
I was there tonight! Michael King was something special, he got in trouble a couple of times but turned in an incredibly impressive performance. SWEEP tomorrow! GO PADRES
I love the slo mo of the last SO, seeing Higgy’s eyes widen as it stretches 20 inches off the plate and then seeing the bat slowly cross in front of him 😂
Not saying I regret my Yanks trading him for Soto, but I miss Michael King so freaking much. I will always be a fan of his regardless of if he’s in pinstripes or not.
As a yanks fan for almost 30 years, I concur. Definitely loved King, and had no doubt he'll become an Ace some day. He's got Roy Halladay stuff and demeanor. So far win-win for both Yankees and Padres.
I was at the last Friday night home game and it was awesome! Padres fans are united and filled with that stadium with enthusiasm and energy. Let’s go Padres!
As a Braves fan I’m not surprised we lost this offense can’t get going and we left 5 runners on base got to win 2 games braves or it’s over but if I’m being honest I’m just glad we made it in the playoffs with how much has happened with the braves this season we fought all the way until the end of season to get back into the playoffs for the 7th straight season I feel like that’s an accomplishment imo
Always love under dog teams and braves are one of them despite the injuries they dealt all season long. Definitely a postive to make it to playoffs 💯. As a padres fan tho, Fried and Lopez are gonna be TOUGH for us so theres that to look forward to 💯
Yeah man not to sound disrespectful but even if you guys get swept the fact you guys are even here says a lot about the team you guys got very few teams could lose as many people as you guys and still make the playoffs
@@secretagentrandybeans364 it’s not disrespectful and thank u yea even if we get swept imo it’s huge accomplishment that we got into the playoffs with how much has happened with us this year injuries after injuries and that Chris sale one hurt us the most 😔
As a longtime Padres fan, I can't help but consider the team a perpetual underdog and something of an unlikely entrant into the post-season. It just comes with it-- a long history of losing and disinterested ownership. Baseball is very unpredictable, and that's why we love the sport. I have no idea how far the Padres will go. But I can say this: something is very different about this team. It could be from excellent coaching-- I don't know. They don't have the star power of a number of teams of the moment-- and somehow I think it won't matter, because they really play together. That will get you further than a set of celebrities, I believe.
As a Braves fan we got max fried tomorrow but if I’m being just straightforward with the truth u guys are probably going to sweep us which I wouldn’t really care would it be sad to end so soon yes but this braves offense can’t do anything left 5 runners on base tonight and couldn’t get anything I’m just happy we made it to the playoffs with how many obstacles have been in our way this season with injuries after injuries we managed a way to get into the playoffs that’s an accomplishment imo
@rickbase833 The Padres haven't anything like the star power of the Yankees or Dodgers, for example, and if you look at the statistics they have few huge superstar players. They're not there in the top ten or twenty players, in the leader lists. They're just not there. Once or twice will you find a Padre there, and most Padres are found further down. Even the pitching rotation doesn't have a single killer who's unhittable. No one has eighteen wins. Altogether they fall in the middle of baseball. That's my point. They have some very good players, and recognized players, but no one like Ohtani or Judge or Soto or Yordan Alvarez, and the team altogether didn't get here because of star power. They got here by depth and timing, and by way of average players playing very well when it mattered.
@@bretfisher7286the overall takeaway I see from the Padres being this good is that starpower won't get you anywhere if said stars don't execute well, you can have a bunch of good players on the level of Ohtani/Judge but if they don't do well in the moment they're useless. Starpower doesn't matter in baseball, what matters is that your players execute when necessary and they deliver when they have the chance, and the Padres have done just that and look where they are now.
Don't regret getting soto but damn is this guy is a stud. Wish we would have given up anyone else in our farm except for maybe Dominguez. Wishing him every success as a Padre.
i was laughed at when i told em he is going to be great. last year was his coming out year, future years he will pay dividends for the pads. the versatility to start or close out games is def needed this post season. yanks rotation is banged up and bullpen is a joke as well could have used him for sure. think about it he was 4-8 last year with an era 0.20 less than this year... that goes to show you how horrible the yankees offense was in giving him run support...
In Oct 2010 against ATL, Tim Lincecum made his first postseason start. It was one of the greatest pitching performances I have ever witnessed. 9IP CG SO, 2H, 1BB and 14K! 119 pitches. He was absolutely electric and that game began the Giants 3 WS Titles in 5 years dynasty. Love ya Timmy.
Usually trades end up one sided and look even worse as time goes on but I believe the Soto trade might be one of those that benefited both teams. Now if the Yankees do not sign Soto then it may be looked as one of those one sided deals. I also believe that a vital piece of the Soto trade with the Nationals James Wood is going to become a monster of a player so you have to take that into account as well.
Michael King was awesome from the Soto trade. And remember he mentioned earlier in the year that Brito is also a pitcher to watch out for. If Vasquez continue to prosper, and Brito find his game, the Soto trade would net the Padres 3 front line pitchers.
@@JBMusical Not really. They needed offense way more and they got it. Honestly, they still need more offense. It was a great trade for both sides imo. King wasn't even a starter in New York. He was able to flourish in San Diego thanks in part to pitching coach Ruben Niebla, who was also responsible for molding Snell into a Cy Young last season.

No doubt he is their best pitcher. Cease is good but he is a streaky pitcher you're not guaranteed what you're going to get.
