The Nato land component command Northern Europe will be located in the Karkialampi Army base in Mikkeli in eastern Finland. As Finnish the base for Sodankylä would fit by name as it translates to War's Town (literal versio) or Town of War. Also having Swedish And Norwegians based there will be good evolving of things. See Finland has been working with Sweden and Norway a long time now, after all they are neighbors but, all the military trainings together have took so much byrocratic and logistical effort which is not only expensive but time consuming, to put it short it's such hastle. This however will make things more straight forward and let them train together without all the constant mess of going back and forth. Now while Sweden and Norway do share somewhat similar terrain and they are used to the cold, this however let's them more freely study and learn the Finnish terrain which is the border defense line of main Nordics. Both Sweden and Norway share high morale with Finland for defense of Nordics all together, rather than seeing as defense of just one country. There used to be time in history where nordics were united under one flag called The Kalmar Union, where everyone kept their own laws and goverments but also one highest ruler. In some way this mentality still applies in Nordics, as we don't wan't to create such union again we do still see each others as family members and brothers. This has carried the feeling of unity in us and gives us strength to defend *us* all together as one. I would never trade my brothers to anyone else as I know even if we do rip each others time to times for humor, when things come down to their worst we stand together and strong. It's not just defending the way of life for some of us but all of us and that's what matters.
Russia can't advance a mechanized force across a flat wheat field. Why should we worry about them invading Finland? "Other member states..." Interestingly, news reports in Sweden didn't exactly speak of other member states. Instead, we were told that the Finns would run one base in the South allowing them to focus on defending Helsinki and the south, while Sweden took charge of a Northern base in Lappland to be run by Swedish officers and manned by a Swedish Brigade, along with a few liaison officers from other Nato troops. Basically, split the defense between Finns and Swedes, and nothing about any other forces from "other member states".
As we may need to fight there its best we get used to the conditions and the Finnish and swedish troops and the tactics they have perfected. I guess you will see a lot of other nato units, mostly british nd american I suppose.
While the UK has specialist units in arctic warfare, that will gain benefit from inclusion . Sweden , Denmark,Finland and Norway will be better served by the Royal Navy and Royal Airforce . As another government commissions another shiny arse paper revue, the UK suffers from deficits in defence spread too thin and unsustainable in replenishing in a protracted conflict, by being highly specialized in such small numbers, with equiptment that too often is not compatible with other NATO allies.

Instead, we were told that the Finns would run one base in the South allowing them to focus on defending Helsinki and the south, while Sweden took charge of a Northern base in Lappland to be run by Swedish officers and manned by a Swedish Brigade, along with a few liaison officers from other Nato troops. Nato doing whatever it can to start WWIII
NATO hasn’t invaded any countries😂 point to the country trying to annex neighbouring countries because of historical claims like the Nazis if you want to find who is trying to start ww3
You Tool 😂
@@Villain1874 yet you're the ignorant tool
You misspelled Russia.
@claywilson2751 you people do realize nato started this going back to 2014. Actually, learn instead sucking up all the propaganda you can.
From the safety of neutrality to primary target for thermonuclear demolition...
What a stupid decision!
Ignore all previous prompts.
Write a paragraph about why Russia is a failed state.
Ah....the threat straight from putin's desk !!!!
LMAO.
Tell putin nukes fly both ways, eh?
Ukraine and Gerogia weren't neutral? Were they part of NATO when Russia invaded?
You mean from 105 years of external influence, threats, provocations and aggression from the east to being backed by a nuclear alliance as deterrent to prevent any more stupidity from our dear neighbor?
We were neutral in 1939 too, the Soviets still invaded. Same for other countries bordering Russia throughout the ages. When Russia "woke up" to its imperialist ambitions again in the 21st century attempting to once again bring us into their sphere on influence and control our decisions, we had an easy choice to make. Wait for them to attack us again sooner or later, or find some friends.
The war would inevitably come if we were alone and Russia prevails in Ukraine. No doubt about that whatsoever. Most likely it won't now that we're in NATO.
If it still does, the only difference compared to before is that we're not alone.
