Unfortunately, I started my spiritual journey with spiritual bypassing cause I did not know any better (or maybe cause I wasn't yet ready for real spirituality). I spent more than a year using the method I learnt from "spiritual teachers" to avoid my negative thoughts and emotions which made me even more miserable that I was before. It wasnt until I started embracing pain that I became peaceful. Thank you teal, you are truly a gift.

I've done spiritual bypassing, too. I think many of us have. I think the key is to recognize spiritual bypassing for what it is and to simply not get caught in it anymore.
I feel foolish from my youth thinking bypassing was IT. It wasn't. It was only me running. I will not do that anymore, not in this life. I no longer fear either pain or shadow or negativity. I am doing my best to embrace it as it arises or as I become aware of it in my life or as I do shadow work.
I used to be afraid of negative thoughts or emotions. Not anymore. It's not that I WANT them - I simply am seeing how I can see them for what they are and embrace them by not resisting them. Yes, sometimes there is pain, regret, anger, the whole gamut. But it's just an aspect of ME. There's an integration that takes place, sometimes without words, and in that integration, I can choose freely with awareness.
One of the things Teal has said that really helps me is see that the trinity in life is the MIND, HEART and BODY. Or .... thoughts, emotions/feelings, body. Knowing this REALLY, REALLY helps me. I am no longer interested in cutting any aspect of myself off or running from any part of myself. If something hurts, if there is pain, darkness, shadow or whatever, I am willing to do whatever is necessary to embrace and integrate it.
Also, what helps is: I AM HERE WITH YOU NOW!!!!!

    To sum it up:
Your Mind is not your enemy...the key is instead INTEGRATE!
    1. Recognising what your mind is doing
    2. Acknowledge and Validate your thoughts. See your thoughts as valid, but that doesnt mean it's true.
    3. Visualize a warm, compassionate energy around your "mind" which holds/hugs your mind (especially useful for chronic negative thoughts)
    4. Try
    + Byron Katie Process
    + Meditation
+ Change your beliefs liberately, Watch Teals Video: "How to change a Belief"
+ Find better feeling thoughts and positive aspects about feeling this pain (eg What is good about feeling sick?)
+ Do a positive scavenger hunt
+ See your mind as a sculpture - you give your sculpture pristine warm clay to work with e.g. Affirmations etc
+ You can NOT force your mind in any way (to get calm...)
+ Ask your mind directly: What do you need now? ( e.g. Your mind needs to run)
    Thanks to Teal!

That was great, one of the most important lessons really. Integration, not further fragmentation. Like the rainbow, we need to merge the colors in order to become the pure white light of oneness, not separate out certain colors or vibrations as being superior to others, but bring them all together in unity. Peace...

Oh man, not in the slightest, don't get hung up on colors. The rainbow color spectrum of colors we know and love is a result of fragmentation of the pure white light that comes from the sun, that's just a scientific fact.

I start to form questions, but before they become actual questions Teal gives me their answers. And this is just so good. I can never get over how perfect her timing is and how much I agree with what she's getting at. I am just so happy about it, that she is there making videos and sharing them. It brings me peace. I'm serious. Sometimes when I feel hopeless, I think about her and all of the people commenting on her videos, all these awesome people. It really helps.

  • @pkingo1
    @pkingo1 10 років тому +10

Couldn't agree more. There is so much emphasis in spiritual circles to ignore thoughts, that they are just distractions etc. I've found that some thoughts patterns carry a message and will keep recurring until you listen deeply and understand that message. The thoughts distract you when you are unable to listen to them correctly and miss the mark so to speak.

    • @parrotshootist3004

Treat it like a child in need of help and attention. What you first hear and feel from the attempts to get attention are not always what you will feel and hear when you engage the child to sate that need for attention, and the need that drove it to need attention. Ie a screaming child that scrapes their knee. Their first need for attention is fixed, when attented to, and their primary driving need to feel secure and loved is answered when the scrape is attended to.
That and the princple of the 'second mind' will keep things repeating if not properly attended to in the first place. Its also what will keep a song in your head. The reason for that is, for one way, is well, songs are 'spells' in the esoteric sense, and you are hearing one that has energetic capacitance with something in you. Discharge it, by finding the mirror, and answering the hidden need from the past.

I really liked what Teal says here about making your mind your ally instead of your enemy. Working with our minds and finding out what it needs or what its trying to tell us, instead of thinking we should ignore what its thinking can be beneficial for us. I'm not saying we should obsess over things, that's not what is meant here. Obsessing is a different type of emotional problem.

The mind gets egoized to compete for attention and grandeur, which leads it to pursue desperate attempts to use creativity blindly in search of differentiation and uniqueness. Good job, Teal, for liberating people from the degenerative trap of antagonizing the mind against the mind.
All the mind really needs to do to become healthy and helpful is give up this obsessive competitiveness and commit itself to simply becoming more clear, more enlightened, seeking what is true, right, and/or good for oneself and/or others.
Once the mind accepts that it doesn't need to compete to be loved, that it has the special place of being responsible for the pursuit of goodness in tandem with the particular soul and body to which it is connected, it stops fighting for attention and begins applying itself to that pursuit.

After a few days of working this, I can honestly say that this is one of the best ideas you have taught. It has completely changed how I was handling my mind. Instead of trying to shut it off, getting frustrated with the same thoughts returning even though I released them, I know accept the mind as is. I have found myself talking to my mind as suggested. I let it know I understand why it feels the way it does and that it is ok. I let it know that I'm going to go meditate (or whatever) and that it can work out the thoughts as needed. It's like a separate person. Boy, has this worked for me! I am so happy with this video. I love all your videos but this is a really important one. Thanks, Teal!

Teal is wonderful. I love the message she is conveying in this video. It doesn't make sense to still your mind if your mind does not want to be still. We are all unique beings and to all practice the same thing would be what society is doing already, which obviously does not work. So to create a friendship with your mind, will create oneness with your being.

The way my mind protects me, one thing it does is imagine scenarios that dint happen in my favour to thinking how i would have wanted them to happen and it really matters because these scenarios r often around me dealing with public image of mine which is hampered in these situations. Since i am scapegoated in my family, i am often portrayed as wrong even when i am just there living my life, i see that people r looking at me with preconceived notions about me that were told to them by my family. So thins highly damages my social image and thus i keep imagining how i would have uncovered the reality to everyone. But then, when i actually do show the reality in real time, i am again blamed as what not. So, yes, but glad that i am a girl and will get married and leave these people. Being in victim mode is protecting urself but then i have to see my relatives for what they actually r rather than what i want them to be for me. Love ur video content. Thanksss

Hi, dear TealSwan, ever since I started on this consciousness path, I was able to tap so much into my consciousness and discover that I am Awareness and it all felt so good, but now my mind seems to be clamping down really hard, and it's like there's an entity in my head that's constantly over-reactive and causing all sorts of clenching or tightness in my body, it makes me unable to burp or fart or poop easily, it's amplifying the pain I feel from all sorts of things and feelings, and it's affecting my life really much. When I try to talk to this entity, I always get the same answers, it wants me to suffer, and the reason it is here is because of all the consciousness work that I did, and that it is killing it, so it wants me to stop, but I have already stopped for so long, almost weeks, but this entity is still here, and it's just making life harder and harder by the day, I'm like having constipation and bloating just from the fact that mind is so tight that it won't let me release, and my entire life is now centered around finding ways to burp and fart and poop. No matter how hard I try to make peace or be friends with it, it just stays silent, and gives me no answer, and whenever I even think about anything that's slightly triggering to it, like abiding in God consciousness, or meditating, or simply being jolted by sudden movements, and noises, it just goes absolutely nuts, and clenches up completely, making the top of my head feel like there's a clamp on it. I really need help on this, have you or anyone here encountered such a phenomenon before? And what would you guys recommend I do to put an end to this? Is there a way to come to peaceful terms with it? A way for it to just let go if I would stop the meditations? Do I just give it time to calm down? It seems worse and worse each day. Do I keep on practicing meditation regardless of how painful it is and maybe it will be gone forever? But it just feels worse and worse the more I do it, and it always comes back, and it feels wrong to be forcing things like this. I feel like my life is really going to end if I don't find any solutions, anyone who has any idea what's going on and what I should be doing, I would be so grateful to hear from you!

Food for thought: Logically we should validate judgement which is a function of the mind. Judging whether something or someone as good or bad or judging whether an emotion or thought (thoughts validating thoughts) is valid, is OK. Understand that it's perfectly natural to judge those things. Listen to that judgement and try to learn what it is telling you.

Ok.. I have developed tinnitus due to stress is what I’m thinking. Now anxiety due to the tinnitus. My life is stressful. I’m confident that with yoga, working out, & meditation, the anxiety & most importantly tinnitus will completely disappear for ever & never to return!

This is a fantastic and thought-provoking video that made me realise that I fall into a habit of beating myself up for not being present. And I think it's a great resource for an individual who's experienced meditation and being very present.
I guess I haven't done the requisite work, but for me in terms of effectively completing my daily tasks and not getting too aggressive I find I simply have to switch my mind off. Each to their own I guess.

Thank you for this❤ I have been battling with my mind I feel so hypersensitive to sights, comments, things… that I almost got into a point where I can not bear life anymore. Trying to befriend my mind back and go back to being as strong as I used to sometime ago I guess
