Hi Anneke I finally got around to watching one of your videos on this channel. How very interesting. Not sure why I would be surprised by a channel dedicated to a niche interest such as fountain pens (afterall I talk mostly about perfumes for crying out loud on my videos), but I am. Just wanted to say hi and hoping you are well.
@@kellylyons7611 Hello! Most of my interests are niche and are also highly varied! It is impossible to talk to them all on one channel given how UA-cam is and that’s tricky! 😅 Why would you be surprised by this interest of mine though? 😁 Lovely to see you here. I miss making videos here. But things have been so hectic IRL the last couple of years it is hard to find the mental space and also the physical space! In niche areas like this you really get some perspective about the word “luxury”.
I've had a cap end come off a Visconti HS. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe the feeling. It's surprising how many small things (like friction based capping) you'd think pen manufacturers would take more care in designing. Do they not own and use pens? The Model 03M Fiori is incredible. They say on the website they will make as many as 51 based on demand. At present they say they will make 20-30. So amazing you got one! I will have to try to get to the Raleigh pen show to have a look, provided they haven't sold out by then.
I think the consideration with not threading is cost… while the glued finial maybe technical…? There are caps with magnetic finial is that Visconti? In which case I am sure that too cost more to make than gluing? If you do go the pen show will you share some videos? 😊
@@TwoMiceOnMyBookshelf Doesn't look like they've scheduled it for 2024 yet but if I get the chance to go I will definitely take some videos and share with you!
Just another comment to note that I heard from another creator who does ASMR videos to help people get to sleep. He said yt is forcing ads onto the end of his videos. He warned everyone that he wasn't being given a choice to take them out. I've also noticed that up to 3-4 ads are being forced on viewers, with no option to skip them. Now is the perfect time and opportunity for someone with money and resources to provde another venue for yt creators to adopt so yt can get the picture - some viewers are NOT going to pay to skip ads if their fave creators are not going to be monetised. I also question the sketchy content channels that DO get monetised on here while smaller, quality channels get dumped on.
Their new CEO I heard is even more aggressive in his pursuit of profit. Ads are now placed on videos that are over 100 views automatically even if the channel is not monetaised. What was 3 seconds skippable ads are now 6 seconds. So I wont be surprised if we are soon to be left with unskipable, longer, midstream ads, to push more people to pay to get rid of the constant interruptions. Sometimes I feel they are actively trying to get rid of smaller creators in favour of commercial and corporate creators. Anyways. It is what it is. I have had a love hate relationship with UA-cam for 6-7 years now. Being on youtube is like being in a land ruled by a ruthless greedy dictator, but you have yet to find your way out. Let's hope an alternative platform is coming soon!
@@TwoMiceOnMyBookshelf yeah, I just found out that amaz.. prime will be putting ads in the movies and shows, with a $2.99 USD option to skip the ads. Honestly, the cash grab by all these companies is naked greed. They get money from advertisers as well as money from people who don't want to see the ads. Annoyance marketing is the path they've chosen. People are struggling to make ends meet so constantly hitting us with cost increases and annoyance marketing is not a winning strategy. We don't need yt and as soon as an open source or other creator friendly platform crops up, new ceo and shareholders can enjoy the bitter, rotted fruits of their greed. They will join myspace in the dump heap of internet history.
@@TwoMiceOnMyBookshelf Cool I'm considering one, hard to tell how large their pens are compared to usual suspects. Nice that the bodies are made by Nikko though.
@@DDawg1144 I am new to Sey Pens. The grip is a bit thick for me. But I am loving the lacquer work. Is Nikko the actual craftsperson who made the body? Or a company? I spoke to someone at the stand when I was there at the Tokyo International Pen Show. But I gathered that he wasn’t the person who actually made the pens.
@@TwoMiceOnMyBookshelf Nikko ebonite is the parent company of Eboya in Tokyo and they provide ebonite for many other companies. So it sounds like the pen bodies are going to be high quality and do appear to be similar shapes as Eboya.
Thanks for sharing and for all of the lovely videos you have shared in 2023. My favourite is the Indian pen.
That was the first one that caught my eyes at TIPS 2023 🥰 Thank you for watching this year ❤️

I love that Sailor KOP!
Personally, I have the Sailor Pro Gear in the regular size.
The KOP really carries this colour scheme well! Your PG is from Bungubox’s Silent Night range too?
@TwoMiceOnMyBookshelf Hi! No, it's a basic piano-black with silver rhodium trim. It has a gorgeous 2 tone nib
@@user-gl5ld9vm7i Sounds like a very handsome pen indeed!
