It will be interesting to see how the cap will impact legitimate international student landlords e.g. those that rent one student per bedroom. It will certainly hurt the slumlords who are jamming in 10 students in a single basement (accommodation, by the way, where one malfunctioning hotplate would result in a disaster!). With a dramatically reduced stock of new students, students can afford to be more selective with their search for decent accommodations. So, if we go from ten students in a house to five- that would be a good thing for all involved.
One per bedroom? I've seen adds 3 per. Also living rooms basements rented out. Even a kitchen I Brampton for 350 was recently featured
@@vividvideos6087 Yes, I think I made that point in my comment. The slumlords will get hit, as fewer students will have better options available to them than 3 to a bedroom!

Heyy buddy....insightful video. I have a question though.... I have an admit for Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology in winnipeg for September-24 intake and would love to get some quality info as to from where to find quality listings from india. I know its quite early to be talking about this however, I just wanted the right info so when the time comes I'm ready look where I need to. I know facebook marketplace and kijiji, is kijiji a good place?? It seems a bit shady.......and can I approach realters for this situation, could they be helpful??? House prices are up because supply is low, only way for houses become affordable is to tax the capital gain and drive away foreign investors. houses are for people to live in.
I don't think there is any impact on the housing market because students will come to study master/PhD. study, and they are all coming to either ON or BC.
There are 4 of these Indian international students living across the street from me in Abbotsford, BC.
I see them picked up every morning in a van that says something landscaping.
I don't think these guys are studying for their Master's.

@@user-vi8ci2bi6b Start charging more money to Canadian students. Right now canadians study with fraction of amount and education system depends on money coming from international student. Its just $22 billion.
Canada: We need to reduce our Carbon Footprint.
