- An auspicious visit on an auspicious day! Please join me for my closing video of 2019 as we visit the prehistoric moments of Stonehenge and Avebury! Avebury may not be as well known as Stonehenge, but it’s the largest megalithic stone circle in the world!!! Both sites are incredible, mysterious, and very different experiences though they are part of the same historic complex of stone circles and monuments. This was an unforgettable experience and the most amazing way to close out 2019 and welcome 2020 with open arms, an open mind and an open heart! Sending blessings and gratitude to you all for your support and I wish you all a happy New Year and New Decade! Thanks for watching, see you next year!! 🎉

Both places were beautiful. I have always wanted to see them in person. Glad you found some where to eat. That lasagna looked delicious. Pudding =Desserts
Stonehenge was the internet of its day making it easy to know when to harvest all over the known world, appearing to be devine and a help to their lives they made the henge as a gesture of appreciation to God, thank you Jackie, loved it
First saw it in 75' then a couple years laiter while hitch hiking around Scotland, Ireland and Wales where me family are from. Saw many places on and off the well travelled country lanes. Glad shecwent to a land full of old yarns and history.
Another awesome vlog yay!! Can't wait to see the next adventure!!
Have a great New Year!!!🎉
Loved see Stonehenge!

Lotsa nice boothenge - REAL nice Stonehenge - looks like good English food - and Sam is completely unflappable - nice show.
What a great video, lots of information, I LOVED IT!!! I could feel your excitement and enthusiasm, thanks!
I was lucky enough in that I also visited Stonehenge back in 2016 and the tour company took us to Oxford and Windsor Castle, that was one full day, anyhow thanks for sharing!!
Happy New Year, you two! You're right, this is the perfect video to close out the old and welcome the new year! Wishing you a happy and healthy 2020! 🙏🏾💖✨

Great Vlog Jackie! Happy New Year to You and Sam ! Looking forward to more video adventures . Stay safe
Thankyou Jackie enjoyed this very much 😘😘
'Hart' is an old word for a red deer stag. 'White Hart' pubs are often ancient, and they indicate support for King Richard II of England, who was deposed in 1399.
'Creme brulee' is the French name for a dish that is actually English, I believe invented at Cambridge University.
Thanks for sharing Jackie. Definitely on my bucket list!
Love this! We visited Stonehenge and Avebury a few years ago and your video brought back such great memories! Enjoyed you telling about the ghost in that tavern! And all the food looked amazing! Thanks again Jackie and have a wonderful time in England! 🏴
Thanks Jackie, Sams pasty made me hungry. I remember driving past on the A303 and saw fathers for justice protestors sat on top of Stonehenge dressed as the Flintstones 😂👍. Happy new year and all the best for 2020 x
What a funny memory, thanks for sharing that!
Glad you had a fab time in our home county, Wiltshire. Avebury is just a 15 minute drive from where we live and is quite magical. 👍🏻
Thank you for sharing your adventures. I’m heading to England from Florida in April and you are giving me some great things to experience. BTW Sam is awesome!
We usually just zoom past Stonehenge while on the A303 heading from Surrey towards Devon & Cornwall. I went there a lot as a kid, when you could still walk right up to the stones, but not since they built the visitor centre. I was always a bit disappointed that the Egyptians built pyramids and we just hauled some rocks into circles. I love your enthusiasm about sheep, I think they’re cute too.
Great great video !! Happy New Years guys!!!
Omg we love it here, it’s so exciting to see you there
Enjoying your European holidays vlogs pre covid. Thanks for the adventure.

YOU WENT TO STONEHENGE?!?!?! 😱😱😱 I'm so jelly, but seriously excited about this vlog. I love living vicariously through you.
Awesome. I live in the UK and didn't know Avebury existed! Wow. My first visit to Stonehenge, dad stopped the car at the side of the road, we strolled over, climbed all over the stones for photos and were the only ones there! Mind you, it was many years ago! Glad you are having fun x
I know your not in Europe anymore but watching this video made me thank of the caves in France can't go in to anymore they do have a replica of them the caves have the oldest cave drawing none I thank there older than Stonehenge. 🌹🌹
I’m getting Stone and you trying to miss the bahhh bah Mines, car, sheep, car stone lol that pubs looks so cool. The beers looks so good happy new year 🎊🎈🎆 see you next year
I love Avebury! One of the highlights of my travels 😍
Same here! What a hidden gem... or stone!
There is a saying that comparing stonehenge to avebury is like comparing a village church to a cathedral. The henge is actually the bank and ditch encircling the stones. A henge is not a defensive structure as the bank is on the outside of the ditch. The henge at avebury was constructed using only deer antler picks and wicker baskets and is mind boggling in its size. Also at avebury is the avenue (probably the stones you saw in the distance from the top of the bank), silbury hill (a massive man made hill at the other end of the avenue), west kennet longbarrow (the longest burial mound in europe, and you can go inside it!), windmill hill, the sanctuary and loads more. I once stayed nearby and spent 3 days exploring this one small area, so cool.
Great vlog! Happy New Year Jackie and Sam!
Happy New Year Jackie!! Great video as always!
Welcome in Europe. Enjoy your trip. Your Vlogs are the best i have ever seen. Best wishes for the new yes.
I mean new Year. Sorry
I want to experience Stonehenge with a midsummer sunrise! Cool
Wow Jackie pulling out the big guns awesome vid
I'm from New Jersey and I never heard of Averbury either. What a great adventure "Chilling with History".
very good video hun x x
So very awesome! I love it!! If I ever get to go to the UK, I want to see Sunkenkirk. It's small but way out of the way with not many people. It's also up from where a lot of my ancestors came from.
Oh come on Jackie, I thought you were Bionic Woman or Wonder Woman, better yet, Supergirl when you were trying to pull that huge rock, lmbo.
I'm glad you had a wonderful time being there to be able to see it in person. I bet everything there is breath taking, beautiful. Thank you for sharing as if we were there with you. God Bless you Jackie and I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Many Loves and Peace from California.

Great video , I am super enthused
Cool vlog! I got a Ten Years After "Stonedhenge" album flashback. Sam cracks me up. lol! Happy New Year!!
Haha yea Sam cracks me up too! Happy New Year, Don!
Great vlog. I have spent a few nights sleeping in my car in a field almost next to the The Red Lion whilst helping with charitable events. As Sam lives in Wiltshire you need to go and see 'White Horse' hill. It is a carving some 2500-3000 years old. There is also a hilltop Iron Age fort. If you really like hiking then you need to walk 'The Ridgeway' from near Oxford to Avebury (where you were). It is considered Britain's oldest road, dating from prehistoric times when the track was used by traders and herders. Sam will know all about it as it runs across Wiltshire. There are many sites to see along the way. It is lovely to see a tourist who appreciates history and tries to picture in their mind what the sites once looked like! Well done.
Thank you so much and thank you for the suggestion!!
Great video!💕💕 Can’t wait for the new channel “Chillin on History”!✌️
Haha yesssss!!! I need to make this a thing!
Great Video Jackie, you know you should use the Force to move the stone lol anyway love this video you and Sam,

@@SuperEnthused ❤️❤️
damn it Sam, PUT DOWN THE SANDWICH at Stonehenge !!!! ha ha ha ha ( I love Sam !) what a great vid! .. :-) ... and MORE Kronenburg !!!
"Chillin on History" - great title 👍
That one building looked similar to a yurt. Happy New Year.. Thanks for taking us with you on this travel. Would be lovely to have a chance to see Stonehenge. Love the country side with the sheep. Would be interesting to see it at the start of a solstice time. Would definitely make a spiritual moment with the healing stone. Looks like a face on that stone. They certainly sure are well preserved..
Yes it did look like a yurt!! I would love to go back for a solstice, hopefully one day!
I can’t stop Tim from singing “Stonehenge” from spinal tap. Lol. Jesus take me know. Lol. Great video btw.
Hahaha! I should put a warning on this vid!
Great filming sam your a natural brother!
Happy New Year! Whenever I see a picture of Stonehenge, I think of National Lampoon's European Vacation.

Thanks for uploading. If I never get to see Stonehenge (and the rest of England) for myself one day I have a pretty good idea and thorough tour of it thanks to you!
That is definitely my goal, to give realistic views of place so people can see what they’re like and kind of come along for the experience!! :) Thanks so much!

Such a great place!!
Nice Job, Really cool vlog. Thumbs up!
Thanks!
I hope you enjoyed your time in the UK. You were near where I live went you visited Avebury, it's a lovely area to live.
Such a lovely area!! You’re lucky to live there!
Great video, I much prefer Avebury to Stonehenge, if only cause you can get to the stones, and there is a pub in the middle!
The 1998 film "Still Crazy" used Avebury as a filming location and I can remember my Dad's old Road atlas had an aerial shot of Avebury and the stone circle.
Awesome content! Happy New Year!
Thanks so much!
Jackie and Sam,
Happy New Year! Thank u for sharing Stonehenge! Motion sickness overcame! Some people can use Distilled Water with a little bit of AppleCider Vinegar to avoid Motion Sickness.
Aloha from Texas,

❤️❤️
Welcome to Wiltshire! If you have some time, go visit Lacock as it's not too far from where you are. Harry Potter was filmed there.
Looks a bit cooler there than in South Florida how did you hold up? This place is amazing thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. I get motion sick too and I know what you mean when I was in Ireland we had to stop a few times in our way up to the mountains because I got sick. Happy New Year.
Some years ago we rented Church Cottage in Avebury. An amazing and humbling week exploring the village, the stones, circle and henges round about, including That Huge Stone One when you could still walk up to and over it. Sad that you now can't but vital as the sheer numbers of human visitors will destroy it just by being there. (See Monty Python animation of what happens in Constable's Haywain painting) Glad you enjoyed your visit to both despite the weather.
Yes I was actually surprised how close you could get to the stones, I can definitely understand that they need to be protected! I would love to rent a cottage in Avebury and enjoy the area one day!
@@SuperEnthused Not sure if church cottage is still hired out but the National Trust also had a house in the village then. That may still be available. Search online for cottages to let and NT properties to let. Not in Avebury, there are thousands of holiday properties to let all over Britain and if you fancy something unusual, try the Landmark Trust, though they are rescued old follies, etc, so very expensive, to generate income to rescue more. Happy hunting, Roj.
Thank you for being respectful of this place. It's very important to the pagan and witchcraft community. And you and Sam are very welcome to come to our festivals here when Covid has done one lol x
Nice one
Thank you, your adorable. Found you through Adam.
I am totally jelly
They must have stopped allowing visitors to drive up to Stonehenge after the Griswold's visit.
Haha yep!
😂😂😂oh yes forgot that 😊
I’m a bit late watching those video, but I’m glad I did as it was fantastic. I love how respectful you are with regards to the history, Jackie. Also, I kept saying to myself “where do I recognise Sam’s voice from? And then it clicked! I love his channel as well. You two both have amazing channels. Keep up the amazing work and good luck to both of you in whatever you do. Hopefully one day when I’m in Orlando I bump into you guys
So glad you found this video and thank you!! Sam's the best, can't wait until he can come back to Florida!
Super Enthused I bet! Sam is a good dude!
OH DUDE!! very cool!! does it not snow there? also Sam is funny :P
What a fun travel experience! The history is very interesting. They don't know it's meaning but I'm just going to go with aliens haha.
👽 !!!
The smaller blue stones are from Preseli Hills in West Wales, about 200/300 miles away.
Fantastic video (as always). Really interesting. And, yes, your enthusiasm is infectious. Just as an aside - do you take anti-motion sickness pills? As you suffer from car sickness.
THE most amazing thing to me apart from the obvious , the construction, how they transported the Stones especially the blue stones from Wales 4.5 thousand years ago ,is the Archology done abit away ,they found thousands of cattle bones ,modern science found they were from as far away as the Isle of Sky ,how did they drove the cattle so far ,no roads in them days .that's mind blowing.
I went there back in 1988 alot has changed! It didnt have a center or the replica village
I was so worried that Avbrey stone was going to fall when u touched it. 😅😂
When I visited it was just before they started working on the new visitors center so you got to park right across the road and walk through a tunnel. But the visitors center was pretty much a metal building with just a ticket booth.
Here's an interesting story about Avebury, the people believed that the stones were put there by witches so they decided to knock them over, but one fell on a guy so they stopped doing it. In the 20th century they decided to restore the stones upright and when they pried one up off the ground they found the guy's skeleton. The people just left him there.
Enjoyed the youtube and i'm probably going to avebury tomorrow (weather check),24.53 that is west kennet avenue , a ceremonial neolithic double line of standing stones leading to the circle ,and several hundred yards long , there is also silbury hill closeby and west kennet long barrow closeby ,you probably missed them but can search in youtube .
Jackie, when you first saw Stonehenge, did it seem real? My experience was, because I only seen photos, when I first saw it, it still was the photos in my mind. When I went in 1999 the Visitor Center was literally across the road. Happy New Year to you and Sam.
Totally yea it doesn’t seem real at all! Seems like you’re looking at a picture at first! Takes a while to sink in that you’re THERE!
I hate to be a nudge, but I am a stickler for details. So regarding the tenon at Stonehenge ... that's not the name of the stone. It is part of an ancient form of joinery called mortise and tenon. A mortise is a hole or dent and the tenon is a bump or peg that fits into the mortise. At Stonehenge, the tenon is the bump on top of the vertical standing stones and the mortise is a depression carved into the bottom of the top stones. The tenon fits into the mortise and holds the two stones together.
Aaah ok thank you for that information, I appreciate it! I did read that they used some woodworking techniques to hold the stones together so I should have figured that out. Always appreciate learning so thank you!!
