Can I just say Big Massive Thank you for this video, I’m a first year very mature adult nurse and fear maths, numbers so much that I avoid it as much as I can because it makes me feel Sick, but so wanted to have a career in nursing and your video has truly made me cry that I understand it thank you so very much .xxx
Helen Moore I just saw your comment and I have to ask you how is it going for you? Lol, I am about to enroll in nursing school and I am terrible at Math. Are you finding that it is getting easier or harder? I am an mature adult ,too😩
Hello i would like to thank you!!!! Your videos have helped me soo much and so quickly! You are truly amazing God Bless!!! I have my interview for Nursing next week and this has defiantly re-caped me on certain things.
always remember ORDER/AVAILABLE x ML or gtt (or whatever its in there) Your order is always your TOP number but don't get confuse because sometimes its tricky. Know your conversation and you'll never get lost..
Hi can I ask , so for every sum I multiply by the volume first then divide, at the end , so eg if it’s 10, or 100 I move the decimal point for the amount of decimals ? I failed my drug calculations 😩, I just wanted to be sure , I love your video. Syringes are my weakness thank you xx
This is the easiest explanation of this I have seen. All the others have you going around your butt to get to your elbow doing unnecessary calculations.
Can someone help please. I need to take 50 mg of medicine. My medicine is 300mg in a one ml ampoule. I can’t figure out where on a one ml syringe I draw too.
Dumb question but, if the order is 0.5mg and the stock medication is 0.5mg per 1 ml, do you just draw up 0.5ml? or would it be one ml using the formula above?
Some of us do not know this formula. Can you explain why it is you are moving the decimals to the placement you have. Maybe if you showed us without using the short cut it would better help us understand when you do. Thank you
13 years later and it’s still helping us ,
Thank you for this
You taught me more in under 10 minutes than what my instructors tried to teach me in 2 hours. Thank you so much.
I wish all tutors taught like this in numeracy. Excellent help for calculations. Thank you
14years and it still helps , thank you
Oh thank you. These exercises raised my self-esteem a little bit
Massive thank you for teaching me the easiest way. I've been dreading numeracy all my life but with these, I'm loving it.

thank u mam for give this information
Best explanation
So confused. Why do you divide some denominators into the numerators and some numerators into the denominators?
Why moving the decimal point three places when the stock is 1000? It’s because the zeros tells me how many times it will be move to the left?
I was okay with this until the micrograms because I had no idea of what they equaled too, so that was scary lol
Madam you are great
Thank You!!!!!
Can someone help please. I need to take 50 mg of medicine. My medicine is 300mg in a one ml ampoule. I can’t figure out where on a one ml syringe I draw too.
thank you easy to understand
Dumb question but, if the order is 0.5mg and the stock medication is 0.5mg per 1 ml, do you just draw up 0.5ml? or would it be one ml using the formula above?
Of course 1 ml
Cos 0.5 ml contains 0.25mg, and u need 0.5mg!
very helpful! tnx!

It's learning is necessary for me
you have to multiply the patients weight in question 2!
Yes i thought was confused
@@kongweakama9053 No, the weight is not indicated in the question, if it had said mg/kg or ml/kg then yes you will need the weight
