      By the way, I subscribed via your referral link, their library needs more tracks, and the biggest issue is with Facebook, I got many copyright claims on my videos on Facebook and I had to make an extra effort to contact Epidemic Sound and Facebook to remove them. it became time-consuming for me, instead of focusing on the content, I spent time sending emails plus the stress of thinking maybe the video would be affected if there was a copyright claim. my experience was not that good. they need to work more hard to enhance their platform.

      I find it difficult to navigate any soundtrack company's version, and was wondering if you know anyone who would be willing to help me figure out how to effectively find songs and music on Epidemic Sound.
      Maybe even someone on the Phoenix, AZ area and we could get together in person?
      Please let me know....thank you....Daniela

    1. Eye contact with lens
    2. Not starting UA-cam account
    3. Focussing on gear not content
    4. Lack of planning
    5. Comparing yourself to others
    6. Making selfish content (what value does your video add to the viewer?)
    7. Weak thumbnails
    8. Wasting time during the start of your video, eg. CGI intro
    9. Not creating a routine / consistent results / systems / scheduling
    10. Going off the topic of your channel to try to earn money
    11. Unrealistic expectations: UA-cam is a marathon not a sprint
    12. Covering too many topics (i think this is wrong since mikhaela Peterson covers loads but is successful, as does Jordan Peterson & joe rogan)
    14. Trying to figure everything out on your own- check others for what works (contradicts 5)
    15. Inconsistency (same as 9 tbh)
    16. Trying to do too many things at once (too many channels or topics)
    17. Giving up too soon (he doesn’t say how soon is too soon).
    Enjoy!

    • @onesamband
      @onesamband 7 місяців тому

      14 contradicts 5. I agree. Lots of people tell you to never share your ideas with anyone. How can you get help from others if you don't tell them what your plans are?

    • @JoshuaHehn
      @JoshuaHehn 6 місяців тому

      How is looking for ideas and best practices similar to comparison?
      I understand your point of view however I believe that comparing to others means looking at view / subscriber counts. How long did it take for this creator to get there and how long do I take? Etc

    • @portraitgeek
      @portraitgeek 6 місяців тому

      @@JoshuaHehn Much of success is random & down to luck. For every 100 people who do much the same thing to the same level of quality, only 1 or so will see much success

    All the tips where spot on. The eye contact one is soo true. I have a tendancy to stare in space and move my eyes when im thinking. Made me look disinterested and just terrible. Its easy to overlook this when your focus is 100% the script but this seems to me incredibly important. Thanks for great content

    My biggest Mistake was quitting: Jumped into the let's-play area in 2015 but hung up my controller a year later with just 20 subs and a modest view count. Imagine my shock when, after nearly a decade, I logged back in to find 200 loyal subscribers waiting! 🌟 This unexpected surprise fueled my comeback. Now, I'm diving into a new project with a no-quit attitude. To anyone out there doubting their journey, remember, persistence is key! Your audience may just be a click away. 🎮💪

  • @ClaytonsWoodArt
    @ClaytonsWoodArt 7 місяців тому +3

    My problem with consistency is that woodworking projects take various amounts of time to complete. I think I should either post every other week or try to pound out a half dozen quick projects to create a bank. The former is probably easier ….

    I am new to youtube and have 4 channels opps (kids, diy, aquarium, basketball) I should be focused on the aquarium but thought the kids one would be more profitable long term. However after adding 30 videos on the kids and spending soo much time i ended up getting more watch time on one unedited aquarium tour video then all the kids video combined. Which was absolutely unexpected crazy. Moving forwarded my focus will be on the aquarium

    If you want to be succesful, you just have to find a winning combination. Being a UA-camr is like owning a business, and you need to give people content they want to see. Tough part could be starting and growing your channel, but when I did I had really good strategy (When I post something, I would use a little bit of Famester to make that content go viral immediately). So far it shows really good results, especially on my Shorts channel.

    I have to leave a comment about about mistake #9... there's too much truth to it. The intro to this video is a perfect example of how getting straight to the point makes the video so engaging and it didn't even take any special effects. I've lost track of how many times I forward past peoples intros, where with this video, I literally watched the whole thing through without skipping once. Getting straight to the point >>>> fancy intros

    Great topic. I do feel that UA-cam has its own internal way of promoting one video and not others, so it's really hard to tell what works. My second video went a bit viral... enough to get monetized. It took about 4-5 months though after it was released for it to start getting traction. Then a year later it did the same thing again. I've had videos where I spent a lot of time with editing and all sorts of map animations etc, only to get very few views. My content did wander a bit but only because I am still trying to find my audience with less than 30 videos made (some I deleted) I don't have enough content. It takes 2-4 hours of research, recording and editing for every 1 minute of content, and I am trying to hire others for some of that. But it is very difficult. I have just hired by first script to be written and waiting on that to see how good it is. I work about 9-10 hours a day already and making videos on top of that is tough, sometimes it takes a week to get a video released. I want to be more consistent and do 1-4 videos a week, but just isn't enough hours in the day, and I am getting very burnt out.

      Hey @GeoTactics I have just had a look at your channel, and given the topic I think you could try to make some videos or livestreams on the latest developments of the current wars in the Middle East. There's quite a lot happening in the area at the moment with Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, Yemen etc. To cut down on video editing time you could just record yourself and give a 10 min status update on the Ukraine - Russia conflict, and from time to time show some OSINT footage, military losses statistics etc. Apparently the 2 russian planes taken down this week were actually a strategic trap setup by Ukraine, since your channel is around strategy it would be another topic to cover?
      Just some thoughts ;) Good luck with your channel!

      @GeoTactics 5 місяців тому +1

      @@quentinskitchen Much appreciated feedback. I did start doing Ukraine videos - some I pulled off the channel for different reasons - but since they did not get traction I stopped. It's funny that I've been re-thinking that and looking to do new content on the areas you mentioned... like the new Pakistan-Iran conflict. Much thanks... :)

    I’m making content I believe viewers want. My last video isn’t performing well and I don’t know why. Not sure if the algorithm is showing my videos to the right people since I have my cruise videos mixed in and those videos continue to get views. I’m to the point to where I want to give up and get my life back if my hard worked views are a flop. It’s been a year and a half and that frustration is hitting hard right now.

    One additional mistake I found. Your title for mistake number 16. is wrong. It says again "15." Anyway thank you for your content. Helps a lot

    Honestly, all these tips are really helpful. I try to be objective and look at my chanel : I grow but veeeeery slowly and I don't know why. My chanel is in french, is this that ? This year I put a lot of efforts in intro, thumbnails, title, content. Of course I can do better and I will. But at least, I feel that what everybody says about gear or editing is not completely true. I analyze lots of successful chanel and they have all perfect editing and filming. I do my best, but I feel a little bit discouraged

    I've been feeling a bit discouraged, lately. When someone in the same niche with worse audio / sound posts their first video, I see them getting thousands of views and subscribers within DAYS. It's frustrating. I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what it is.
    I'm gaining around 50 subscribers a week. No idea if that's a good number.
    Thanks for the advice. Videos like these are so motivating and helpful 🤎

      50 subs a week is way better than me currently. So you're doing good, isn't that 2600 subs a year? Most people are still stuck under 1000

    I find planning almost impossible as a travel vlogger. Sure I know what I want to film however, there are many factors that prevent me from planning and most of it is improvised.

    I have a question about thumbnail faces. If I'm using a stock photo/AI face instead of my own, is it better to use a male or female face? My channel is educational and geared toward graduate students mostly in their 20s and 30s (law and related fields)

    What is your opinion on posting the same video on separate channels but two different titles and thumbnails
