@@Wielebny He can just wait a while and then complete the series when everyone that was gonna buy it anyway has bought it. The issue people have with app integrated physical games is that, if the creators don’t keep supporting the app, then the physical game becomes useless. I honestly would support this game if I had the money but I also acknowledge the concern that other people have.
Yhea it's a story/game more than a true puzzle. Still I love the idea and how it's put together. To my mind they should definitely develop the idea further, creating new versions of the story and apps which attach to this one and make a bigger and bigger Gotham where they can then just release new apps which use the same cues that are already there to activate the augmented reality stuff and create new and different storys/games.
Maybe next time you should have notifications on so you weren't three weeks behind on the original.. just saying that is common sense if you really have respect for Mr Chris

Thanks Chris for all of the content that you put out there. I have started at the beginning. Cool design and implementation for sure! The tasks feel a bit easy for my taste, so I guess I'll be at least waiting for some full reviews and then look for buying it in retail.

Really cool game, however, I'm always skeptical of games with a technology dependent component, like murder mysteries that used DVD of VHS content etc. What happens in 5 years when the app is no longer supported or the contemporary phones are incompatible? Is the game no longer playable? This would be cool if the game game with a stand alone, dedicated LCD device. Otherwise, really excellent product.
but then that seem wasteful from ecological point of view to produce bunch off devices like that just for one game that will be only played a couple of times in man cases.
dude, We are beyond VHS and DVD incorporated games... AR is completely different and literally engaging unlike vhs and dvd.... its not dragons Lair on 3DO guy. not to mention your bs about 5 years devices not supporting AR...LMAO
@@clarkecorvo2692 says ignorance.... not to mention making a bunch of led screens and lithium ion batteries would be more wasteful and harmful to the environment, AR will not fade away in 5 years nor will the games AR app be incompatible with phones in five years... pure ignorance, 0 knowledge off cell phone software and apps.
@@Burn77oas7 your fixation on the 5 years shows a lack of comprehension. its meant as "some time in the future", who cares if its 5 or 10. and i never said their should be a dedicated device for it, cause it would be indeed wasteful, but OP is right. it will get outdated and become unplayable sooner than you think. different windows-versions is the prime example.
Man gets excited about how cool ar is. *looks over to my old 3ds* I remember those times I know there's a difference in how refined this is versus a gimmick on a console
These guys should work for Tesla, because the zoo van did a better job of self driving. It managed to navigate without killing anyone, or catching fire. Great video, Chris, would love to see more stuff like this in the future.
this has to be the best one youve ever done so much detail and the joker vision is just amazing to watch all i could say the whole video is thats just mad cool lol
My one big criticism here is that I'm not seeing much actual solving of puzzles. You're doing what the app is telling you. The only things that I would really qualify as "solving" would be the message revealed by the UV card, the circled letters in the paper, and maybe the memory game. Only that much actual solving in an hour of gameplay seems like... not enough. It looks like a really cool concept, and maybe it will focus more on solving in later chapters when people are oriented and everything is finished being built, but just judging it based on what I've seen, they're putting way more focus on having a cool interface than interesting gameplay.
I think the puzzle solving starts a bit later- after the story is laid out and the city is built. He did say it contained 6 hours of play time and he just barely scratched the surface in this video. There were definitely symbols hiding in the lettering of the graffiti. Just my educated guess, though.
Looks fantastic, but it seems, to me, that there's not a lot of sequential discovery. Nothing to keep you 'locked out' of progressing. It pretty much just says 'put this here and move your phone about to find this.' But, again, the implementation of the AR looks incredible.
I enjoy all your videos Chris, but as a Batman fan I'm enjoying this series even more. Can't wait to see where the next chapter will lead you. Thank you!
First chapter feels pretty single player to me, even with a large tablet or casting, one guy's playing and others are spectators. Maybe you can have multiple device hooked up to the game? Hopefully there are more traditional board game elements to it so everyone can participate.
Welp, I'd have guessed wrong, as my response to the first real puzzle was dent. He's black and white, and is corrupt justice personified... But I guess black and white could also apply to the penguin. That said, I knew who was behind it the second I saw the last spray, because I played way too much Arkham origins and thus can spot hidden A's like they're plastered everywhere.
This is AMAZING!! It seems like it would be enjoyable to do on your own or even together with family or friends. With the way kids love video games these days, it would be a great way to get them away from a computer or TV yet still keep them satisfied with enough "screen time" while also adding in the physical aspect. Just enough balance of classic and modern entertainment.
You know the Joker is the best known villain of the batman comics, tv series and movies. But I think the Riddler is the most underrated villain in the batman universe.
This seems like a nice activity to do with family or friends, since given how interactive and easy it is (atleast the part 1 that you've shown), it wont be intimidating for folks who are just looking for fun without too much thinking
More like the combination of a game and a puzzle but still it'd make a really good present for someone who's in to the Batman universe or even just the Joker. I really like the style of the entire idea. Also there's definitely room for expansion, with new sets coming out that join on to the existing ones so eventually you'd end up with a huge, interactive, augmented reality version of Gotham City where they could then just release new apps and a basic game card, envelope set. Even designing a decent box to keep it all in.
