This is so good to hear in 2024. Radio has changed so much over the years, thank you for going back in time and of course it’s all about David Bowie. Thanks again, DB is so human and charming. Love him forever.
Agreed. Sounded like he took some *Tylenol* then drank 3 cups of *Java* just before they turned on the Phone Lines. Is it just me, or does anyone else remember this combo feeling was exactly how the good *cocaine* was back then? - - #Halston
I remember listening to this interview first time around in 1979 with the release of 'Lodger' I must have been 19 or 20 ..I had seen him the year before live at Earls Court on the 'Heroes' tour..
Great to hear this again i remember getting a tip off that Bowie was going to be on that night and myself and another Bowie obsessed mate went down to capital and the weather was so bad poured of rain all night. Anyway that wasn't going to stop us and i suppose that when Bowie's car pulled up there was around 20-30 fans that had gathered but of course he was quickly ushered in. Just a point about the beginning of the interview when Nicky Horne said i am glad to see you didn't lose too much hair (or words to that effect) and what he meant was in the crush to get Bowie into the building this girl just ran and launched herself on top of the crowd and grabbed a handful of Bowie's hair and most likely pulled some out which I'm sure must of hurt and she got a whole load of grief from other fans about it. Anyway as true Bowie fans me and my mate who i went with stayed outside in the car and listened to the show on the radio trying to hopefully get a glimpse when he left the building but unfortunately he couldn't risk this girl pulling anymore hair out and they quickly ushered him out the back door! Didn't blame him one bit either. Anyone like us that has followed Bowie around Europe must have no end of stories and glad to say mostly good! 😂😂This was a great interview as i think David was in a much better place and Nicky Horne was good at his job so you could tell. Let's just say much better than when David was on the Russell Harty show a few years before! ⚡⚡⚡

I love his interactions with the callers. 🥰

I love how calm and non-chalant the callers are. I would've been losing my mind
hi david AAAAAAAAAAAAAAh I was wondering, are you planning your own death? AAAAAAAAAAH i love you thanks
Wow, what a great interview. The interviewer and the phone in audience were amazing too.

I love this radio interview. Wish the musical selections played during the program were not edited out.
Sound & Vision Nice number

Truly a gem
39:35 - "Darling, I AM New Wave." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have this on tape, I just wish I was there like the other fans !
really? i mean didn't some people die in that?
49:54 I want a musical of 1984 written by David Bowie! Damn you tangents!
Tangents was her (his?) last name, but I think their first name was Kohkayn.
God bless lazy days in bed with UA-cam ❤️
Agreed. Now I mainly use it to fall asleep, by tuning in to an *Intruction* Video or calming Sleep *Hypnotic* Music.
I listen to interviews like this for sleep.
Or in the middle of the night in bed. Awesome interview
@@shivapejman8155 so do i lol. I'm closing my eyes and listening to his beautiful voice.
Can anyone list the songs. Curious about the 80s disco folk track and couldn’t make it out. Thanks
I wonder if David would answer that very last question differently now in 2020
Yes.
"Maybe someone will write an album about it". "Oh wait... I did".
Actors acting all the way
That curtain is a distraction...looks like grease stains
How can you look at anything but that GORGEOUS MAN?!!! 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
