Thank you for sharing the video.
While you didn’t share any hard and fast rules (because there are none) what I learned is to always be open and pay attention to the tree, it’s needs and be prepared to continually adjust what you think you know.

Watering trees takes time to figure out but most importantly consistency. Its easy to water 2-3 days at the beginning then taper and forget to water. Until you get disciplined in remembering to water or not to water is the experience over time. I live in South Florida so it rains more often but we cant grow may species from the west. So sticking to trees from your area also helps in keeping them alive. That's my humble experience.

In Australia where I live , any of my trees in free draining soil need water twice a day minimal in our climate gets so annoying some days if there's wind aswell as heat haha

Here in Tampa, Florida, everytime I water, I feel the weight of the of the trees in the pots before and after I water, as well as see how fast or slow the water sinks through the soil. Both help me out when to determine to water.

How do I water my bonsai is one of the hardest quests I get. I tell them learn to (your tree ) water and watch how fast it drys out and water it again when it is drying out. But I know that don't work with every tree. Great video. I leave something new every time I watch you.

I live in South Louisiana, it gets very hot here, so I use a thicker soil, and just pay attention to my trees. I just returned from Colorado, the three trees that I harvested are doing great down here!

Can you explain what the soil looks/feels like when you determine whether a tree needs watering, and give specific case studies. Like this one gets watered typically twice a day in the heat of summer, but once a day in spring & fall, while this one gets water only once every 1-2 days because etc etc. I know no expert likes to give specifics, but it's all still so vague!!! I rarely water mine twice a day (SF bay area), and I'm wondering if I could go a little more on my higher water mobility species.

Hi, I'm planning to transform my front yard and backyard into a Japanese tea house garden with bonsai here in Southern California.
My question is, can I import all the trees, moss, plants, etc... from Japan?
Yes, a container shipments of stuff from Japan. Can you please get in contact with me. Thanks.
