Fiat grande punto difficulty opening rear doors fix .

I don't usually do car repair videos but as a Fiat enthusiast I do have quite a few Fiat branded vehicles and on two of them the rear doors have great difficulty in opening so using my engineering skills I make a modification to the rear door handle using part of an old Television set !!!!!
Which is what I do for a living , repair TV sets .

Had the same on my seat Leon door mechs dried up, drilled a small hole in the locking mechs and injected lithium based plastic grease into them then glued it back up been fine for over 2 years 👍

Seems to be a design fault on Fiats part rather than just needing lubricating in my case , I did another one of my Puntos today , same gap in the mechanism .

Hi, have you ever experienced difficulty getting a Fiat Punto boot open? Mine is a 56 plate, I can open it using the catch inside the boot but it won't open with the key or dash button. It does make a short whirring sound when I press the button as if it is trying to open. I've tried things like WD-40 on it but as it has no issue opening manually I dont think its the lock (or at least the exterior lock). Are you able to help at all? Thanks!

This is not a problem I have had but the boot lock is a common fault on puntos,usually the boot light wont come on when you open the hatch and this is the first sign of lock failure,its caused by water getting into the tailgate,have a search on the internet for punto boot lock a new lock is not very expensive and quite easy to fit.

@@lara3992 Hi Lara,did a new boot lock resolve your problem,on mine it wont open on a button at dashboard or key,just from inside of boot

I took my lock out and the connection was all green so definitely a problem there! Fitted the new one and it still wouldn’t work, had to open up to see the wires and they were breaking. Need to get them replaced and hoping it’ll work then - hope this helps
Try a lock first though, got mine for £20 off eBay
