“You fell in love with something you were never meant to love, and now it’s on you for the rest of your life. That is the struggle Allah chose for you”. Insane 🔥

I have a family member in Minneapolis, who has an addiction to drinking, he did get help but wants back it again, it went down hell when his mother died, We used to be close friends, and I hope he will find himself again one day insha Allah.

What an eye opening conversation. May Allah bless you all. In the west, the Somali community tend to shun people struggling with addiction, but if you go to Somalia you will see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. 30+ years of war and trauma has left our people broke Subhanallah.

If we reach into the shadows, it is where the hidden light can be found. Dr. Gabor Mate, an addiction expert from Canada, believes that most adult addictions can be traced back to childhood wounds caused by trauma. By healing, we integrate parts of the whole into oneness. Sometimes, we go through things that at the time don't make sense, BUT when we come out of the other end, we understand the lesson of it all.

Great podcast! I really enjoyed it and appreciate Brother Abdirahman's courage in sharing his story. It's essential to address important topics like the challenges faced by Somali communities in the US. May Allah protect and guide Brother Abdirahman and all those working to make a difference in their communities.

great podcast, topic, perspective and knowledge.
maashallah, may Allah us all in knowledge and all good things, alhamdulillah
    I wanted to say too,
its good the Quran is being taught in Dugsi, even with lack of Arabic, it has power we cannot understand. its what saved me, and
I still don't speak Arabic, but i read Quran, it speaks to me, and everyone else too. i understand your perspective was positive as in let the Dugsi teach us understand the Quran and also learn to implement etc, but mention it in details any point about Quran and how we deal with it as a community, its sensitive etc etc jzakallah

If God wills, we find Islam of Abrahamic Monotheism and Creed, not corrupted Hadiths of Abu Huraira et al. The Quran is the Hadith of God (all of it are His words), and things happen in this world according to His ways (nothing is independent of Him). Nothing is equivalent to God, His Power, His words etc.
... waman asdaqu mina Allahi Hadithan.[Quran chp 4 ver 87]
falam yaku yanfauhum imanuhum lamma raaw basana Sunnata Allahi... [Quran chp 40 ver 85]
