I agree with both of you, it's a crime there aren't more full show recordings feat Jesper. Máté also had great chemistry with (back then youngling) Lukas, but yeah, there was something special about his performances with Jesper (and yes, the concerts snippets are proof of that). It's been almost 20 years and I'm still sad he left this wonderul production so early, altho I understand that he probably felt a little dissatisfied with the Vienna take, coming from the Essen production.

Es wäre besser, wenn Jesper die Oberstimme gesungen hätte.. er hat da einfach immer eine unfassbare Leichtigkeit und hat sie in Essen immer gesungen, egal, ob er als Rudolph oder Tod besetzt war.
It sounds much softer than the rougher version that is like the proshot(?) which I like more idk why but probably because I’m so used to Mark Seibert’s version Nice video btw
