    For anyone watching this video that may be skeptical of this advice, it is 100% helpful. I have 6,000 total hours in CS:GO and I've reached Global on 2 of my accounts. When I first started playing competitively and improving, complaining definitely became a habit and it held me back quite a bit. Knowing I can't control what my teammates or enemies are doing, I started telling myself what I could do instead. If you're struggling to make taking note of your own actions a habit and your habit is complaining about other factors, the most important thing to remember is you are only in control of yourself.

    Never realized I was doing this every time I died/failed in ANY game I play. People constantly discourage this habit and tell me not to be so hard on myself but I always subconsciously felt it was a positive thing and not a negative one. There's a difference between kicking yourself and analyzing where you can improve.

    i got out of the habit of doing this and started kinda tilting instead for the past few weeks. this video not only reminded me of the importance of doing this, but added new strategies on top of it. great content, as always!

    I'm mostly passionate about fighting games but dabble in fps and it's pretty cool how this mentality applies to almost anything you're trying to improve on.
    It's what separates people quoted by scrubquotes on Twitter and people that actually git gud.

    great video as always, and to add to what you are talking about. VOD reviewing is an amazing way to identify and limit future mistakes in games. as someone who has been playing and coaching semi-pro overwatch since 2017, watching past games to see the full picture outside of the game is instrumental to improvement for the next game. It's especially useful in cases where you cant see the mistakes you are making while playing

    Really, this is so key, and don’t overthink it, just ask yourself how at each death or failure if something could have gotten you a better outcome note it, it don’t dwell on the question if nothing pops.

    One thing for me is i try to do this all the time, sometimes obviously forgetting. But i sometimes tilt cause i just cant find what to improve on or what to do next fight, also I can be very harsh on myself even if Im not even preforming bad! But this is a great video def gonna use this more often and try my best, but also not beat myself up for doing something wrong 😭

    • @StruthGaming
      @StruthGaming  Рік тому +1

      Added it to the list! Quick answer is that it's extremely valuable, for improving in strategy/decision making, but also in aim.
      Main hurdle is the time, effort and setting up a suitable recording method.

    What if you recognize what you did wrong but your actions are impulsive and you tend to act before you think?

    • @skylocks123
      @skylocks123 Рік тому +7

      I guess that's the part of the skill. I'm trying to improve as well, and I think it's more about filtering out your impulse and to think with a clearer mind at a FASTER rate than you were before (and before opposing teams outplay you).

    • @StruthGaming
      @StruthGaming  Рік тому +3

      Being able to recognize what you did wrong is the main hurdle, so that's great. The idea would be to then think of what you should have done instead. So the next time you're in that same or similar situation, your impulsive decision draws from that updated flowchart you made last time.
      When it comes to game sense/awareness, much of it is impulsive or instinctive and doesn't require much thought. There are situations that require more attention like choosing where to position in the late game of a BR game for example, but you'll usually have ample time to think about and draw on past experiences to make the most informed decision.

    do you think using raw accel could be beneficial playing apex? it doesn't have to do with this video obviously, but I use raw accel in valorant because i like to play a lower sens on val, but I don't have a really large amount of mouse space, at least not enough for the sens I wanted to play on, so I used raw accel to be able to get the larger flicks and 180s i needed, could it be used in apex?
