    I've said it over and over again, yet been torn to shreds for my take, that Phoenix would finish the year like this. The Suns really didn't take anything into account when making that trade for KD and it's gonna bite them for the long term. Mikal Bridges was their glue guy, could be relied on all season and still had room to grow. KD, CP3 and Booker all have to be healthy (lmao as if) to have any real chance. They needed to bounce Ayton for a real reliable player, from a mental aspect. I've said matching the offer for Ayton was a mistake because he clearly wanted out. Now you're missing your glue guy, have a mentally poor team and no real reliable players on, or off the bench with little to no assets to make a real change. Next year, and maybe the year after, are their best chances at a title. They are now stuck in a hard situation where you need a top tier GM to pull off any sort of success because their roster has been, and will continue to be the issue. Lack of depth and defense was exactly why I said they'd lose in the play offs. Next year, barring some miracle FAs or trades, will be exactly the same situation. It's a shame that they went with the "win now" mentality when they were just a solid trade and signing away from a championship. Phoenix is just the new Clippers.

      @@reginaspanties (Found one of my OG takes) I was never sure they were contenders. Too late in the season to properly gel for a deep playoff run this season, and they need to stay completely healthy next season for a chance. If they don't win next year then they aren't going to win one unless they find an amazing replacement for CP3. I questioned this historic trade the second it happened. Everyone sees "KD Traded wow what a blockbuster move" and I just saw the Suns giving up their future for a chance at a ring for, best case, 2 seasons. CP3 will be gone before you know it, KD will have either aged or moved on and all you've got left is Booker and Ayton. An Ayton that didn't even want to be here just a season ago. They are really taking a page outta the Clippers playbook here, injury prone stars with no assets to make any adjustments outside of Free Agency.

    Nuggets fan here. After this series, I think the biggest move they can make is moving Ayton and using that to retain Jock Landale. Don't know if he becomes the starting #5, but he could become a roll #5 to fit into a KD/Booker dominant system. If I were Jock, I'd go elsewhere to get paid, but I imagine the Suns will do what they can to keep him for at least 2 more years.

    Mortgaging your season for half a year of a star is always high risk, high reward and we seen it with the kyrie and kd trades. They may work out but if they don't you got a lot to worry about that next offseason. Book's approaching his prime but KD might be leaving his soon with the injuries. They gotta do this right or this chip window will close fast af. Idk if you could flip ayton AND cp for a possible 3rd star but if you can you might have to pull the trigger imo, easier said than done. But I'd just retool and get younger, bench depth is so wildly underrated, sure you can win off the strength of star power but if they score all 99 points by themselves and the other team scores 100 you lose

    I would say do not get rid of both Ayton or Monty, at least not right away, but one has to go. To me, it’s clear that those two don’t gel and that Monty is putting Ayton in a more limited role. Still say Ayton has aggression issues, not sure if that’s purely personality or if it is Monty’s coaching, though he was plenty aggressive in college. Personally I would say get rid of Monty and start the season with Ayton, give him a bigger role and if he still has issues, trade him before the deadline. The increased role should up his value and then the suns can get more back. When it comes to PGs, I would not mind trading for Caruso, but I’m not sure he’s necessarily starting caliber, though he’s a better option than Cam Payne(also don’t know how feasible a trade would be).

    @Avocado11 Рік тому

    Suns have no money for signing free agents and will only be able to get mins and the TMLE. Don't think they'll get much for CP3 at his age with his body in the condition it is. Ayton is the big question, maybe a team like the Spurs if they fail to get Wemby could grab him and see if Pop can turn him into something. Since they have so much cap space a vet shooter like Doug McDermott and a pick or 2 could get Ayton with his value pretty low. If they wanted to do Paul for Rozier they'd probably have to attach one of the picks from the Ayton trade to do it.

    The Suns were alot of people's championship favorite heading into the playoffs and while they did not do so, when you literally have a player in KD who automatically makes a team better but the depth is even worse and having to go against the two-time MVP maybe best player in the world in Jokic and having to play possibly the most dominant team so far and have great home-court advantage is understandable. I do think the Suns will keep KD and Book and build their team around them, they probably will move on from Ayton and maybe CP3 unless they bring him back to finally get that title which I hope does happen cause Chris Paul's one of my favorite players all time and I want him to get a ring very bad so I don't know hopefully that's the case but yeah this roster definitely needs improvement regardless if they want to win a chip so we'll see how it turns out.

Only 2 problems are that Chris Paul is all about his money and the new Suns owner doesn't like Dab Gilbert. Unfortunate.

      Such a silly take. I get what you’re saying and your perception but I think you need to go more into what a role player is. He’s better suited to not be handling the ball as much, especially with age. However, he has never just had one role to fulfill. He typically has many roles in both ends of the floor, and is elite at most of the roles. A role player would be someone who is just a spot up shooter that can play defense. KD can do it all, but he’s better suited not having to these days.
