I've grown up in Syracuse and I do remember one winter (December 2011-March 2012) where we barely got any snow at all. I would know because I had to walk to school every day back then because I lived in the same neighborhood as my high school. It was a freak warm winter and it made my walks 10x easier. Though recently, there will be short stretches during the winter here with no snow on the ground (only to have it dumped on us later).
Yep - this winter, last winter, the winter before last. Historically, we averaged 127" of snowfall per winter. Now with global warming, we mostly get rain. 50" of snow last winter, none of which stayed on the ground for more than a day or two. This winter we'll be lucky to get 40", again it has all promptly melted.
As a student at Syracuse University, I recall the city being called Siberacuse. Calling Syracuse, a city with a population just under 150,000, a “big city” is quite a stretch.
I never liked commuting to/from work in the snow, though it was usually manageable. Other than that, I liked the snow. Now I live in the south. The worst gridlocks occur here at about the same frequency as they did in Syracuse, say every 5 or so years, but it only takes a sudden couple of inches during the "rush" hour rather than a couple of feet as it did in Syracuse.

I'm on my second year here in Syracuse and yeah it snows but this is my second year living here in the month of March . 2 inches of snow in 62 days here in march. ? I'm not seeing it. If it is the snowiest , where is it?And in January we had one blizzard and the snow melted within 5 days . In sorry . I'm not seeing it. The snow I'm talking about. Gun shots , yeah I am seeing and hearing that but that's about it.
You can stop trolling. By now your account has probably been dormant for four years. Alaska has never gotten much snow because there's so little moisture there. Like someone else said, it's also often too cold. The colder it gets the more powdery and fine the snow.
cant hold a candle to Oswego, Pulaski, Mexico, Redfield or Watertown.. Syracuse gets 3 inch's its a big deal.. Pulaski gets 3 feet and no one blinks an eye.
Yeah I have to agree. Watertown and all those cities north of Syracuse get way more. And in Syracuse it doesn't snow from October to May. I've been in Syracuse for a couple of years now and never seen it snow in April or October. So this is false from what I've seen....
that ad is the most lying is Cornish it ever seen and I am from six New York we only have snow Syracuse New York that bad is 1982 1995 to 1996 after 1990 so 1999 the winner has been global warming
@@tommytruth7595 No, it wouldn't. It's been proven that the lakes no longer freeze, or at least not anywhere as much as they used to. Global warming is absolutely a thing.
I'm in Buffalo right next to Syracuse and I feel your pain trust me. Lake effect snow is a daily event.
I moved from Syracuse To Las Vegas and I will NEVER regret it EVER
We don't, either.
Has it ever NOT snowed or not much at all in Syracuse during winter?

Just visited Syracuse. Love it! We luckily visited after a big storm.

Syracuse had lots of snow all these past year but this year 2018 its really weird that we didnt get snow and no school delay
Not weird at all. It's called climate change, directly related to global warming. Syracuse will get less and less snow as the decades go by. Fact.
I have seen way too many Syracuse winters ridiculous

Syracuse is best of winter in the last 10 years is 2018 we really haven't had a whole lot of snow
The Snow Is Snowier Than Before
No, it's not. The United States as a whole gets FAR LESS SNOW than it decades ago. Fact.

Every winter is different. Live there long enough and you will see a lot of snow. Syracuse has had winters with over 190" of snow.
It's by population
You ever heard of Alaska?
You have heard of Little Alaska? It is another name for Syracuse.
i don’t think u understand that really cold states don’t get a bunch of snow bc alaska will just get too cold for snow sometimes

Not true about the global warming. But even if it were, it would result in more lake effect snow from Lake Ontario for Syracuse.
